Good prices, great drinks and food, lovely atmosphere!! Not much more I could ask for this. This bar is small but incredibly cute, including outdoor seating and a small food menu with sides and sliders! $3 miller lights $5-7 sliders -- small but filling!! I tried the "2nd breakfast"- came out within 10 minutes and was absolutely delicious!! Surprisingly filling for such a small thing, it had bacon, egg, arugula, sausage, and i believe a maple syrup on it! Also tried the large Garlic onion rings-- they up charge for ranch on the menu but we got it without paying.. not sure if this is typical. They were very good!! Nice thick and crunchy onion rings- no undercooked batter flavor on these. (Thats my pet peeve for onion rings) Parking: this is downtown... good luck. Youre better off parking a ways away and walking. Or taking transit if you're local is always my recommendation ;)

Came in for a bite before the AC/DC show at Ford Field and was greeted by a bar full of aged rock and rollers, aka my kind of people! One lady at the bar pre-gamed for the show a little too hard and upchucked in front of us (ROCK AND ROLL, MFERS!) but the staff got it cleaned up with the quickness and without fanfare. Most people didn't even realized it happened, they were that efficient about clean up. Way to be on top of it, Vollmer's! (even if it wasn't the most pleasant job that fella probably had to do that night). Anyway, once the excitement of all that was over, my party of four ordered some fries and garlic onion rings to split and a duo of sliders each. I went with the Second Breakfast (a burger topped with a fried egg, maple bacon, arugula and cheddar) and their version of a shrimp po'boy. Both sliders were fantastic. I'd easily get both again. Of the two sides I preferred the onion rings but I wouldn't say no to a basket of the fries again. Two sliders and splitting the sides provided more than enough nourishment for a dinner for me and, at about $5-6 per slider, was also quite affordable! Order at the bar for both drinks and food. Perfect spot to grab a casual bite or a drink before a show at the Fox or Fillmore or a game at Comerica or Ford Field. Just make sure when you order that next drink that you remember, you're not 21 anymore!

This place is not new, however it's still in the identification phase I feel. We stopped him for drinks and it was dark and quiet like a cigar bar but the bartender explained to me that they have live music on occasion and the place gets very busy. All the rest of the time she said the crowd is off and on which is nice for the area that it's in you know it's a place you can always get a drink, however I think it still needs to find its identity in an area known for foot traffic, sports events and concert venues

Perfect location if you are avoiding a long line at the Fillmore!! Enjoyable vibes and cheap beer. Have to go to the bar to be served which is understandable. Will recommend to friends going to shows or games in the area.

This restaurant made me so happy when I entered that I immediately screamed "I LIKE DOG BONES" I don't know why, but I the vibe was so good boner (my dog) was very happy. Thank you Christopher vollmer for this amazing experience and giant boot. And also I have 2 kinds of fungus from the food, would recommend!

Very liberal bar. If you wanna read a book and drink a beer then this place might be for you! Showed up there for March madness and they had the weather channel on the only 2 tvs in the place. Cheap drinks though

So, if you are looking for a great spot before games/concerts downtown, try Vollmer's! The vibe is on point. Drinks and beer selection is great. We had the seasoned fries and crab cake po'boy....really good! The bartender was very attentive!
