Blamed me for tire damage that wasnt mine. I use them all the time but being blamed for something i didnt do was just not cool. Im gonna go somewhere else. Plus they dont have a keydrop any longer and its so inconvenent. Plus the person before me left trash in the center console and i didnt want to touch it and i get pinged for having a dirty car. When i rented the car and i walked in... the gentleman behind the counter was being rude to the customer on the phone that was raising a complaint. It made it very uncomfortable and awkward. Corporate in atlanta needs to review these complaints. Over the years i have had great experience at this location and love the low mile cars but this experience was just aweful. Until they fix things there are plenty of other rental car companies incan choose from

I've rented twice here and my experience has been acceptable both times. 1 Star review on behalf of the guy in front of me today. Customer goes up to counter give reservation info. The lady behind counter takes his info and gives him a Toyota Camry. Customer - "I reserved a premium car" Budget Lady- "We don't have any premium cars available in the city" (she didn't look in the system) Customer- "Ok. The Camry will do" (clearly frustrated) Budget Lady- "That will be ____ dollars" Customer- "That was the premium car rate and I'm getting a Camry" Budget Lady- "Well if you want any car you'll pay the premium rate" (in the biggest 'I give zero F$%*#s about what you want tone of voice) There were a couple nice SUVs on the lot and she did NOT offer to substitute one of those. Basically this guy ordered a steak. He was told they are out of steak so you hae to take a hamburger. Then he was told he had to still pay for a steak. Absolutely ridiculous. The lady should be fired immediately and if her manager sets that policy he should be fired too. I will try to stick with Enterprise in the future.

By far the worst experience when renting a car that could possibly be done. This place has a joke of customer service, does not offer to help in any way, EXTREMELY STRICT and quite frankly RIDICULOUS "requirements" to rent a vehicle. My fiance and I were going to rent a vehicle to go on a road trip so we didn't have to put the miles on our personal vehicle. We found a good deal for Budget and thought why not. We Pre-Paid to save even more money more than TWO MONTHS in advance. Come the day we are to pick it up and we cannot because we do not have a major credit card for the 'deposit' but I already paid it in full. In order to use your debit card for the deposit you need to have a Utility bill in your name. ONLY A UTILITY BILL NOTHING ELSE WORKS, not a phone bill, lease agreement, insurance paperwork, NOTHING BUT UTLITLITY. Well my fiance pays the utlitity bill at our apartment so it's not in my name, but the reservation was in my name. Well I call customer care which is an even bigger joke! First off with a pre-paid you cannot switch the name, so I had to cancel the car (which I got a discount on) and pay FULL PRICE under my fiances name. We go to the store to pick it up under her name but her drivers license has her old apartment number on it. Literally the SAME address but different apartment number than the utility bill. So we couldn't pick it up. Now I'm out $1,600 waiting to be refunded, we now have to use a personal vehicle to go on our trip vs cancelling it all. Thanks Budget for the EXCELLENT SERVICE!

I'm really not a fan of writing negative reviews. Even as frustrated as I was standing in the Budget lobby for over an hour, I still have to push myself to get this done. I made my reservation online with no problems, five days before the pickup date. I received a confirmation phone call the day before my pickup. My reservation was 9:00am, so I showed up early at 8:30 to get started on jumping through the many hoops to rent if you do not have a credit card. BUT, when I walked through the door, I was informed the rental was not there yet. "Can we go ahead and get started on the verification and stuff?" I was told we couldn't even do that without the car there. Ok. So I waited patiently. 9:00 rolls around and still no car. The car finally arrived 45 minutes late, with no apology from any of the staff. Mistakes happen, but there was concern.

After my car died on the way from Omaha to St. Louis, I was stuck near Kansas City for a night. After waiting out car inspections, bank loans, credit card woes, etc., I needed to get back to St. Louis as soon as possible so that I could catch my biz trip flight to LAX early the next morning. I called the main Budget phone number that was listed in my hotel's guidebook and received a quote for an mid-size car for a one-way trip to St. Louis with a drop-off at the STL airport. That person transferred me directly to the KC airport Budget location for booking, and another agent quoted me a different price. When I said that the previous agent had quoted a lower price, the KC agent became huffy and said that the higher price was what her screen was showing and that was the end of it. I thanked her and hung up, opting to check for internet pricing. I found a lower rate than the KC agent had quoted and booked the car through Priceline for two hours from that time. My hotel kindly gave me a ride to the airport, and I went to the counter to claim my reservation. The woman helping me was nice, but distant. Because my credit card was still being fixed from an unrelated matter, I had to pay for the car with my Visa bank card. Because of this, the agent said that they'd place a $200+ hold on my card in addition to the actual rental car price. Obviously, I wasn't thrilled about this, having just cleaned out my savings for unexpected car repairs, a hotel room and the basic rental car price. She said there was nothing that could be done, however, and I could take it or leave it. She did say that once I returned the car to the Budget location in STL, the hold would be released, but that could take anywhere from one to 14 days. I sighed, forked over the cash that I desperately needed, and received my stall number that housed my rental. Outside, there wasn't great signage pointing me to my stall. I had to ask for help from the lone employee wandering the lot. I wheeled my luggage cart down to where my car was at the very end of the lot and went through the surface inspection by myself (No agent did it with me; I had to mark scrapes and whatnot alone.). There was no luggage cart return anywhere to be found, so I had to be a jerk and leave it in the lot. :/ It took four days after I returned the car to Budget before my extra deposit was refunded.

I honestly don't know how Budget stays in business. I have had only two rental experiences with Budget and both have been horrible. The first was 3 years ago and I was promised a nice new 11 passenger van for my family vacation. When I arrived to pick up, budget tried to put me in an old 8 passenger van that looked and smelled like someone had been using it to haul chickens. I should have learned my lesson then. This year, I reserved a full-size SUV from Budget fully a month before my trip. Despite talking to the agent both two and one days before the pick up, and being assured I would get either a Dodge Durango or a Ford Explorer, when I showed up for pick up they had neither and didn't know when they would get one. Then the agents tried to stick me with a 15 passenger van for my trip to the mountains (yeah, that was helpful!). Bottom line, I will NEVER EVER rent from or recommend Budget. They are absolutely the worst.

Once again Budget Kansas City rented me a car they don't have. Booked luxury car for long trip, showed up and they have nothing close. Tried to rent me stripped down Jeep under excuse it is same size as the luxury car I reserved. Of course customer service line does not answer. Wants you to leave message that from experience will never be returned. Personnel at location couldn't understand why I was pissed, told me this is business as usual, as if I that somehow was customer service and would make me feel better. If I could give negative stars I would. I understand you may not get the exact car you rented, but I don't understand why this particular rental company so often doesn't have cars in the same class of reservation.

Worst experience of my life! I travel a lot and when I reserved the car initially I was never told of "special taxes" that this location charges. Well I was thinking to be billed for $230 for 3 days with insurance and gas, and they billed me $425 instead and told me that these are "airport taxes" and they had no control over it. 50% on top of your bill, THAT'S INSANE!! And the worst about it is that I wasn't told about these "special taxes" when I signed the contract, otherwise I would have never done so. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THESE GUYS. You will regret it.
