This hotel was kind of a miss. The lobby is super nice and staff was friendly. Rooms were stylish but the details really weren't there. Grout in the shower was dirty. Towels were pretty threadbare. Beds were very uncomfortable, with slumping in the middle, and smaller than a standard king. I expected better from this hotel. Wouldn't stay here again.

Taniea, was fantastic at the front desk! I got in late around 11:30 PM and she was super friendly and even was parking the cars as well. Just a super nice young woman! I basically just slept so no complaints room was clean and AC was cold. Just wanted to give a shout-out to a Star employee.

Let me start by saying this was an absolutely excellent experience!! One of the BEST I've had in a long time and I stayed at 3 different Marriott properties just in the past week, so I travel way too much!! Checking in was spot on perfect... Friendly, helpful, explained everything about the property I needed to know, acknowledged my status and offered my perks, etc... It was great! The room was excellent! A nice, quiet HVAC system that provided great temperature in the room my entire stay! The housekeeping provided daily was excellent too, and I pay attention to the little details - They hit them all! The TV in the room was great as it offered nice, interesting channels and so much selection!! Water pressure and drain in the shower was perfect. Bed comfort was perfect. I used the hotel's restaurant for breakfast and dinner several times during the stay and that was amazing! The only issue was self-parking - The lot is very small and tight. Overall, I loved the place, the grandeur, the beauty, the way they renovated to update and modernize what needed it was all excellent. Definitely highly recommend staying here!

The water pressure was barely a dribble and the hotel knew this just didn't mention it before I not only reserved but paid in advance with no cancellation! . I was given a mere 500 Marriott points for what they deemed an Inconvenience but is really a critical thing if you can't shower or even brush your teeth properly . The hotel personnel were great . The bar was great as was Lonnie's Reno room . Even the valets were fantastic . I feel I was dupped into paying four star prices when they knew the water pressure was so low too can shower properly .

No one ever answers the phone on any of the 7 options they give you when you call to ask a question. You have to listen for a long time to get a simple question answered because they have 7 options to pick. The last one 7 is to reach someone at the front desk, I tried it 5 times in the course of an hour. No one ever answered though each time it rang 15-20 times. Then I tried all the others and guess what? No one picked up for any of the options. You could leave a message if planning a wedding. Otherwise you are out of luck. Contempt for customers.

Josiah at the bar is amazing. Try his signature lemon drop and you'll be hooked! The jack and cokes are great too. Fabulous atmosphere and excited to check out the jazz club downstairs.

Great location! Cheerful staff. Should have requested a blanket for the bed. We had a great breakfast in the dining room. I will stay here again. We were here at Christmas and took the trolley to the Plaza and to the Market square for shopping and dining.

I have stayed at The Ambassador for the last time. This past weekend, we went to the UFC in Kansas City. We got back later than expected so I requested a 2pm checkout, which is 2 hours earlier than my Marriott benefits allow. I was told that it was approved with no issues. Shortly after drifting off to sleep, there was a knock at the door. It was housekeeping. Then the phone rang, just a dial tone. Then the door had a knock again. Mind you, the do not disturb sign was on the door and we had an approved 2pm checkout. It was housekeeping again. I contacted the front desk and they let me know that they had communicated our 2pm checkout to housekeeping but will talk to them. I tried to doze off again and had another knock at the door from housekeeping. I decided I obviously wasn't going to get the sleep I needed so i jumped in the shower to get ready and head to the airport. I got out and was starting to get dressed and there was another knock at the door, this time followed very quickly by a key card being inserted into the door and the housekeeper trying to enter the room while I wasn't dressed. Thankfully my wife was able to get to the door and force it shut before she came in. i notified the front desk and was told management would contact me. That evening, I got an automated email message from the front office manager asking about my stay. It was the same automated message I have gotten every time that I have stayed on this property word for word. I decided to reply and share my experience with him. I got a response 4 days later (this morning) apologizing for not getting back to me sooner but he had been out of town. He went on to let me know that the message that was sent via email was a direct email message from him, not an automation. I took a screenshot of my inbox and showed him where it was the same as the prior 3 emails I have gotten post-stay. Rather than trying to fix the issue and sincerely apologize, the guy decided to be untruthful and act like he actually cared. The service issues at this property are systemic. It starts with leadership and trickles down through the entire staff. If you are looking for a quaint hotel with a good location and aren't concerned at all about getting marginal service let along best in class, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would recommend a Motel 6 or something along those lines. You don't expect much from them so they will likely overacieve. This property, on the other hand, will leave you completely disappointed.

The Ambassador is a very well appointed boutique hotel within a 3-5 minute walk to the Power and Light District. Which is great for bars and restaurants. The hotel itself boasts an in-house restaurant, American Reserve, that has a very nice bar and excellent drinks. I myself had the brussel sprouts and the salmon dish during my stay and both were excellent. They were pretty busy during my stay as there was a conference going on during my stay, but that didn't interfere with any room noise or lack of service. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I also ordered room service for breakfast and had the avocado toast which was also very well done. The gym is decent sized and consists of a peleton bike, 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical machine, 2 adjustable benches and DBs ranging from 5-55lbs. The room itself is very comfy and has an excellent walk in shower with great water pressure and almost immediate hot water. You can count on traditional amenities like coffee and robes in the room as well as a fridge you can use that has drinks for purchase as well as room to store your own drinks and food.
