I have been staying at this hotel for 30+ years. It's close to everything...the Plaza, the Nelson, BBQ, Westport. And it's surprisingly inexpensive for it's location. The rooms are always clean and comfy. The staff is generally helpful and pleasant. I will admit this time making reservations was a b*tch! The online reservations was a phone call to some odd office where the guy who answered seemed uninterested and incompetent. Come to find out...he was. I called the next day to the hotel front desk because it just felt weird. The desk confirmed I had no reservation. So I explained what happened and not only did the front desk confirm my reservation but gave me an additional discount for my trouble. So call the hotel directly. Do not go through their online reservation service. Our stay was as nice as always. I thought I had left a small travel bag in the room. So a couple hours into the next leg of our trip, I called the hotel and inquired if anyone had turned in my small bag. The gal at the desk said no one had and she couldn't go check for me during the call. She promised to let me know by the end of the day. This was nearly 6 months ago we stayed. I still have no all regarding my bag. I found it in the car thankfully.

Absolutely terrible service, Very dirty and just not what you expect by the pictures....first impression wasn't great considering the toilets were filthy, the bed sheet had a bright red stain, And the hallways smell like meth. Tried to cancel but they will charge you in full for the room, Go figures considering the state of this place. Thankfully we weren't in the room long but we were coming back from the local bars at 3AM only to be greeted by the front desk lady threatening us to leave for "breaking into cars" great.....now on top of the filth we can't park and are being threatened? Please PLEASE go anywhere else the pictures are VERY deceiving don't pay $150 for motel 6 quality. I recommend the AC hotel it's the same price for extremely better service and quality. Waste of $150 don't make the same mistake especially if you're a fellow Iowan visiting!!!!

This is no longer a best western plus but a Wyndham trademark property now. It's been renovated I think in the last 5 yrs but it's still a nasty hotel. I noticed when checking out they have design boards for renovation in 2024. Since it's august 29 and nothing is started, wonder how that works...Because it changed names when I booked it thru hotels.com I didn't realize I had stayed here years ago until I got here. Dirty hotel. Guest room carpet is nasty. Corridor carpeting is gross. Stained and very dirty looking. Good thing it's being replaced. There was a woman working the front desk last night who was most unpleasant, if not down right rude. (Green hair) Unless they also renovate the staff, not sure how much it will help!

The manager, name starts with K, he told me, but was not wearing a nametag, tall white man wearing a ridiculous suit that was way to tight on him, informed me after I arrived that the hotel was "dog" friendly, but not "cat," friendly. I asked him why would they allow dogs that bark and hump and poop on the floor and bite people but not my sweet cat that sleeps most of the day, and poops in a cat box, he said because he has run much bigger hotels and "cats are a pain in the a$$." I then told him that was BS and he threatened to call KC police and have me arrested for trespassing to which I told him to go ahead and call them and tell them, "There's an irritated short man here calling me out on my hypocrisy about pets," and see how fast they come running over. Kenny, the manager made it about him. He is a ridiculous, power-hungry tall man who has a minuscule brain and an even smaller member. Avoid this place at all costs.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT stay here. Room 412 has bed bugs. I was here from March 2nd 2024 to March 3rd 2024. I checked out on the 3rd feeling fine until afternoon rolled around and I noticed my back was itchy. I took these pictures 2 days apart.

My room was infested with ants. They bit me and my wife and got akin our luggage. It was a real big inconvenience, we had to rewash our clothes no help from management. They just refunded our money and rushed us off. We will never stay there again.

They advertise as a pet friendly hotel. But they don't tell you that the additional pet fee cost $75. So you're either forced to pay the price of essentially a second room. Or forfeit your entire transaction as they do not offer a refunds.

- Rooms looks and smells old and many things need to be renewed, like the carpet. Excellent reception, very friendly service.

Stay away! This place is AWFUL! As I write this review I am cancelling my second night and moving to a Sheraton for a $100 more. My kid and I arrived late from our flight and the lady that checked us in, although nice, didn't even know where our room was located. Well, once I found the room it was even further downhill from there! The room as noted in other reviews smelled like must/smoke/air freshener combo, and some of the sheets were torn. I slept a total of three hours because our room abutted the elevator and it just opening and closing all night. Also, drunk hotel guests were coming in until 4am and shouting in the lobby. This place SUCKS!! Side note- the woman at the front desk in the morning was very nice!

A friend and I have been staying at the Seville Plaza Hotel for the past 8 years, 3 nights a visit, twice a year. 1 through 5 years; Excellent! Great friendly staff, good breakfast, accommodating housekeeping staff, etc. Then, a couple years ago, a "different management company" (according to the staff) had just taken over prior to our visit. Service was noticeably not as good. Less friendly, staff were new and not experienced or trained, etc. So, last year, my friend and I decided to stay somewhere else. Then, for this year, I noticed the change in brands from Best Western to Wyndham. My friend and I gave it a shot, thinking the changeover in brands/ownership might make a difference. WRONG! *At check in we were standing at the desk for 10 minutes (only ones there). The only person around was a guy smoking on the back patio. He came in the lobby and turned out to be the desk clerk. He didn't apologize for making us wait to smoke and couldn't password into the computer. So, 25 minutes after arriving in the lobby-and the only ones there-we got our room keys. *Breakfast: I don't expect 2-3 star hotels to have a great breakfast, but I do expect it to me fit for human consumption. The hot food was not edible, and alternatives were slim (cereal and bread). I won't go into details. *Security: My car was broken into in the parking lot, parked right in front of the lobby. The past owners had an overnight security guard. The people at the front desk said they were trying to hire one. Homeless folks were out front on the sidewalk panhandling. Not fault of hotel...sign of the times. Customer Service: I could write two pages on this but will just say it was non-existent. Constantly unfriendly staff. Walk up to the desk and they wouldn't even look up from what they were doing for five minutes, then any request for information was responded to in an irritable manner. The first day we informed the staff that the elevator was not running correctly. Never saw a repair crew, as it continued to malfunction during each day of the stay. Get up on the 4th day to check out and the elevator is out of commission. We were on the 4th floor. Suitcases, golf clubs, cooler...four flights of stairs. Housekeeping: Saw at least 6 housekeeping staff in the hotel throughout the stay. We were not asked if we wanted housekeeping. During the stay housekeeping was not in the room, and we were never offered it. This facility and location could be a lucrative investment if they focused on the most important thing: Customers. Without them you won't survive. Crappy accommodations and horrible customer service have never been a formula for success in the hospitality business. We are totally done with this place. Stay at your own risk.
