Well i wasn't impressed - the meat was seasoned ok but the sides were actually wasn't what I thought. On top of that - I waited for about 20 minutes for a dinner. They basically are sharing a building with cottage inn as well, parking is limited/tight, and customer service is ok. If the prices were a little cheaper than I might return but the only way ill return if I had a good coupon. Lol! Don't judge me!!!

We received some fliers/coupons at work for this place so I figured I would take a flier on it today for lunch. It is classic carryout place. A couple of chairs for while you wait for your food, a cooler with pop in it and the rotating glass window for them to pass your food to you. I saw them bringing in some groceries so I have a little better feel about what I ate than I typically would at a place like this. I ordered the Beef Brisket dinner. For $8.99, you get the brisket, two sides, and Texas Toast or cornbread. All their dinners come with sides/bread. They serve ribs, seafood, fried chicken, etc. They simply cook their brisket in black pepper i.e. no rub. I don't believe they have a smoker - figure I would have smelled it if they did. Nevertheless, the brisket was very tender. They asked if I wanted sauce on it and I opted for it considering the simple seasoning on the meat. I believe it was Open Pit BBQ sauce. For the sides, I went with the green beans, which were quite tasty with a little kick of spice. I believe they are cooked with turkey i.e. not vegetarian. For the other side, I went with corn (niblets) which was cooked right and tasty as well. You'd be surprised how many places screw up something as simple as corn, but they passed. For the bread, I told the cashier/order taker to give me whatever was better. After a moment of thought, she suggested the Texas Toast (since I was eating meat with sauce). I later found out their Texas Toast is simply Wonder Bread grilled on the flattop. In retrospect, you know you're not eating authentic soul cooking when the cornbread isn't the recommendation right away. They also own the Cottage Inn pizza location next door so I believe you can get pizza and ribs delivered together. The staff was very nice/helpful. This is a classic 1/2 point place i.e. I would say 3 1/2 stars. I opted for 3 due to the lack of "from scratch" cooking i.e. they don't make their own BBQ sauce!

Giving 1 star because I can't give 0 stars. I should have read the reviews and order from somewhere else. Ordered at 8:17pm and called to see what's going on at 9pm, then 9:30pm at which point they put me on hold and stopped answering the phone. My first stop is to write this review, my second stop is to dispute the charge with my CC company. If the delivery guy ever shows up he can kiss my fat a## STAY AWAY!

A few of us at work ordered from here today. Our lunch break is at 630. We ordered at 5:30 figuring it would be enough time for them to deliver. We didn't get a time frame so I called at 6:15 to see when they would get here. The lady said 20-25 minutes. I asked if it could get here any quicker she said they would leave then. Went out to pick it up and no one was there. Called them back at 6:40 and they said the driver just left. Thanks for ruining our lunch!

My family order from them at least twice a month. Their food is good and prices are reasonable. Their meats are flavorful & sides are as well. The only problem is that sometimes its not as hot as I would like. Not cold but could be a bit hotter. All & all its a good place to order a good BBQ meal :)

I should have read the reviews. I ordered delivery from here. I didn't mind the hour wait. Whatr I did mind is my order was wrong but I said "F-it, I'm hungry". The fried chicken was beyond dry, almost burn and way too salty. The mac and cheese was uneatable. I spit out the corn, it was so bloated and old tasting (I'm assuming it had been sitting in water all day). They accidental gave me jalapeno popper instead of hush puppies, but they where the only thing I could eat (really though, how can you screw up jalapeno poppers? They where obviously not made there...aka premade/frozen). In all I wish I could give this place a negative star

I can't believe they have the nerve to call this place original!!! The Mac n cheese is Kraft Mac n cheese the sweet potato pie was god awful the BBQ sauce was thin an runny!!!! The entire was trash!!!!!!!!! An they have the nerve to be expensive for that cheaply made crap can you say DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!! Never would advise anyone to eat there the star got stuck because I give then zero stars
