When the weather's good, expect the garage doors to be open and inviting you inside. I've eaten at Conchita Tacos (next to /upstairs from Kon Tiki) more times than I care to admit (okay, over 5 times.) I've tried nearly everything on the menu, minus the fries. Ordering is usually at a kiosk or with a member of the staff. It's fast casual, so set expectations that way in terms of service. Kansas City has good tacos (all over KCK especially.) I'd classify these taxos as slightly upscale, but totally worth the extra cost. The quality, care and love from the team shows. The corn tortillas are hand made with a gorgeous masa made from organic corn. You can smell and taste the difference. I usually get 3 tacos and split a side of totopos and salsa molcajete. I usually get the Al Pastor, Pescado (fried fish) and Camaron Poblano (Shrimp). The Salsas also have a wonderful luck of spiciness. Anytime I'm near the Crossroads or Downtown and want a quick bite that satisfies, you'll find me here. Just look for the "Tacos" sign with a lit up arrow!

We went to visit Kon Tiki and had no idea that this was an option of food to have at the cocktail bar. This delicious spot is right next to or shares the same space as Kon tiki which makes it easy to order food while you are sitting at the bar. They are open late and have different options of things to try. I tried the carne asada fries with al pastor instead and the steak quesadilla. The fries were absolutely amazing.. 100% perfect! Our food came out fairly quick and more importantly piping hot. Everyone was so friendly and educational about what we could order. Omg, please if you can.. try those fries!

Head up the stairs from Baltimore Ave and enter the unassuming door on the bright blue building for some tasty tacos in a cute atmosphere. You can place your order at the end of the counter closest to the door, or you can order online. Your order will appear at the opposite end of the bar in an adorable orange and blue box when it's ready. The orange and blue boxes can comfortably fit up to 4 tacos. There is indoor and outdoor seating -- seems like this would be a great place to hang out outside with the Kon Tiki drinks and Conchita tacos when the weather is warm! Looks like you can take your food over to Kon Tiki next door. I ordered three tacos: Al pastor, shrimp, and fish. The Al pastor was a little dry but was saved by the salsa I got on the side. The fish taco was the best, and I liked the crunchy corn on the shrimp taco. I don't feel like the portions or deliciousness of the tacos are worth $4.50 per taco, but it was a tasty meal. Conveniently located by the Baltimore Ave angle parking, which is a solid bet for any time besides a first Friday weekend.

Cool spot with a tiki bar downstairs. The tacos were just okay though sadly. Maybe they were partially hoping that people would just come up from the downstairs bar to eat after drinking a few so they wouldn't have to put too much effort in.

I ordered the Asada Loaded fries and I enjoyed my meal. The steak was seasoned very well and fries were crispy and not soggy. I will say service for food was fast even though it was a busy night. I will definitely be coming back to grab some more.

WOW, the homemade corn tortillas are sooooo good! The al pastor is perfectly seasoned. The fish ones are just right crunchy, but still tender inside and light. I wanted to try them all! I will be back!

I got the shrimp taco and 2 fish tacos they don't have chicken and my friend had the carne asada fries. The shrimp taco was good but the fried fish tacos were not good and I didn't finished them. The meat of the fish had a weird taste and residue on it. My friend carne asada were initially good but after the top layer it was really overwhelming salty like the accidentally dropped the salt canister in the fries. And then they had lemon water available that was not good either.

Conchita shares a building with Kon Tiki bar but is open for lunch, while the bar that is downstairs does not open until later in the day. I stopped in for lunch at a bit before noon a couple of weeks after their opening. All ordering is done at the wall kiosk and credit card payment only. Conchita's menu is small and simple - 5 styles of tacos and fries. Tacos are $4.49 each or 3 for $11.99. I chose the pastor, shrimp and calabaza with corn tortilla. At $4 each these were some of the smallest tacos around, and using only one tortilla, be prepared for them to rip apart as soon as you pick them up - grab a fork at the condiment bar. The pastor was decent as were the 3 small shrimps on my second offering, The Calabaza was nothing more than diced zucchini, peppers and pico - bland. Overall, these were not worth $4 or $4.50 a piece, a solid in house option for when you need to sober up from having too many Mai Tai's downstairs, but definitely not destination worthy for a lunch. When there are so many authentic taquerias just a few blocks away on SW Blvd that offer cheaper, bigger and tastier; I'm not sure that I would go back for food, but I am eager to slam a Zombie or two at their sister bar.

Don't let the non-descript door fool you. The fish tacos had me going back for seconds within a 24-hour timeframe. One bite of that perfect crisp and flakey-goodness and I was sold. I also tried the al pastor and mushroom tacos which were yummy and marinated perfectly, stuffed to the brim with all the good stuff you want in street taco style. Mmm mmm good. Clean, intimate, cozy space with great patio space for nice weather. I'll be back!
