This inn is just minutes from Comerica Park, Ford Field, Little Caesars Arena, and the Fox Theatre. A friend of mine stayed here when visiting Detroit and loved it. The accommodations are beautiful, and the owners go above and beyond, introducing the guests to the room and amenities. Guests also get complimentary Detroit made products like Faygo and Better Made Chips in their room. Breakfast is included with the stay. It's a historic inn but with modern updates. The soaking tub is to die for. It's also a black women owned business. I met one of the owners, and she is so warm and welcoming. The Cochrane is one of the best places to stay near downtown Detroit.

I was fortunate enough to stay here for a two nights for a concert excursion. Not only were the accommodations spotless, but the hospitality is truly why I'd return. Francina and Roderica were such knowledgeable, kind, and friendly purveyors. There's a beautiful patio area behind the house as well with a fire pit and plenty of room to relax or finish work. You can't go wrong choosing to stay here!

If you're visiting Detroit (or if you're a Detroit native looking for a stay-cation), I highly recommend the Cochrane House B&B. This 19th Century restored mansion turned B&B gets top marks from me. The B&B has a gorgeous luxury feel that is modern rustic with thought provoking African American art. This Black owned, local, small business is just the place to unwind in a large soaking tub. The Cochrane House is run by two passionate and thoughtful sisters Rica and Cina James who go beyond the extra mile to make their guests feel at home. They asked for dietary restrictions ahead of my stay so as to accommodate my vegan lifestyle. Every morning I had multiple vegan choices that were delicious. Parking is included and just across the street in their private lot. Hang out inside their luxurious living space or check out their backyard and sit around the fire! The Cochrane House is 5 mins walking distance to Little Caesars Arena and minutes from downtown Detroit, Hart Plaza, and the Riverwalk not to mention close to the Charles Wright African American History museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts. Even Whole Foods is just down the road. You owe it to yourself stay at the Cochrane House and get to know the two friendly and amazing owners, Rica and Cina!

We stayed there on the night before Thanksgiving. Less than 5 minute walk to all of the stadiums. We were impressed with everything from the greeting to the great room and awesome bathroom. Breakfast was amazing and the sisters were very friendly and welcoming. We were able to keep our car parked in their lot for free for the football game. We will definitely be staying there on all our trips to Detroit. A++*

We recently stayed here and absolutely LOVED IT!! The Cochrane House is located in Brush Park eventhough the address has Detroit as the city. Loved that this was a historical house and the neighborhood was wonderful. Downtown Detroit was your backyard and there is a local coffee shop you can walk too as well. We stayed at the Rhythm Section Lounge Suite at The Cochrane House while in Detroit. When you enter the home, it smells so good especially from their candles. Loved the calmness, neutral color palette, design and the black art displayed all over the home, which was very tastefully done. We met the two sisters (owners) of the place and they were friendly, helpful and accommodating! We would submit our breakfast order via an online form the night before and breakfast would be brought and placed outside our door by 8:30am. The breakfast was better than any home-cooked meal I've had or better than any breakfast I have had at any restaurant. I have been to many as I am a foodie so that was impressive. All breakfast items were absolutely delicious! I LOVE sweet grits, yes with butter and sugar and the ones they made for me- Girl...it was amaziny and made to perfection. I got my love for sweet grits from living and growing up in Oklahoma lol While Troy worked at his client's office, he placed an order for them to deliver a wine and cheese plate to our suite for me to enjoy and that was great. The amenities and customer services were impeccable and stellar. The home is beautiful. We had views to Comerica Park stadium, Ford field, the Fox theatre and downtown Detroit. Our suite had a sauna shower, so I loved that. This was such a wonderful bed and breakfast place. The workspace was also great. Loved working downstairs and in my suite. This is also a Black owned business and a luxury bed and breakfast experience. Please support when in Detroit! I highly recommend this place and the service was impeccable.

My wife and I wanted to try the Bed and Breakfast experience and are glad that we did. We spent Valentine's Day weekend here. The Cochrane House treated us with utmost levels of hospitality! The second we walked in, we were hit with a luxurious experience, which is one of the things that differentiates this spot from other Bed and Breakfast locations, ambiance and all! This spot has a dope story, cool history, and cool pieces of artwork hung throughout. We enjoyed the experience over many of the hotels downtown. If you're planning a stay to explore Downtown Detroit, the location of the Cochrane House is GREAT for Downtown, Midtown, or Corcktown exploring. This should be added to anyone's list of "Must-Dos" in Detroit. Highly rated, widely discussed, and indeed, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My husband and I stayed her for the metallica concert. The house is amazing and beautiful. Not only were the hosts amazing, the rooms where so cute, and the breakfast on Sunday was to die for. I've never had grits before, but the way they were made here was unbelievable. This was a great night for my husband and I. I truly can not wait to stay here again.

This was my second time staying. I brought my husband and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners took great care of us as always. They are very professional and went above and beyond to care for our needs. The room was immaculate as well as the bathroom. My husband wants to come back as well as myself. I love the sisters and want to support them any way I can.

My wife surprised me for my birthday with a weekend stay at The Cochran House! As we pulled up, the owners, Francina and Roderica James (owners), were at the door waiting for us. We were greeted with their warm smiles and served charcuterie and sparkling cider in our beautiful room. The interior of this beautiful home is filled with black artwork and beauty throughout the establishment. Sunday morning, we could smell the aroma of our customized breakfast being prepared and then brought to our room. If you want to get away, please check them out. We will definitely be going back!
