Pretty particular about my pizza. Have been trying to get here for some time. Was not disappointed. At all. Pizza is solid. The place is pretty cool. And the service was no-nonsense... but friendly. Will be back

Keep hearing about this place from everyone about being one of the best pizza in metro Detroit. Menu is simple. Pizza is thin and crispy, has a good char on the bottom to give additional flavor. Ingredients are fresh, pizza doesn't feel greasy or heavy even with pepperoni Ravioli is good too. Since it is so popular and the restaurant is small. It does get crowded pretty quick.

Looking at the pizza fresh out of the oven I was convinced it'd be a 5 star experience. Well, pretty close. Toppings are good quality, menu is appropriately limited without silly stuff (though I'd love to find an artisan pizza place that hasn't succumbed to hot honey). It's the crust that falls flat for me. They do a great job getting a bubble and char, but the dough itself is bland and cracker-like. I wish it were sourdough, or even a higher hydration % and a longer ferment, with some more salt. In fact, the plain margherita pizza, with its dusting of Parmigiano, was a little better than the pepperoni-sausage-mushroom, because that cheese adds some needed salt and umami. It's still very good pizza, and in Melvindale, of all places. And as an independent restaurant offering good product at a fair price, it deserves your business.

I wanted to like this more. Don't get me wrong. It's good. It's more than good. It was not great though. You better have some spare time because it could take some time to get your food. They have a ticket system and all orders are placed in person. We probably waited 20 or so minutes to order (about 1:00 on a weekday) and another 15-20 for the food. We got two larges. The first was a custom pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom and the second was The Don. The Don was good. Crust had good flavor and toppings were good. The free house ranch was very good. The custom pizza has potential to be great due to the taste of the flavors, but it was so floppy and almost impossible to eat the whole slice with one hand. I'm not sure if this was a fluke or if they are always floppy. Perhaps, I'll ask for it well done next time. Respect to Fredi for all he does (was cool seeing him making the pizzas) and a return visit is currently being looked at.

Amazing pizza, i never taste as delicious as this pizza before. They don't orders over the phone. When you go grab a number and wait till they call you. The owner makes certain number of pizza per day and when it's finished, no more pizza available so go early and expect to wait 30 min. It really worth every minute you wait for

Magical pizza. So freaking good. Best neopolitan style pie in metro Detroit. Grab a ticket and wait until they call you to order. Just Fredi and his assistant slinging pies and baking them to perfection in an ancient pizza oven. No frills, just good pizza. Expect to wait, but it's worth it on every level. Fredi has a great charity that equips sensory rooms around the state. Top of its class pizza from Fredi, a class act. It doesn't get better than this!

I came here with my sisters a few days ago and I had a good time overall. We came in at 3:30ish and there was a sign that they were low on pizzas already. I got nervous because I know the hype around this place. We go in get a number and then order maybe 2 or 3 minutes later. I ask her what's available and she said everything so I was really confused. I was still confused because online it says I can still order plain slices but you can't anymore. I ordered the hot honey pizza but not the one on the left side of the menu. I dont know, I got the one with pepperoni on it. I also asked for a cheese pizza and she asked me if I wanted to do half cheese and half pepperoni... I thought she meant for the hot honey but it wasn't. I ended up getting two pizzas which was fine. Just confusing. Overall, pizza was good. The crust was really burnt on both honestly but the flavor was good. It burnt all of our mouths. My sister's roof of her mouth was so burnt that it peeled... I'd never seen that before. Just be careful and don't feel bad to ask the person taking your order questions. It can feel really overwhelming.

Really enjoyed our lunch at Fredi's! The place is busy and we had a short wait. Once we got in, we were able to sit at a table and eat. The pizza was great. My only regret was that I didn't order more! Also, special shout out to Fredi for all he does to support people with Autism in our schools and around metro Detroit.0

What makes this place different from the other places is the quality of the dough and cook of it. They make a good undercarriage and crust that is crispy and has a good bite too it. Fredi also doesn't skimp out on the cheese as the it's loaded with it. I tried "the don" and Clemenza. I preferred the clemenza as it was a lot lighter and balanced pizza compared to the don which felt very heavy for me but was good for only a slice of so. However if you like a meaty filling pizza it's a great choice.

Check Google maps to make sure they open before you go. No call in orders. Take a number. The pizza is worth the wait. The dining room is small it has 2 tables and chairs along the walls with seating outside.
