We got there in time for happy hour, which was nice because it wasn't too busy. The Arny Palmer was my favorite although I also liked the Bandit. (Just very different from one another!) The service was good - efficient and relaxed. The atmosphere is very chill and the burgers from Disco are one of my favorites in the city.

I visited Varsity Club to hang out with a friend on her birthday and enjoy Disco Burger. To that end it should be noted that this review is just for the patio as I didn't have a reason to venture inside! All of that being stated, despite the heat, the Varsity Club patio is awesome. There are plenty of picnic tables, it's kid friendly (at least during dinner), and they have some great happy hour specials. I loved that even outside you get table service, the staff was SO kind even though we were just there for happy hour on the patio, and they offer water you can pour yourself near the door. I loved also that many of their cocktails come in a cute branded plastic cup that's better for outdoors, and was fun for my kiddo to enjoy her kids drink out of without me worrying about her breaking glass. I honestly can't wait to return once it cools down.

Joseph is a fantastic bartender and server! He made us feel at home on our second visit here. The Arny Palmy is delicious!! I had two of them and they were strong! I don't drink much anymore, so I was glad they had self serve water. I had 4 glasses of it. The tall boy special was Coors Original Banquet Beer. Fantastic! What a cool vibe here. Really a mellow crowd and staff. No pretense. Love it.

One of my favorite neighborhood bars! I am so lucky I live so close to this place. It's laid back and not pretentious however, it definitely has style. The bar tenders are always attentive even when the small bar is packed (at it does it crowded) it's nice to be able to take your drinks out on the patio. I love enjoying the orange wine outside and ordering up a disco burger, the attached permanent food truck on property. I've never tried a cocktail here but I've been intrigued by the grilled martini which has grilled olives but, the crisp dry orange wine has my heart. Also, the prices are very reasonable so, you don't have to expect to pay a pretty penny to enjoy a glass of wine and maybe even a burger or patty melt (which is my personal favorite)

We needed a place to hang out before the KC Current game for snacks and drinks. We decided to check this place out after hearing so much about it. This place is such a vibe. Such a great addition to the Rivermarket area. The drink menu is small. NA drinks are included. Easy to choose. You can either order at the bar or with a server. The bar area is very small. Maybe 10 sittings at the bar and about 6 small tables? They also have a patio sitting. We all got smashed burger from Disco Burger. It was tasty! Crispy burger edges and soft burger buns. Can't go wrong there! You order and pay through the scan code. They will call out your number when it is ready. Simple and easy. Highly recommend.

This place is cool! It's 5 pm and happy people, music, Chenille Beads, tonight on the covered patio, 1st time for music here, it is a ticketed event. The bar has 10 chairs and 2 TVs, one is playing vintage soccer games (cool again) and the other is anime and seating area had 8 tables. My bartender Joseph made a great old fashion even using the proper cherry amarena. They're open 6 days a week, closed on Tuesday, have a great stone wall since this is underground, in the back of a building in the River Market which faces the market. I like the b

Varsity Club has been the perfect addition to River Market. Dimly-lit, intimate, and swanky, Varsity Club is the perfect cocktail spot (open late!) to grab drinks with friends. It's cave-like inside with rock/brick walls, and it gets loud in there, so you're not going to have the best conversation of your life, but it's the perfect fun bar atmosphere. The space inside is small -- it was full by 5:45 pm on a Friday night. Order at the bar in the back, or order from one of the employees roaming around with an iPad. Varsity Club has a lovely cocktail menu (including NA options). Great happy hour deals. The bangarang and the spaghett are delicious and refreshing. They also have a small patio with the Disco Burger truck. A burger, fries, and a delicious cocktail -- what more could you ask for? Parking in River Market can be challenging. Located by the City Market park, so it's centrally located between paid street parking and City Market parking. I'm lucky to have Varsity Club as a walkable neighborhood bar.
