So so good! Highly recommend, great service, the food is super authentic and pricing is reasonable.

The good: Most of the dishes were tasty. The not so good: The menu is full of typos, the chicken tibs was dry, service is very slow (we were the only people dining in on a Tuesday night and it look a long time for somebody to bring a menu and then take our order). The server did not check in on us mid-meal. Also the one screen on the wall showed Ethiopian singers (love it!) and then switched to a slideshow of bible verses (that's cool if that's your thing, but it was a turn-off to me). There is better Ethiopian food in the metro. This just felt run down and like they didn't really care how our experience was.

Hidden gem if you must say! I got wind of this mom and pop shop via Yelp in search for new places to try. I'm SO glad I came across this gem, for starters this is a mom and pop establishment, which is a win for me. Very cute and cozy inside, this time around I went with take out. I received a warm welcome and was greeted by everyone in the restaurant. I chose to go with take out this time around, I decided on; 1 SAMBUSA WITH BEEF 10/10 1 SAMBUSA WITH LENTIL 10/10 AWAZE LAMB TIBS 7/10 the flavor of this dish is packed with flavor and was seasoned to perfection. However the lamb was very chewy and not so tender. COLLARD GREEN(RAAFUU) 10/10 seasoned very well, freshness in every bite. RED BEETS 10/10 you must like beets to like this side. Packed with lots of flavor and freshness. ETHIOPIAN RICE 6/10 , I felt like something was missing, it was very bland in my opinion. I highly recommend giving this place a try, I'll definitely be going back especially to try their most popular dish which is the chicken tibs. They also offer combos which I didn't see until after I ordered my food.

Tried the new J&K Ethiopian restaurant this evening and it was an instant favorite. My husband and I were heartbroken when Mesob closed their north location. And we were elated to see a "coming soon" sign for a new African restaurant in the strip by the old KMart at 72nd and I29. We finally tried it this evening and it was fabulous. Very flavorful, good portions, great menu selection and friendly staff. Everything was cooked to order so it took a while but it was worth it. The prices are affordable for every day eating. The owner was helpful with suggestions and you also get free soup when eating in. We cannot wait to go back. I got the veggie combo and my husband got the beef tibs.

It has always been a great spot when in town. I aways a couple rolls and some cheese curds.

Such a great spot especially if you're into hidden gems next to old Kmarts - wonderful service, food and vibe, and very sweet owners. Love all the authentic touches and decor. The food is incredible. I got the Misir Red Wot and a side of the beets. The spices are kickin' and will awaken your taste buds. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful new restaurant 10 minutes from from the airport. I got Firfir which was rolled injera in a delicious stew. I'm vegan so they made it without butter. It was super delicious. My son ordered scrambled eggs with jalapeno and tomato and seasoned with Ethiopian spices. My husband got chicken stew and loved it. The service was quick and portions generous. We will be back!

Don't walk, RUN to this spot. Hands down, best food in the KC metro. Beautifully decorated inside. AND the food! Fresh and favorable! This place will be added to our rotation of regular spots!
