Cute diner car experience. Food was just like homemade. Good place for lunch if you are in the Henry Ford Museum. We waited about 5 minutes to dine in the diner car. Plenty of seating outside of the diner car. Very busy at lunch time but cleared out right after lunch time.

Logistics. In the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, this is a cable car diner. Vibe. Preserved 40's-50's diner aesthics and design. The servers are in 'costume' too. Small; seats about 30 inside, and tables outside too. Potables and Comestibles. Simple, limited menu harkening to that era. We went for the huge Pastrami Sandwich (cold) with chips. Hot tea and Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies. All very good, met standard, and simple. Hospitality. Very friendly and hospitable. Of note. If you are a THF member, you get 10% off. The loos are near, and clean and stocked; beautiful marble. Overall, fun thing to try. Never had a meal in a preserved cable car diner. Not sure if the small juke box worked.

This is a fun place but it's inside the Henry ford museum so it's limited as to options. You could get a lunch special with 1/2 chicken salad sandwich with chips, soup and a drink. They also had 3 other sandwich options or the soup of the day. I got the soup of the day which was broccoli cheddar soup, and it was very good.

Seated for a light lunch after the big lunch rush had departed. Pastrami sandwich, kettle chips, root beer. Also had a cheddar broccoli soup bowl. Chips were good, but I should have ordered the sandwich without mustard. The food is decent, but it's the diner experience and the location inside the museum that makes it fun. If you just need something to eat, go elsewhere. If you want to experience an historic diner, eat at Lamy's. Pro tip: avoid the lunch rush and spend more time viewing the museum and less time waiting in line for a sandwich. Go right after they open or just before closing for the best experience. I'm giving a fourth star for the value. Located in a museum, they would have free rein to gouge, and I hate that. But prices are very respectable for the food and service given. This was nice.

Really cute diner inside of the Henry Ford museum. Had worked up an appetite after the factory tour and popped in for lunch. The menu has white bread sandwiches, a soup of the day, and a plethora of shakes/malts/sodas. I had the special which was a half chicken salad with broccoli cheddar soup. It hit the spot, but I could see how these options are severely limited for many. The ambiance is cool because you feel like you are in an old diner, and the staff goes along with the old style diner feel.

We absolutely loved the diner located within the Henry Ford museum. We decided to skip the actual lunch "rush" by going at 11:30. We waited less than 5 minutes to be seated inside the actual diner. Service was great. I had the lunch special which was a BLT with coleslaw and chips. The Mrs had the sloppy Joe with chips. The food was delivered in 4 minutes and was excellent. She said she loved loved loved the sloppy Joe. Reminded her of her childhood. I had a bite and it was delicious. My BLT was also very good. They definitely didn't skimp on the potato chips. $21 + tip. I thought the prices were very good. We returned at 3 for dessert. Apple pie with ice cream and a chocolate sundae. $11

Great lunch with friends had the cucumber sandwich along with a root beer float. Just like old times. Highly recommend this place, service was excellent and the ambiance was just awesome. Brought back old memories.

After walking around the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, we worked up an appetite and wanted to dine at Lamy's Diner. No way you can miss Lamy's Diner. You will see the McDonald's sign in front as well as the White Castle signage. We did not eat in the diner itself in fact we were outside in a comfortable booth. We ordered the lunch special which only cost $11 dollars. * Cup of vegetable soup- Brings back memories of Campbell's alphabet soup. Mmm good. * 1/2 a chicken salad sandwich with potato chips * Bottle of Soda- Got the cream soda We also shared a Vanilla Malt Shake. If you are visiting Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, you definitely need to check out Lamy's Diner. Staff is friendly and waitress was very attentive. Will be back for another Vanilla Float.
