This is a great go to spot. The DJ IS NICE! The crowd is mature. The bartenders are kind and the drinks are strong. DJ Prince Taj rocks Axis lounge. He knows his music and plays all the goodies. The band was great, the drinks were good. Music is always great but my favorite is when they have Dueling Pianos. This bar is beautiful, well setup, has great staff from bartenders to security personnel. I always have a GOOD TIME at the AXIS LOUNGE THE MUSIC IS GREAT & THE SELECTIONS OF MUSIC ! I JUST LOVE IT!

I was thinking that this was an actual lounge as opposed to a bar in the middle of the casino. Eh, no biggie. For the most part, I enjoyed myself at this "lounge" . . . extra point for smoking options. Since the lounge is in the middle of the casino, I would have expected the service to be fast. Boy, was I wrong. Perhaps, the lounge needs to staff more bartenders. Both of the bartenders were pretty nice to me, but I did notice that they were quite rude to other customers. I'm not sure if the customers were rude to the bartenders, but unfortunately, rude customers come with the job. In one case, a customer asked the bartender the types of vodkas the bar served, he pretty much bit her head off. Here's a quick tip: Be sure to order your cocktails as doubles, because it will take some time to get a second round.

My family and I (8 of us) went here on New Year's Eve and had a reservation for bottle service. We came from out of town expecting to have a nice experience here but that was not the case. It wasn't what it was portrayed to be. There were quite a few issues (too many to type out) that we encountered that evening that need to be addressed. They are very disorganized and poorly managed.

The atmosphere is great and the server was amazing! However, the drinks are bad. We ordered grey goose and club soda thinking we can't go wrong but they did not taste good and definitely did not taste like grey goose vodka. I only drank half the drink and still woke up with the worst headache and the rest of the group who ordered more drinks got very sick.

Beautiful lounge, plenty of room, and the purple (my favorite color) ambience was superbly delightful to relax, have a drink & a cigar, while waiting for our dinner reservations. Staff was friendly and attentive, and made a hearty drink. $8 for a 12 oz Voss though was the downgrade of the review stars from 5 to 4. It's a beautiful place with beautiful, artistic decor. I definitely am looking forward to returning.

Great place for casual drinks or dancing. There's DJ and live music. Casual attire or not, it's just about having a good time.

I was on the fence from a 4-5 star but went with 4. Quite honestly it may deserve a 3 star, but my wife and I love coming here. Pros: great location inside MGM, MGM is the only casino I will go to in Detroit. Quite a few places to sit, mostly couches and some high top tables. The band is subjective and obviously changes, but most of the time the band is great and gets a lot of people dancing. THE PEOPLE WATCHING HERE IS TO DIE FOR, this may be the main reason we come here. Endless laughs and entertainment. Cons: the wait staff and overall ability to get a drink is amazingly poor. If you can find a waitress she will take literally 15 minutes to get you a drink, which is 10 minutes faster than trying to get a drink at the bar. I don't know why they don't hire more staff. Order two drinks at all times. The band always takes a 20 minute break after playing 5-6 songs. Why? I can understand a break but they are too long and too often. Overall the bad is basic at best and nothing special, slow service and wedding style bands. However we always have a blast here and will continue to come back. So for that, they get 4 stars.

I am a bartender and was excited to try this place out as it is advertised as a cocktail lounge. However, I was very disappointed and it started from the moment we sat down. The bartender was extremely rude, I asked for a cocktail menu and she said she didn't have one at the bar but if I wanted to I could get up and walk across the room to some of the tables to find one if I absolutely needed one. My first thought was ok I can do that but being in the customer service I industry and being that we were the only people at the bar and there were two other bartenders I felt that she should get that for me to make me feel more as a guest. Then as I looked through the menu we asked if she could change one of the many TVs to sports and she looked at us and said yea in a few minutes. Again I was taken back by this response as she was sitting there on her phone instead of helping the guests. After looking over the cocktail menu which was nothing special and after the way we had been treated we decided to leave without getting a drink.
