I was on the hunt for a new-to-me local lunch spot last week and found Caffetteria. It had been on my radar for a while, and I think I maybe ordered a to-go salad from them ages ago, but I'd never dined in and I'm glad I gave them a go! First of all it's a pretty typical grab and go/ order at the counter kind of lunch spot. Their menu is mostly sandwiches and salads. I ordered their fried egg/pimento cheese sandwich and it was honestly great. It didn't come with any sides, though I could have added some on if I wanted. IMO it didn't need it as the sandwich itself was a very good size. The dining room is moderately sized, and filled up by around noon. I noticed loads of folks coming in for to-go orders so I'm sure it's always busy around the lunch hour. The price point was about what you'd expect these days - with most things hovering just under the $20 threshold. Overall, I really enjoyed my lunch here and I'd go back!

As ever, buying food here was a terrific experience. Mady took my phone order & happened to wait on me when I picked up my order (yum, Adam & Eve salad w/salmon). This was my first visit to Caffetteria Modern Cafe & Market in Kansas City, and I wish I lived closer because I would be a regular. I went for lunch with a friend and was pleasantly surprised to see a half sandwich and salad combo for $15. I ordered the 1/2 turkey avocado sandwich with the Adam and Eve salad. At first, I worried the portions might not be filling enough, but once the food arrived I was thrilled. The serving size was generous and both the sandwich and salad were absolutely delicious. Instead of a server here, you just go up to the register and order then they will bring your food over to your table. I also loved the corner of the cafe stocked with grab-and-go items and fun kitchen trinkets. Overall, such a great spot and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Food - great Service - delivery to your table Ambience - almost like a classic cafeteria without the 80's Furr's cafeteria smell. Hadn't been here in years, was craving ' a steak sammich, glad I could get it for a reasonable price as the menu said mkt price. As of week of 6/9/25 it's about 16$. Really good slim slices of roast beef and more. Sliced grilled steak, oven-roasted tomatoes, charred red onion, arugula, house-made mayo, with chimichurri, served on a baguette.

Caffetteria is one of my friend's favorite lunch spots in Prairie Village, so I find myself here often for gal's lunch! The menu has plenty of great options including soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and bowls! I usually stick the sandwiches though did recently try the tomato soup and was very pleased. The soup came with a choice of crackers, baguette, or a flat bread. Went with the flatbread and was so excited to see something the size of a personal pizza show up with my soup! Super tasty and covered with melty cheese and spices. My friend is a big fan of the chicken salad sandwich and gets it almost religiously! Caffetteria also has a cute little shopping section up front with small gift items. Fun to pursue while you wait on your food.

What a neat restaurant! Some of the nicest meals I've had from a place where you order at the counter. The food came out quickly and the kind wait staff went back and grabbed everything else we asked for. You will certainly enjoy the subtly upscale, yet very casual environment. In addition to serving excellent meals, there is a nice bakery that looked delicious and a small marketplace with many grab and go food items and some niche food-related paraphernalia. I got the Nomad Bowl and appreciated the unique flavors and textures. The composition of the bowl itself was more imaginative than it read on the menu, but the salmon was considerably overcooked. I was also able to try the Hollywood Bowl which was fantastic. The rest of the table enjoyed their orders thoroughly. A little bit more expensive than your typical order at the counter kind of place, but the meal was worth a few extra bucks.

Stopped in for a quick lunch while shopping in PV today and was instantly reminded how much I love this place. The atmosphere is easy, welcoming--the kind of spot that just makes your day better. My salad was perfect, L loved his sandwich, and the lemon bar? Absolutely amazing. I'm literally salivating just thinking about it. We were in a bit of a rush, so being able to sit at the counter and get in and out quickly was a huge plus. Don't leave without poking around the little shop up front. It's full of eclectic, one-of-a-kind gift ideas--basically all the things you never knew you needed.

I haven't eaten here since they first open up. Since then things has change a bit. More grab and go type of items. Entrees to go and giftiable items. The seating area inside are small but they added more outdoor patio seating. Food is cook to order, fresh and gourmet. I ordered their Polynesian poke bowl. It was really good and has everything I like. Good place to stop in for a quick, nice gourmet meal. Staff was friendly. Casual dining ambiance with gourmet dining vibes.

Got the tuna poke the day after I first came here- the salmon is way better (I didn't care for the bitter baby kale leaves in the otherwise yummy poke dish), the salmon is definitely where it's at!

Everyone has been raving about this place and now! Located in a cute and quiet little mall in Prairie Village, the vibes here were so fresh and chill! It was really cool to have a glassed in kitchen that you can see them cooking your food fresh! The service was really fast and convient. You order at the counter and they bring it out. (Very pricey in my opinion. I paid $11 for a juice. A very good juice though!) We ordered the breakfast burrito which was very tasty, the sweet potato fries with a honey mustard aioli, and the Genoveve pizza which was incredible! We will for sure go back here, maybe even pick up dinner that they have pre made in the fridges!
