Been coming to this place since I was very young and I have noticed a dip in quality of the atmosphere and the food but I still come for nostalgia purposes, and that the food tastes close to what I remember it being! The inside definitely needs some work but the staff is very friendly and efficient so I can appreciate that at least. I have since been going to the other buffet down the street because I do feel the quality is a bit better with the food and atmosphere, but this place still brings back good memories for me!

One of the best buffets in Central Michigan for Chinese food. The service is good too with the average ambience. As well, it has a grill for Mongolian barbecue. This is my favorite part of world buffet, fresh vegetables, meat, including beef, chicken and shrimp. But not to be forgotten the sushi bar.

We waited 20 minutes for a table. I went to the restroom (which was filthy and trash overflowing) and when I came back my husband said they had seated a large family that was friends with the hostess behind him because they didn't have a two top available. Come to find out every table seats two people. The waitress came and brought our drinks once (no refills) and never cleared our plates the entire time we were there. The food was mediocre at best. The sushi rolls were decent and rice was cooked perfectly! Everything else was pretty greasy and bland. We won't be coming back and we're very disappointed in the service overall.

This restaurant is a go to for my family. My dad literally comes here at least 6 times a week . I wish they had more meats to choose from but overall a good selection, always fresh food, and fast service. My favorites are the noodles, always so good! Their fried rice is also yummy along with the fried shrimp. The roasted potatoes with veggies are also good. And I love that they have an ice cream machine with cones. The building is pretty large so you'll always find a seat. The staff is friendly and helpful!

For an older person, the price for dinner momentarily shocked me at about $15. However, the variety of food, the tremendous quality of of the food and the quiet ambiance was well worth it. My wife eats mostly veggies, and was in heaven with the choices - both hot and cold. We were there on a Friday, and the fried fish was light, not greasy and flavorful; much like the fish fry's we were used to. To say this was a Chinese Buffet is deceitful. There was so much more. I especially liked the green bean chinese dish, the amazing mussels and the ability to choose ingredients for a personalized stir fry. I actually thought about not writing a review - I would sort of like keeping this great place to myself. We are going back to night; my choice for my birthday meal.

During a visit last night my wife and I realized we have frequented this restaurant for around 18 years or more. We've seen them through a move and many staff changes. They've seen us dating, married, and watched our babies grow. Why we keep coming back is because of a couple of key people and the food! This location was an Old Country Buffet years and years ago and was a great upgrade for World Buffet. The old location couldn't fit all the customers. Plus this location allows for the awesome options of many foods. There are 4 hot bars, a large salad bar, a desert bar with ice cream machines, a sushi bar, and a grill. There is something for everyone! Since discovering this place when we first settled in Lansing, my wife and I have moved twice, for short periods of time, and we have NEVER found anything that compares to the hot, tasty and fresh food we can get here. From simple flavors like the buttered shrimp and perfectly steamed white rice to the crawfish and egg rolls there is so much to eat. We all have our favorites. My parents love to start with large salads when they join us. I always head straight for peanut chicken, green beans, and an egg roll. My 9 yr old craves their buttered shrimp and noodles and my wife can't ever decide because she likes so much! A huge plus for us is the attention they give to stirring the food, replacing things that have sat on the bar too long, and keeping the bar clean and hot. We have never gotten sick from food here except when we've overeaten Sure, this is a lot of Americanized Chinese food, but it also has a lot of regional dishes and there is care and love in things. We will continue to frequent this place as there is nothing that compares.

I just had the joyful experience of World Buffet after years of not going. Just as excellent as I remember! The food was super fresh, and delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive to drink refills. I will definitely recommend this place to others, and will definitely be back.

My significant other and I were craving BD's Mongolian BBQ/hibachi and the closest one to us is still an hour or so away, so we decided to try the World Buffet and Grill. Their hibachi grill had chicken, beef, shrimp, scallops, and eggs for protein, a fair amount of vegetables, two different kinds of noodles, and about six different sauces to choose from. I went with beef, lo mein noodles, green peppers, onions, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, bean sprouts, and snow peas with brown sauce and light sweet and spicy sauce. I also tried some items from their buffet including honey, sesame, and general Tso chicken, peanut chicken, shrimp, fish, and spring rolls. Not really a place we'll venture to often, but overall it wasn't bad for the price. (~$26.00 + tip for two adult buffets)

Used to be our go to place but NOT anymore. While eating lunch sitting in the booth closet to the dessert bar I saw something behind my husband. I told him to turn around and look and there was a cockroach crawling on the wall. Immediately put down our silverware and we walked out, never to return! Don't know what's happened to this place. Wouldn't recommend!
