When I saw that a bar had opened at 800 Broadway, my curiosity was piqued since i used to live on the 700 block in the prior century. The address is Broadway, but the entrance is in the back alley and then down a flight of stairs into the basement of the old Carnival building built in 1903. With it's dark atmosphere and exposed walls and pipes, a prohibition vibe is certainly present. My $6 Tank 7 was priced fairly and my female bartender was friendly. The 7pm crowd was a mix of fans from the earlier KC Current match nearby and a few "club girls" that were starting early. Leather seating, a nice billiards table and several TV's with sports provided entertainment. Probably won't go out of my way to return since I live across town, but would probably have been a regular if they had been open when I lived in the neighborhood.

I always welcome a new business to our north side of downtown! Our area is slowly getting neighborhood bar and restaurant within walking distance. The experience starts with an Alley entrance that leads you down the steps into a basement area. The seating is divided into private and group areas. Areas include leather couches and love seat areas and small low tables and chairs for 2-4 as well as bar seating. There is also an area with a pool table. Our group of neighbors dropped in to check it out and really enjoyed the vibe. The bar is fully stocked and the features drinks were well crafted along with their names. The service was great and the bartenders were engaging with us. I have been there twice (still haven't tried the food yet) but my only critique would be to keep the barrier to the kitchen- liquor delivery area closed to the bar area view. Seeing boxes of supplies, liquor, beer etc does not need to be in your guests view. Secondly I would suggest turning the AC temp down. With summer now into fall it may not be an issue. With a basement already cooler the AC setting was very uncomfortable both times I was there. I actually came a third time and didn't even stay to order a drink it was that cold. Just a minor suggestion to monitor the thermostat. Love this neighborhood option and suggest visiting

Very cool spacious basement bar. I could see this being the place you hit up after work before a dinner reso. You do need to walk down a set of stairs to get in, but there's a sign about ADA access assistance. It was pretty packed at 6:30pm on a Friday, but thinned out about two hours later. I stopped in to try out a new spot and also give the hot dogs a go. I've eaten quite a few in my travels and after seeing they'd added two more kinds on IG, I was excited. But first, the drinks. There's a good amount to choose from at decent prices. The bartenders are knowledgeable and willing to get a sense of what you're looking to drink, too, so don't hestiate to ask. I tend to stick to citrus based drinks and started with the Don't Be a Prick, Bees Knees, and River Water. I can safely say you can't go wrong with any of them. As for the hot dogs... I feel like a mild jerk for hyping a food item that I hadn't even eaten yet to my friend. I got the Chicago dog thinking it's a good baseline. The relish/sauce on there was a bit heavy-handed. The Dallas dog was so lightly warmed that the shredded cheese on top wasn't even melted. Plus, the bacon bits were just whatever kind get shaken out of a container. My friend said, "it tastes like I should be at a football concession stand." I'm giving them 4/5 stars since the drinks and the bartenders were solid. TL;DR - Drinks are good, but you can pass on the hot dogs.

I was excited about this place. I met my friends here on a Friday late afternoon. It was hard to find, I had to ask a lady walking if she knew where it was. It's kinda hidden on the backside of the building, so when my GPS said I had arrived, I hadn't. There are several stairs you have to walk down, there is a sign saying they can accommodate ADA but I didn't see how. The area is large and there is a nice sized bar, a pool table, couches, table and chairs , and 3 Tvs. I got an old fashioned and Chicago dawg. The drink was$13, it wa made well and quickly. The hot dog is big, the toppings were blended, not really if fan of it but I guess it's easier that way. It would have been nice if chips or fries or another side was available. This place has potential. I like the open space and all 3 tvs had something different on. They also offer other drinks not on the menu like white claws, surfsides, etc. I will come back another time to check it out again.

Definitely dive style, lots of room for groups, everyone moves out fairly quickly so not standing for long for a seat. 2 Gender neutral bathrooms. Had plastic cups by the water coolers so you don't have to stand in line to hydrate. Four bartenders on a Friday night made ordering drinks and closing tabs fairly easy. Had small food plates, very "girl dinner" esc..drinks were large portions. Younger crowd majority of the time. Had a Photo Booth for 7$ inside. Entrance in the back of the building

This place is very cute! I had a hugo spritz and it was perfectly balanced. The ambiance was very cute & they have pool tables for late-night entertainment as well. The bartenders were very friendly and even let us sample their local beers on tap!
