The Automotive Hall of Frame is one of my favorite experiences here. There are just so many cars and different areas represented. Spent the day in Dearborn. Located next to the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

A really fun museum to learn about all automotive-related history of those people that shaped the industry. Angela was highly knowledgeable about the history and she was gracious with her time showing us a few of her favorite displays. This museum is not related to the Ford museums, even though it's in the complex, and at the time of our visit I love how less crowded it was.

Very cool experience if you are a car lover. I loved being able to see all of the unusual cars that you would never see on the road in every day life - like the BMW Isseta which was only made from 1955-1962 with about 160,000 ever made. You can walk through the museum and see some cars you will probably never see anywhere else. Lots of truly classic cars and plenty of historic cars as well (all of the early American cars that started the automotive revolution). Highly recommended way to spend an afternoon if you enjoy the beauty of looking at how cars have evolved over the past 100 years.

This museum sits next to the Henry Ford Museum, although it's not connected with it in any way. The lady at the front desk was kind enough to tell me what they are about and to give me an accurate idea of what to expect before I went in. She explained that you shouldn't go in there thinking you will get a Henry Ford Museum experience. From there - It's $8 for admission and I spent about a half hour or so looking around. It's a niche museum so it's not for everyone but it's good for what it is. Come here if you are an auto buff who wants to learn more about the history behind the industry. If you just want to look at cars, you will be disappointed. There are only 7 cars on display and a small theater showing a 20 minute movie about the auto industry (very interesting). Other than that, it's mostly reading various displays about the people behind the auto industry. I have pictures posted that show the most interesting visuals but these are about it. It's not for everyone but it's your money and your call.

This Museum does not have much content to it... I still would visit if your in Dearborn as it is still something unique but the museum lacks interactivity, exhibits, and is a little over prices at $8.00 per person.

I'm a huge automotive nerd so I will admit that this place isn't for everybody. First thing that you should know: there are only 7 cars in this museum. As with any Hall of Fame, this place is dedicated to the people in the automotive industry. So if you're a huge car fan or an engineering buff, this place is for you. If you just want to look at cool cars, then look elsewhere. The place isn't overwhelmingly large so you could conceivably go through it all in detail in a few hours. I myself spent about an hour and came away with most of what I wanted out of it. I spent a healthy amount of time in the design section and reading about interesting facts (the guy that invented cruise control was blind, for instance). The staff was very nice and the building itself was clean and as minimally sterile as museum-type buildings go. I wouldn't make this my primary or first stop, but I don't regret going.

After doing the Ford Rouge plant tour we went to the Automotive Hall of Fame...a little bit of a snoozefest (especially with a busload of tired fourth graders). Think rock n roll hall of fame but for car guys...not many cars here, mostly stories of MEN (yes I noticed a lack of ladies on the walls) and their automotive industry achievements. Interesting, but not spellbinding.

Absolutely wonderful! Four generations of our family (ages 12- 90) enjoyed the personal tour today. Both my son and my grandfather could not stop talking about what they learned- the innovative men and women who have influenced transportation and our world today. As mentioned, there are not many cars to see, but we did not care. We learned so much more than we thought we would. Excellent experience. Thank you for making this a memorable day for our family! Loved it!

You're in Motor City...so you might as well learn a little bit of history in your spare time. The Automotive Hall of Fame is a cool museum of sorts that goes through the history of cars. It's a perfect place to take kids (they allow you to do a make-shift assembly line) or to have school field trips and such. I would even suggest it for a family reunion, because I'm sure anyone at any age would be impressed. Tons of exhibits and memorabilia you can purchase. You can check out the website for more information, but tour prices are roughly $6 (or less if you bring a large group).

We visited the Automotive Hall of Fame on 4/6, the last leg of my boyfriend's 30th birthday (Ford-themed) celebration. As we walked through the door, we were greeted by a friendly woman in the reception area. She told us, from the get-go, not to expect the Henry Ford Museum experience (maybe because my boyfriend was decked out in his Ford gear). There's only a handful of cars, the remainder of the history is mostly what you read and then some themed artifacts and interactive exhibits. For $8/person, that worked for us - and, as it was the last day of our trip, we weren't expecting some several-hour-long experience. The museum is very nice, well-kept, and informational. They have a theater with a 20 minute video that showcases the First 100 years of the Automobile. Someone mentioned that females weren't highlighted at all - but what I actually noticed was that the focus was MOSTLY inventors of the brands they featured, and then notable figures in the industry - when you get to the end, there's a wall that highlights financial contributors to the Auto Hall of Fame - and you'll see that the exhibits mainly highlight the brands that contributed funds (and honestly, why should it not?) -Ford, Oldsmobile, Toyota, Honda, VW, etc. We had a nice experience here, and are happy we visited.
