Woke up to a bedbug on my arm (was bit even) , then when brought up to management we were kicked out and the cops were called on us because the management didn't abide by his word for reimbursement. Place is so ghetto, smells like cigarettes throughout the whole building, also people just park in the lot and chill until 2/3 am. Sonif your in the Lansing area on business, this is definitely NOT the place. You will be hearing from my attorney as well...

Only option in the area unfortunately. Do not stay here. Probably the worst hotel I have visited and I've been to parts of the Middle East most people don't go. Had to travel to Michigan because my son's mother was in the ICU. Didn't know how long I needed so booked a week. Got in town on a Friday. She died on Monday. Checked out early but because I didn't cancel 10 days prior no refund. ‍ This place hasn't been updated or fixed in what looks like 20yrs. Our bathroom door needed 50lbs of force to close for starters. All paint was oozing off walls, and the place reeked of knock off cologne to mask the mold and old cigarette smell. Not too mention my booking was off by a day so when I got in town had to book a single night on Friday. Normal rate is $118 and that's too much to charge for a room in this shit hole. There's a graduation happening at the local college. One night was $396. we would've been more comfortable sleeping with the bums outside And saved money. AVOID this place like the plague

Everything could be improved because there was blood, hair, Cheez-Its in the bed, some kind of brown stains on the floor, it was really hot, and the bathroom paint was peeling,bed bugs

We arrived at the hotel and the man at the desk argued with me about charging the room to the card I entered during booking. He kept telling me it wouldn't work and I had to swipe the card. Since it was a digital card I was unable so he finally did it. We parked at the back of the hotel and entered the main floor hallway. The smell of mildew, urine and weed hits immediately. The halls were dim, scary, dirty and are very unwelcoming. The room, upon first glance, was ok. It had been a long day followed by a long drive so I took my pain medication and we sat down to eat dinner. While eating we noticed how dirty the walls were, then how filthy the floors were. I had put on a pair of brand new socks and they were gross within minutes. The dresser and night stand were broken and had a sharp wood board sticking out. We got ready for bed and my son, while investigating the room, found a strangers dirty underwear in the safe. Then the final straw was when we opened the bed to find the sheets stained and crumbs in the beds. We decided we wanted to leave. We didn't feel safe or clean. We called the customer service number and was told they could not have us moved to another property nor could they cancel and refund our money because my status was "checked in". She said it was up to the hotel. The men at the front desk were very rude and refused to refund my money for the night and threatened to call the police if I didn't stop asking for my money back. They did not meet the expectation that was set in the description of the room nor did they meet the Choice Hotel "Commitment to clean initiative" standards that were promised to me as part of the agreement to rent the room. Despite this, they would only refund the second night. We did not stay and left the property. I have photos and videos of the room. This hotel was so gross I was not willing to try a different room.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The hotel is old and worn down. The doorknob on my bathroom door was broken and did not discover this until the door was closed. I was locked in the bathroom for 10 minutes until I forced it open.

This place was filled with bedbugs and ticks all over the bed and the whole building smelled like chlorine on top of all of that they charge me double the room price after I canceled never go here

This is the worst hotel I ever stayed in. Upon check in it took 30 minutes for someone to show up at front desk. It is understaffed. My fiance went to look for the staff. Or else we would still be sitting there. A guest was walking around with a beer n hand cursing obscenities the entire time. The hotel looks terrible as if it's under construction. The house keeping comes really late. The water drains out slow. The linen looks dirty. The entire place should be shut down until further review. I renewed my stay earlier and was locked out of my room. I will never stay at a quality inn again in my life. I give this hotel 0 stars the worst ever. And the rooms by the pool downstairs is noisy due to poor parenting and the hotel staff does nothing. And id unavailable at the front desk. By far the worst.

There are a lot of One Star reviews for this hotel. I'll give it two. It ain't great. Dingy, run-down, worn out. But, at the same time, the staff was very nice. Clearly they're doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Got there late, around 11:00 PM. Got checked in. Easy. Good service. Got my key. Got into my room. Seemed okay. Walked out for a minute. When I came back my key didn't work. Went to the desk. Got another key. Clerk apologized. No problem. Gave me a new key. Tried it. Nothing. Now my stuff's locked in the room and there's no way in. Shift change. No problem. Next guy shows up. He knows how to get in. Giant coat hanger. After 15 minutes, I'm in. New keys to a new room. Again, apologies and, look, the place is run down. Those guys did the best the could with what they had. New room was okay. Walls were super thin. Could hear conversations next door. Nothing loud, but still. Breakfast was about average for a Choice hotel. Friendly staff. Can't recommend the place. Could be much better with some money spent on repairs and renovation.

Not only did my children and myself get locked inside our hotel room for 30 minutes, called front desk MULTIPLE times from room phone and personal phones and NO ONE answered then brought up how we were locked inside and called the front desk and questioned them as to why we weren't answered they made it seem as though they weren't at fault and rudely dismissed us. Outrageous we had to have our adjoining room neighbor to our room door let us out and then we're told at the front desk that there is no refund optional, but we can get a different room. Yeah, won't be a customer of Quality Inn on Grand River Avenue anytime soon again.
