We are in the middle of moving to the West Coast, so our stay right now is just one day. Their service was great. Always friendly, ready to answer your questions, and have no problem with helping you out. Walkability There are lots of places close to the hotel. You could easily walk for 12 minutes and get to the Cheesecake factory

I would recommend this hotel but not the parking. We were unsure of the area/location since we arrived late at night. The parking was not great. The spots were very tight and I didn't love that parking was under the hotel and accessible to anyone on the streets. The rest of the hotel was nice. The staff was friendly and they went above and beyond to leave my niece cookies and a hand-written note in the room upon our arrival to congratulate her on her graduation from high school. Such a nice touch and our family really appreciated it! The beds were conformable and the room was clean. The weight room and pool were great! The weights were new and the room didn't smell nasty like most hotel weight room. I was really pleased. The continental breakfast was also good with a nice variety of food. I give the stay a 4 out of 5 and I would go back to stay here!

I think the 3.5 current status isn't consistent with my experience. I will say, they lose a star with the $20 per day parking for a really crappy tight parking garage out of a horror story. My room was very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything is easily walkable from this location.

Stayed here for four nights - here for a family funeral. Pros: **great location - less than 10 minute walk to the Country Club Plaza (great dining and shopping area of KC) **The two African American women who work the front desk in the mornings are very friendly **Check in was easy/fast **The Business Center has EVERYTHING you could need - down to sharpened pencils and a stapler. We printed boarding passes here and it was wonderful. The printing instructions seem daunting, but if you follow them exactly, it works like a charm. **Nice selection at breakfast for the most part **Clean room/bathroom/linens - very clean. **Responds to maintenance requests quickly (see below) **The person with the space buns, facial piercings, and winged eyeliner (in dining services) is quite possibly the friendliest person on earth - they should be working the front desk. Cons: **They charge $20 per night for parking. No hotel should charge for parking unless there are valet services. Parking should be part of the nightly rate. Other Hampton Inns I have stayed in do not charge for parking - this is the first one I have experienced. Be consistent with other hotels in your chain. **Parking garage spaces do not account for SUV's or larger pickup trucks - it's Kansas City, so almost everyone drives one of these. The spaces are stressfully narrow. Park as close as you can to the elevators on each level. **The first two days we were here, there was no skim milk at breakfast. Those with lactose issues should bring their own substitute. The dark roast coffee ran out two of the four mornings we were down there. Perhaps put two of those out instead of one, as it is clearly the most popular coffee choice. **Unless you want to be mowed down by running, unattended children who are trying to get to the waffle machine to make red velvet waffles they won't eat, go before 7:45 **We stayed on the top floor, which we enjoyed as there was no noise above us, but the a/c leaves a LOT to be desired. It is over 102 outside most days this week and the a/c only works on the low speed setting and only cools one side of the room. I called the front desk and they quickly sent up a portable fan, which I appreciated. The maintenance guy, who was very friendly and came at 9:00 at night, says that many of the rooms are wired so that the fan speed cannot be adjusted - it just looks/feel like you can select a speed but it actually doesn't change at all. It only runs on low. Room 926 is one of those, so beware. If you are traveling with someone who is sensitive to heat, don't stay in this room. **They do not change the towels/linens unless you stay for at least five days. Did I mention the heat in KC in the summer?? Change the towels/linens at least every other day, especially during the summer when people may take an extra shower. **Lola, in dining services, has NO PROBLEM changing the trash cans loudly right next to (I mean less than two feet away!) people who are eating. Nobody wants to have a used trash bag waved in the air next to them while their breakfast is in front of them. I'm pretty sure that's a health code violation. The metal trash can lids, when dropped onto a tile floor, reverberate loudly and startled my elderly mother. Do better, Lola. Offer a smile or an apology or something. Wait to change the trash until the rush is over or don't do it while the table next to the can is occupied. She was surly at breakfast the next day, too. People who work out front should appear friendly. **Having to take two different elevators to get to the garage is inconvenient. You have to drag your luggage from the elevator that goes to the rooms across the lobby to the garage elevators. Not so easy for elderly folks, like my mom. Good thing I was there to help her. **There is no guide on the tv in our room. You just have to flip channels to find what you are looking for. Perhaps a channel lineup posted in the room would help. **If you are booking through hotels.com, they will not honor your Hilton Honors status. No free snacks for us, even though we are high up in the program - I mentioned this at the desk, to no avail. The reason we used Hotels.com, rather than booking directly through Hilton website, is because we had a lot of points to use or lose and Hilton could not match the price we got through hotels.com. They still should have honored our HH status.

Stayed here a couple of nights and thought it was an overall decent hotel. Pros: -Room was nice and modern. -Bed was comfortable, although felt a bit more worn down compared to other Hampton Inns I've stayed at in the past. -No cleanliness issues present in the room and its bathroom. -Had a gym/swimming pool like all typical Hampton Inns. -Liked the location. It's tucked away on the side of the Country Club Plaza. So, you won't have to worry about hearing much noise on nearby 47th Street (the main street of the plaza). Cons: -Parking isn't free. They charged $20 a night to park in their underground garage, which I found a little absurd because they already charged a lot for just the room. -Toilet in my room wasn't very good. I don't know if it was just my room, or if it's like this everywhere in the hotel, but the toilet inside my room had to be flushed two times after every use since its suction power wasn't super strong. -The heating system in the room made some really strange sounds. I eventually got used to them, but they were kind of irritating when I slept there my first night. Overall, I had a good stay at the hotel despite some of these problems. I would consider staying here next time I'm in the Kansas City area.

The morning after my arrival the shower drain was clogged and the tub was filling up with who knows what. I called the front desk and a handyman was sent up to fix it. He worked on it for 15 minutes but was unable to unclog. The front desk person was not concerned and offered no apology. On calling the Hotel Manager on my return home, I was told that hotel notes said the tub was cleared. I suggested that the clearance happened after my departure. She offered no simple apology for the disgusting experience. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone based on their total lack of appreciation for their patrons.

Stopped here for a night while in town for a baseball game. What I liked about this location was that it was far enough away from downtown, while still close enough as to not get gouged by Uber pricing. The best part of this one is that there is a free parking garage under the hotel which you can access with your room key. The garage can get overfilled, or if you are against garage parking, the surrounding area is townhomes that are newly built and there is plenty of street-level parking too (07/21) to choose from after dropping off your bags. The morning of checkout we had the breakfast which was absolutely massive - western omelettes, sausage links, fresh bread and bagels, plus coffee and different cereals etc. I essentially live for the Hampton Inn breakfasts - and this one hit the spot. Room was clean, bed was comfy which put me out after being out way too late, and the bathroom was very nice and clean as well.

There are a few different roads to this Hampton. Are they Hampton Roads? This is a great location for a hotel, especially if you love The Country Club Plaza. You can't get much better than staying right in the middle of it. Having said that, the hotel is a little expensive, and the bed definitely wasn't the beautiful Hampton bed that we've had at a couple of our favourite locations. Hamptons can vary from great to bad and this one was a little less than average overall. This location makes up for it.

Please be careful staying in this hotel the sewage backed up into the shower drain. The staff at the hotel, Logan, was very robotic and treated me like a criminal for asking to have access to another room to keep my dog safe and use the bathroom while I went to a planned event. I'm not sure I've ever had such a bad experience. All they had to do was give me access to another room, which they blatantly refused to do.

Clean hotel, but we have been Hilton Honors members for over 20 years. We are given waters when we arrive, as usual which is appreciated! At most hotels we are replenished daily, we weee not here and asked at the desk and were told no, we had to purchase them.....seriously? We didn't have a choice....not very Hilton like...
