Yard Bar for the win!! Really can't find anything wrong with this place! It's become my new favorite in Westport over Ale House. It has a real tailgating vibe to it because of the yard games and open concept. Games include; Beer(water) pong, Giant jenga, Cornhole, and darts. The games mixed in with plenty of TVs during the football season makes for this the place to be. Giant beer can American flag on the back wall! There's a DJ at night. Our drinks weren't too expensive either. UPDATE: the basement has opened up providing a ton more room, another bar, and more yard games! Including skee-ball! Was invited to a birthday event the atmosphere fear was very party like. They don't have real lemons so when you order drinks just know everything's gonna be fake that is not good to a person who enjoys real real condiments. I enjoyed how spacious it was we were able to grab a table top I drink water with women and it was a vibe. I would come back to this establishment and grab a VIP table.

I went to this bar and while they weren't following covid guidelines well, my friends and I stayed outside unless ordering drinks. However, I left my debit card by mistake. I texted the "text Only" number and showed up to the bar just to have security ignore me, or one dude that worked security yelled at me "no one has seen your fucking card" without any communication to the inside bar. I didn't try to get in line to go in or try to stand in the line for people exciting. I am very disappointed with this college bar and think they could do a better job with literally anything. They are just there to overcharge and freak out on anyone. Their security team is a joke and I hope that Johnny kaws leaves KC.

Firs time visiting this bar. I was familiar with the other location and the turn out is usually great so we decided to check it out. Very spacious area with a open floor so it was easy to navigate through the trenches once it got super busy. The big issue that I have with Johnny Kaws (and I was praying it would be different), is that if you use your card to pay for drinks, they will add a larger tip to your close out tab than what you signed for. I was hoping this issue would have been caboshed at the old location, nope - same sneaky bartenders. It's not about the money for me, it's the principle. It's not appreciated.

We went here Thursday 9/30/22. Didn't know it was $1 drink night, but who can be mad about that right? There was a group of about 50 drunk people that just kept drinking & drinking more & more, getting louder & louder. After they'd consumed even more alcohol, they got the bright idea to attack random people. We saw them start jumping people! A girl walked passed them going to the bathroom. Someone grabbed her by the back of her hair, as she walked passed yanking her to the floor. Then the whole mob of them was on top of her. There's supposed to be security stationed at the bathroom, but I don't think that was the case. By the time security showed up, the girl they attacked was up hysterically trying to figure out what happened & why. A security guard & some other dude - maybe the owner rushed the victim. We thought trying to get to her to see if she was ok. Instead the guard straight manhandled the girl! He was yelling @ her saying everything that just happened was the victim's fault saying he saw her yelling @ people. He didn't see her get jumped. He just saw her after getting up trying to understand what happened & who attacked her. We were trying to tell him it wasn't her fault but he wouldn't listen. The mob split & was now attacking @ least 2 other people while the security was right there. Security couldn't control anything. Some guards were grabbing & holding people, but they wouldn't listen to anyone telling them that they were holding people back, who were victims, who'd already been attacked, making things much worse for some by holding them, allowing them to be further injured. Security never checked to make sure victims were ok. The girl they jumped by the bathroom was bleeding from her nose, mouth, & ears saying her hearing & vision was coming & going. They didn't ID any of the attackers or make any report. Instead they said anybody who was fighting, had to get out (meaning the victims to!) If you can't protect people who are just there to have a good time, trying to support your business, from stuff like this happening inside, that's 1 thing. But to victim blame, then throw a few victims outside @ the same time as the overly intoxicated, aggressive, & extremely violent mob that had already attacked them, is a good way to get people killed. I hope I never have to witness anything like what I saw ever again in life. We left & watched the cops fail @ protecting the victims to. The cops were also way too outnumbered. They were trying to get the victims to a car while people were crouching, running between cars trying to hide, then popping up to attack not only the victims but police to. All they could do was spray as many as they could when they popped out. When the victims made it to the car they were all supposed to ride in, the mob surrounded them & was still attacking them, damaging the vehicle, trying to break windows. They couldn't do anything but run. The cops were screaming at them to get to a car & get out of there because things were complete chaos. The girl that was jumped by the bathroom, who got the worst of it, was saying she didn't think she could drive to her friends. The cops didn't care about any of that. They were just screaming wanting them out of there before they got killed, telling her she had to get in her car & go. We end up behind the victim's car. Why'd she pull out & get pulled over, after the cops just told her she had no choice but to get in her car & go. The cop was in a sheriff car. He didn't care either. The girl was crying trying to explain. She had blood all over her. The cop gave her a DUI. We also saw a man get jumped by a different crowd & a woman get knocked out by a man. I hope someone shuts this place down. The people that were attacked got victim blamed, & held way more accountable than any of the people that started any of this. Your security is a joke & so are your business standards. And guess what? Because you don't ID people, or file reports, or have any of these psychos arrested, it'll just continue to happen, with a lot of it flying under the radar because of the lack of documentation, which could later be beneficial in showing a history of how unsafe this place really is. If you go here, please understand that you're unknowingly putting your own life at risk. The atmosphere here condones violence & have no issue endangering the lives of others.

Ive been coming here for a while and love it! Its THE spot for me and my girls. Its affordable with a cover of 5$ most nights I believe and they are always throwing deals like 1$ drinks before 11pm. The crowd is a little diverse with some older couples and businesses folks 30-40 but MOSTLY young adults looking to party and have cheap drinks! There is a different DJ every night so the music changes up depending on who's playing that night, it's typically really good. They have plenty of security and anytime there has been a rowdy person Ive always seen them swiftly get that person out. Westport also seems to be pretty dangerous these days but even before getting the the bar there is typically security on the street checking ID's and bags so i feel better going with the new measures. Its a nice little bar with good vibes and even some lawn games to play inside. If your looking for a quick and fun place last minute I definitely recommend, the line isn't bad most nights.

CROOKS. SCAM. FRAUD. I ordered a whiskey and coke for 6 dollars. A 4 dollar sprite and vodka for my wife. and left a 2 dollar tip. Checked my account 2 days later and was CHARGED 24.00. They charged double of my ticket and their are countless reviews of this occurring. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS.

Not really sure what Johnny Kaw's is doing in Westport in the first place. I've visited a few times, and I don't understand the appeal. The ambiance is questionable, the drinks are weak, and it's just an obnoxious place to be. I have not had good experiences here, and there are so many other businesses in Westport and Midtown/Hyde Park that can be supported instead. J Kaw's doesn't do it for me.

This bar disgraced me and my fellow associate and we will never be coming back to this shit hole! My friend and I, were asked to dance with some women on the stage and we were sexually assaulted by the yard bar staff as a member grabbed a handful of my buddies and my packages and tore us off stage. Was completely out of pocket! Yard bar has a double standard and the bouncers are full of it.
