I had the most distressing experience at this Subway location (1100 Grand River, East Lansing). I came to pick up lunch for myself and two coworkers, but the manager--an irate, heavyset white woman--completely escalated a simple situation. She was hostile, rude, and unnecessarily aggressive. Despite remaining polite and patient, she yelled at me multiple times, falsely accused me of being a problem, and threatened to call the police over nothing. Feeling unsafe, I left before the police arrived because, as a Black woman, I feared for my life. This behavior was discriminatory, humiliating, and completely unprofessional. I will never return to this location and urge Subway to address the racist and hostile culture here. Customers deserve respect, not harassment.

The establishment sucks. Employees re aggressive toward customers and the manager stands by and watches it. When you react in the same manner the manager then wants to claim you're being confrontational and threatens to call the police. I couldn't care less. I called the police myself because the situation was unprecedented and the employee was aggressive. Incident happened during the night shift. I can't help but think it was racism. POC stay away from there, they don't deserve your business.

Went in there and waited around for about 5 minutes before a worker came in from outside and smelled like cheech and chong and said "im closed" even though the doors were unlocked and i've been to this location before at a much later time and online it says it's open until 11pm. Also looking around in the containers as i waited, there's old food debris everywhere. Will not be back. No stars

Fantastic establishment. great for food. I love the warm feeling you always get when walking into a subway. It's like a welcoming back home after a long trip.

wow. 45 minute wait for them to make my sandwich. i was trying to convenience myself by placing my order through the app, and per the instructions, arrived exactly at the time they said it'd be ready (i even waited in my car for 5 minutes as a buffer). i'm still waiting inside the restaurant, it's been 45 minutes, and one of the employees literally just walked in front of me snacking on a cookie, refilling their own personal drink. i can hear the other employee sweeping in the back. there is no need for that at this time. their excuse was that they were backed up on mobile orders. but tell me why we are moving at a snails pace, when clearly you have an entire restaurant full of customers. they started turning away people who came in to place in-person orders. this is ridiculous. these are two fully capable adults. i would be embarrassed if i was the management of this branch. seriously get it together.

The owner at this location, Tim, is committing coupon fraud. I was told the franchise is independently owned so he doesn't recognize corporate coupons...except he does, but only certain ones. If you want to use the ones he "doesn't accept" you have to make additional purchases to make up for the coupon. I was told not to call corporate, I was given no receipt, and I was told I could only call the owner at a certain time. The food was bad and the portions were small. Do not eat here.

The ONLY person keeping the St. Joe and Creyts location alive right now is Andi (blonde with glasses - sorry if I got the name wrong). She is the kind of person business owners could only WISH to have working for them. She could single handedly run a smooth lunch rush better than all 3 of the other employees combined. Her soeed and patience is beyond professional and her attitude is great. She should be making at least twice the wage of the other employees there. Keep it up, girl!

The lady working at around 4pm made me a very cold meatball sub, I didn't realize it came out of the fridge until I went to go eat it. She seemed like she genuinely didn't care about making my sub. Just a little disappointing that I tipped her very well knowing it was around the holiday seasons and she made no friendly conversation with me, asked if I wanted anything to drink or chips unfriendly

It's just like any other Subway! It has the same sub specials, it has the same cheesy floor tiles and decor, it's a Subway. The only advantage this has over the others in the area is that it is close to campus, but during the lunch rush, it doesn't get as busy as the one on campus. The staff from my past experience are also very friendly. But after all is said, its still just a Subway!
