Oh my gosh. I happened across this restaurant for my birthday on a Saturday night and the ambiance is 10/10. Such a cool atmosphere and the people there are so nice and make sure you are taken care of. Not to mention the food is the BEST. I have tried seafood boils at places all over Kansas City and the suburbs and this place by far has the BEST seafood boil. I always look forward to revisiting.

Been trying to make it by to check out Swifts on Main forever and it did not disappoint. We were welcomed immediately upon entering and seemed to come at the perfect time as it was not super crowded. Our server made sure to explain the specials of the day. And when asked on her recommendations or meal items she enjoyed, I appreciated she gave input. You know how when you feel you're starving, your eyes can be bigger than your stomach will allow you to eat..... Yep, I had to fight that feeling and save some menu items to try the next visit Decided to try the feast special (please forgive me if that's not the right title) but it came with 2 wings and a choice between Basa & catfish and a side. I chose the Basa with a side of broccoli but because I've seen the rice in all the social media picture, I had to try it as well. The chicken and fish were seasoned and breaded perfectly. The rice was just fluffy enough with the hint of Cajun. And the broccoli, although was basic in flavor is was fine with my preferred tenderness. I felt it complimented the seasoned meats well. Now if your wondering why I rated it a 4, there was a mix up on my fish which was fixed immediately and handled with care. Lastly the ambiance was a great change of pace for a lunch break. Their was smooth music playing as we ate. At times, I may have even sang along. I can't help that when Luther Vandross comes on It's definitely a place I'd recommend you try out for your self.

Glad we were able to stop in and tryout this restaurant. It's has a very cozy aesthetic especially the lighting, it's very dim to me. The music is smooth R&B and there's also a TV. We were asked to waited 3-4 mins to be seated. KeeKee waited on our table. She managed most of the tables while we're there and helped with bar customers outside of the hostess. My Basa was seasoned and cooked well and arrived hot. The skin was crispy and meat was tender. I was given tartar sauce, house Cadillac sauce, and yum yum sauce for my fish. KeeKee gave me deets on a few of the house sauces ingredients. My favorite was the yum yum but the Cadillac sauce came in a close second. The Cajun rice was savory with plenty of green onion, finely diced celery and peppers. It was very flavorful. My mom loved the shrimp & grits. Grits were creamy texture with a bit of spiciness. The shrimp tasted seasoned through and through. We had to wait a bit for someone to check on us once we were done to get to go containers and even after that our check. Reading the bill was a bit confusing as there was one amount of paid in cash versus using credit card. I was informed it was because of some tax. I think she meant card machine fee. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience, both KeeKee and the hostess were personable. It was just the periods of wait times.

Second visit to Swift's Cajun Cuisine and this time it was for my undergrad friend's birthday. My first experience here was incredible. The food was bold flavorful and felt like it came from someone's grandma's kitchen. I gave it a solid 5 out of 5 that night. This time around I have to be honest and say it was more of a 3 out of 5. The jasmine fried rice was hard and overcooked. I know rice is tricky but jasmine rice is still supposed to have a little fluff to it even when it's fried. It just felt like the kitchen was off that night. Now let me tell you what truly made the evening worth it. Tuesday night karaoke. Baybee the way Black joy filled that room was everything. People singing their hearts out clapping laughing doing all the runs like they were auditioning for The Voice. It was beautiful to witness and even better to be a part of. That kind of joy and community is sacred especially with the heaviness of the world right now. And shoutout to the Cajun margarita because that drink was a whole healing experience by itself. It gave flavor a kick and a vibe all at once. I'll definitely be back because even when the food isn't perfect the energy and the love in that space are unmatched.

This is a nice chill place with amazing food and customer service. I appreciated the staff explaining the menu items in detail. The place looks very nice. Hoping that one day the space will grow and that it sticks around for a long time. We need more restaurants similar to it.

Updated Review (4.5 stars to be exact) Tried Swifts Cajun Cuisine at First Fridays again, this time the food truck really impressed me. The Cajun fried rice with shrimp and broccoli was seasoned quite well, with every bite having loads of flavor. I just would have appreciated a few more shrimp, I believe there were 8 total, and for $19 I think 10 would have been appropriate. But, the shrimp themselves were plump and juicy, not overcooked, small or sad. This meal was filling for the price because of the mass amounts of rice but, I think the addition of broccoli was needed. Without it the whole dish would have been just shrimp and rice, it added variety to the meal as well as freshness and color. It's a good dish but, I get tired of eating it once the shrimps are gone so, I always have leftover rice to take home. They did, at first, forget the yum yum sauce I ordered however, once I received it the meal was instantly elevated. They have two sauces on the menu to choose from, the yum yum sauce is creamy and garlicky and adds to the fried rice feel, reminds me of what you get at hibachi. The other sauce is called Cadillac sauce, which is more of a seafood boil type of sauce with a thinner butter base. Swifts Cajun Cuisine definitely had an audience at first fridays and I'm glad I gave them another go, I wasn't disappointed in my food and still want to try the brick and mortar restaurant out as well to compare quality

It's been 3 days since I was at Swift's Cajun Cuisine and I still can't stop thinking about how good my lunch was. My creamy pasta with Cajun seasoning was loaded with sausage and shrimp, giving every bite a chunk of protein to compliment the pasta covered in a spicy cream sauce - wonderful. I dined solo and sat at the bar on a mid Saturday afternoon. Good service from the bartender, a nice ambiance and some great variety of soul music playing at a proper level. Going on the "must return soon" list.

I visited for the first time today and I must say that I will be back. The staff was friendly and attentive. I sat at the bar and actually planned to read. But there was a good chatter and music that I ultimately didn't. The music is at a good level. I always judge restaurants based on that. If it's too loud it's a turn off for me. They did it just right and the musical selection was great. I had the Cajun pasta and I added chicken and shrimp. The portion was huge. I think two people could eat it or let it be dinner and lunch. The flavor was great! Shrimp size was perfect. I will say, they should get pasta spoons, but other than that I was pleased. Even the bread was good. I'm excited to come back. It may become my neighborhood staple.

I was visiting Kansas city and my family suggested this restaurant. Everything was so delicious! I ordered the shrimp cajun pasta and it was very flavorful. The ambience was very nice as well. The staff offered suggestions and gave additional suggestions to visit while in town. I would definitely visit again and would highly recommend you visit. You will thank me later.

From the service to the food everything was a hit and the things that weren't they quickly corrected. We ordered the Cajun fried rice with shrimp and catfish, The Cajun grits and cat fish, seafood boil with crab and the chicken wings. The catfish was literally cooked to perfection, crispy, well seasoned and add a little yum yum sauce chefs kiss... The Cajun fried rice was nice texture and good flavor a little salty but over all good flavor. The seafood boil was a hit with my daughter it was filled with a good amount of seafood and potatoes and had the right amount of spice. The menu features a delightful mix of traditional favorites and innovative dishes, all crafted with care and creativity. The fried chicken wings are a must-try--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfectly seasoned. The sides, especially the Cajun rice complement the main dishes beautifully. Service at Swifts is friendly and attentive, making you feel like part of the family. The decor reflects local culture and heritage, adding to the overall charm of the place.
