Our friends invited us to the distillery tour at Tom's Town. We got tickets in advance and joined them on the distillery tour. Our tour guide Kate was fantastic! She's also a chemical engineer and the assistant distiller, so she had deep knowledge on all the processes and handled questions with ease. She guided both our tour and tasting marvelously. We enjoyed learning about the process and the tasting. There was a nice film featuring the owners and other locals. They explained who Tom Pendergast was and about Prohibition in KC. They had some fine spirits!! We purchased the delicious vodka and a special reserve bourbon aged in apple brandy barrels that is only available at the distillery. We enjoyed a cocktail after the tour and had dinner across the street. It was a lovely afternoon!!

I haven't been to Toms town in years, I heard they got a new head chef and wanted to go try out the summer menu with a small group of people. It was easy to make a reservation online. Tom's town is not a place for more than four or five people, they did not have great seating for more. It didn't stop us. We sat on the couch had a cocktail and ate some snacks. Old fashion was delicious to sip on. Waitstaff was friendly but busy. We tried a lot of things on the menu; wings, eggplant dip, grilled cheese, buffalo cheese, smashed burgers, and watermelon salad. It was elevated and creative for all the dishes. I especially loved the grilled cheese, as it was grilled halloumi cheese w pita with kind of like bruschetta topping. I really wanted to try to Mac and cheese waffles but they sold out! I can't wait to see the fall winter menu.

Meetup with a friend to deliver a gift. A downtown local upscale bar/lounge.. the distillery is on site visible in front where a center couch setting is present with booth/chair seating lines the room. I didn't venture to past the entryway room but heard the DJ below in their speakeasy space. To be honest the mesh of music upstairs and downstairs rumble of techno was distracting. The cocktail and drink offerings are all Tom Towns gin, vodka, bourbon and whiskey. Our group of 4 dabbled in the Hors d'Oeuvres was ok. The deviled eggs were not very appetizing, the shrimp cocktail was ordinary but the bourbon onion dip & chips had a tweaked tastiness. I ordered the FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH which was drenched in hot honey and boss sauce.. the chicken was crispy, flavorful and larger than the bun and along with the combined sauce mix was devoured!

Tom's Town is one of those places I'm always excited to bring friends to because it never disappoints. The amount of effort that goes into their pop-ups is impressive. I've been going for three, maybe four years now, and somehow each year it just gets better. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. The drinks are consistently strong and tasty. I look forward to seeing what they do for the holiday pop up this year!

Highly recommend checking out their Halloween pop up bar, Cloven Hoof. The amount of effort and thought put into the theme exceeded my expectations. You must make rsvp. There is no cost to make rsvp. Our server, Joy, was very knowledgeable about the history of the building and explained the different levels of the building. Halloween drinks tasted amazing and love the touch of a gummy eyeball in my drink too. FYI - you can also get food here too but we ate before we came. I will be coming back again.

I had the pleasure of visiting Tom's Town for a catered event. Walking in was like entering a magical Christmas wonderland!! I used to work nearby, so I'd glanced in while walking by a few times. But this was so different from the way it normally looks...and so awesome! Every space had been decorated to maximum Christmas charm! The waiters were very attentive, one brought me a water without me having to ask, even though she knew I was just waiting for the event, and set me up at a little table while I waited for the event to start. Once everything was ready, we went to the back room (which is used for special events). It was also gorgeous & Christmassy and very cozy and welcoming. The space is perfect for about 15-20 people and was set up kind of like a living room. I loved it! Great for mingling with others. Everyone was raving about the cocktails - I think these were prepared by Tom's Town. Although I didn't try any myself - I'm not a big drinker - everybody kept talking about them. It was just such a fun night, made all the better by the location. Awesome job, Tom's Town!!

We stopped by after having dinner elsewhere - many fun places to sit & chat. Menu had a wide variety of cocktails. Our waiter was helpful; he gave us a history of the building, the business, as well as the Pendergast name. Upon entering, one can see the distilling room through the glass. The builiding has many beautiful eye-catching notes, including the original tin ceiling. Tours & tastings are available to schedule, and they sell their products on site. Would return!

Great place to meet for drinks and an appetizer. It has a cool sexy vibe. They have a variety of delicious cocktails. If you're looking for something different to do, you could go on the tour of the distillery . It's very interesting and you get to do a tasting at the end!
