Cool grocery store with a deli. Standard Mexican food. The Torta was ok but definitely needed salsa to bring out the flavors. I'm from California so my opinion is comparing this spot to places close to home . This Place is a KC 9 but a California 4.

Went to go buy meat & chorizo for a carne asada the meat was bad tasted gamey like it was spoiled plus super expensive. On top of that the cashiers are hella rude like they're bothered to take your order Rude ass hell.

Overall, the tacos were delicious to the point that they are considered flavor bombs, especially the al pastor tacos. The carne asada tacos and the chicharrón (pork belly) were delicious too, and it was a great deal since each taco was only less than $2 each before taxes. There was also a salsa bar with a good variety of salsas and toppings to choose from, a small section dedicated to groceries, and the store even sold some refrigerated salsas that the store made.

Each year I take a group of coworkers / friends out for tacos. Yesterday was "Ralphie's 5th Annual KCK Taco Crawl", and San Antonio Market was stop #3 for a party of 10. San Antonio is always a solid choice when your on Kansas Ave. The price is right, tons of meats options for tacos, burritos, tortas... including a favorite that isn't on a lot of taqueria menus - Chili Relleno. part market and part restaurant, be prepared for a line but it's never a long wait so don't be discouraged. The thick wooden chairs and tables give the place a very authentic Mexican ambiance - much better than the plastic furniture at most places. Yesterday I went with the pastor and asada tacos and doctored them up at the fresh condiment bar.

If you're hungry for authentic Mexican street food then you've found the right place. It's laid back and unassuming. You order at the counter, grab a seat, pickup your order when called and hit the sauce bar. It's a popular place and rightfully so. Be prepared to wait at peak times. Home made tortillas are available for purchase. The market area and butcher counter are stocked with everything you'll need to feast at home.

First time here after hearing all about it and I was amazed..I haven't gone to the larger store across the street from it but the smaller market still had a lot of things in it you can't find other at other stores. The food was quick and delicious and we went on the weekend when they have menudo..some of the best I've tasted! I love all the salsas and toppings in the self serve bar, so fresh and tasty. Very nice staff and very clean.

Walking in, it isn't intuitive where you order vs where the cashier for the grocery section is. Once you do find the correct person to order from, ordering food is efficient and the food comes out quickly with very little wait. While you are waiting though, you could peruse the grocery section which has a lot of items like fresh chicharrones and marinated meats. Once we got our food, there was a fresh salsa bar that we could dress our tacos with. It had onions, cilantro, salsas, pico de gallo - literally all the works if you wanted. Warning: some of the salsas like the creamy verde was particularly spicy. The tacos themselves were okay. They had a chewy texture that I was not fond of - both the carne asada and pastor. Overall, the vibes and experience were pretty cool. As we ate, we got to see them make fresh tortillas in the back. So, it was a nice change of pace and experience to watch.

San Antonio was our final stop on our taco tour... and my favorite! It is a Tortilleria, taco stand, and market, in one! We were still hungry at this point, so we tried 4 different tacos and loved them all! I also enjoyed the salsa bar - the green salsa was delish! It was also super cheap - 4 tacos for like $8! I will be back!

Authentic place located in a grocery market. Coming from Texas, this place does a great job with all their food. Got tacos, a burrito, and a quesadilla - they have a variety of meats for each. Not too long of a wait despite how busy it was, and food came out relatively quick. Everything tasted hot and fresh, and amazing flavor. There's a self serve bar for condiments, which had cilantro, limes, onions, along with numerous salsas varying in spiciness. Not labeled, but that just means more to try for yourself! Price for everything was very reasonable - I think I paid $2/taco, the burrito was $8, and the quesadilla was $6. More than enough food for what I paid. This is definitely a KC gem, and I will be returning whenever I'm craving authentic tacos. There's also a lot of other taco shops in this area too which I'm looking forward to try. Tortilleria San Antonio is probably the most popular one, however.
