Fun space in the heart of Hamtramck's commercial strip that seems to feature a revolving door of lively events. It's got a combination of open space in the front area plus a few more private rooms and a kitchen in back, so, suitable for a variety of types of events.

There is a second location in Oak Park that is a cafe called The D Loft Cafe. They include a card for the D Loft in the bag with your food. BUT hopefully you will never see it because you'll listen to me and not go there. The food is horrible. Awful. Terrible thing to happen to my mouth. The "gumbo" is watery and was not thickened at all. It should not be called gumbo but maybe a gumbo-inspired soup. The smoked macaroni and cheese is awful - Bland and not cheesy. I'm not sure but based on the menu on Doordash and the way the food was served, I'm not convinced that they actually cook it bu serve up someone else's creations. Whichever it is, they should stop.

Gave my son a party 2 weeks ago. Floors were sticky. I was told that they probably just used too much solution and didn't have time to go over them again. Not a good answer. They were not this way when I did my tour. Left the venue in the same condition it was in when we arrived and the security gentleman seemed very impressed. Why am I still waiting on my security deposit that should have been processed 2 days after the event.

Although the space was perfect for my baby shower, the owner was completely unprofessional. I paid an additional $50 for an extra hour of set up time for my group (11:00am-1:00pm) for set up. At 11:00am. my group is calling me letting me know there is no one there and it's locked. the number on file wasn't getting answered. Has to find another number and send an email to the owner. About 11:30 is when someone came. i asked for a refund of the $50 for the inconvenience of time that was waisted. The owner Brandi, ignored my request and kept offering wxtra time to stay later. I declined because tje delayed time in the begining put us behind. She has yet to refund for the inconvenience we had and was super rude and wouldn't take accountability for her actions of her business. will not be doing business with them again.

The venue was very nice. I had a really good time at our event. With that being said, everything else could have been a lot better. We were not provided the number of chairs and tables that we paid for. When we went to view the venue after paying for the deposit, the room was dirty from the last event. There was food all over the floor. Prior to getting into the building, we were waiting past the scheduled time we were supposed to meet. I think the worst part was the process of paying the security deposit. I didn't really feel comfortable with their method. We had to get a money order, but instead of filling it out, they had us leave it blank, sign the bottom, and put it in an envelope. I've never heard of anything like this, and we were worried that somebody could just put their name on it and take the money. When we got it back, the envelope was open. Both times we dropped off the deposit and picked it up, we were waiting for so long. We ended up going to someone's house to drop it off after waiting. And picking it up was worse. My mom picked it up for me, and she was waiting on her for an hour and a half to pick it up. My mom was supposed to go pick up my brother from school after picking it up, and she asked her to go get him and "double back" and she would meet her back there at 6. Gas is over $5 right now and she doesn't live near the place she had to meet her. And my brother's school is not close either. My mom was back there at 6 and she was not. She hadn't even left and my mom was very upset. I was trying to talk to her and she left her work phone with her children. So i was talking to them trying to figure out what was going on. She finally arrives at the office, sends her young son to the car with the deposit, and left. She didn't apologize to my mom, which she should have considering what she just put her through. So I said all that to say that the venue was acceptable. But the person we dealt with was very unprofessional and we will not be using their services ever again.

I hosted a baby shower here. The space itself is bright and open, you can decorate pretty much however you'd like. We had plenty of seating. Being able to have full use of the kitchen area made things so easy. Brandy was personable and accommodating in helping secure the date. Ann was there on the date of the event, she was welcoming and so nice. She was available throughout to help or answer questions. These ladies made hosting this baby shower a breeze.

Extremely UNPROFESSIONAL, BAD BUSINESS The D Loft relocated, the old location was a loft multi level and the new location is an open space. As a paid customer, I was not notified on the relocation. My contract was with the old location, I booked the location because of the floor plan layout. I requested a full refund because The D Loft breached the contract. However, after months requesting a full refund, they would not give me my money back. Next move is going to court!

I will never recommend the venue to ANYONE!!! I booked The DLoft Clubhouse (new location) 6 months in advance for a party. I had a walk-through, paid deposit plus additional payment after that. Called to add more hours for set-up to my party time and received a reply that the hall was booked. I then stated that it was booked by my. After going back and forth for a couple of days , I finally spoke with a young lady (very understanding), not the owner (2 thumbs down), she then told me that my date was double booked and it was booked by a "famous star" and she couldn't tell me the name but they had a contract so pretty much I had to change my date or pick one of their other locations! I nicely told her I picked that venue for a reason 6 MONTHS IN ADVANCE to eliminate this problem. I told switching wasn't an option and I wanted all my money back. She had the nerve to tell me the owner doesn't give refunds. I told her I would think by them making the so called mistake, that as a business owner she would have enough customer service and give me my money back. Well I received my part of my money back and then the rest after emailing and calling. BADDDDD BUSINESS. After talking to people I got the same vibe from them. DLoft you need to do better!!!

If I could leave a ZERO for the rating, I would. I do NOT recommend this place to a soul. It is definitely overpriced for the service that is provided. Customer service is everything and unfortunately they lack basic customer service skills. I had issues with overbooking, prices changing, and lack of information being provided until days before your event just to name a few things.

Probably one of the most horrible experiences I had coordinating an event. From the initial price hackling, inaccurate mention of fees, and cleanliness of the venue, needless to say I won't be back. I was apart of an event that occurred this past month and we arrived to a venue in which the previously rented patrons did not remove their decorations or set up. I was told that the building would be ready for my team to begin setting up promptly at 12:30pm. Mind you, I was charged an additional fee to secure the venue for an additional for hours to set up prior to my event. Upon arriving, although the owner Brandy, stated she would be in the assure the venue was ready, she never arrived. We had to completely take down decor from the previous event and do a full cleaning of the venue before we were even able to vegan our set up. This caused numerous delays in our function, despite the fact that we were charged a cleaning fee up front that assured we would walk into a clean slate. The owner had the worst attitude and was very unprofessional up to a three week delay in receiving our security deposit back. Needless to say, this place is a pure scam ran by the most ghetto-fied business person I've ever encountered in life. Save your money, you will be better off securing a space ANYWHERE but here.
