I Shawnee Blind Box - ordered two slabs of ribs, 2 lbs of pulled pork and 2 lbs of burnt ends - took it all to Minnesota, second time, heated per instructions, everything was delicious, nothing was dried out. I wanted to try local bbq but was not super hungry so I ordered the burnt blue salad. It's a large salad with burnt ends. The burnt ends were plentiful and outstanding. They have a nice assortment of sauces. I also ordered the bbq bean and I'm critical of beans, these were tied for the best I've had. They also have one of the best blue cheese salad dressings I've had Do yourself a favor and try it here

Before my on-site visit, I had tried Blind Box catered a couple of times, and was a bit underwhelmed. So, when the opportunity arose to have this fresh, straight inside the restaurant, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to salvage my overall take on it. We visited with some friends, making for a decent-sized party, which they accommodated without issue! We were promptly seated and helped, and our waitress was kind, attentive, and very helpful and friendly! Although it's located in a fairly-generic strip center, the inside of the restaurant definitely gives off the right vibes about the incoming smoked delectables coming your way! The menu has all the normal, expected barbecue options, including a good selection of smoked meats and some mostly-standard sides. One of my friends highly recommended the smoked sausage (one of my favorite smoked meats!), so I decided on the combo dinner that included that sausage, some ribs, and some burnt ends, along with two sides. The sausage and ribs, while dry, both did have a nice, smoky flavor to them. Also, the burnt ends were appropriately tender and fatty, exactly the way I like them. Both of my sides - the barbecue beans and the sweet potato fries - were solid. And lastly, I enjoyed both sauces I tried. On the downside: the ribs and sausage were both desperately dry, requiring sauce to salvage. I was hoping that we'd get pretty fresh 'cue, being it prime time on a Saturday (and, maybe it was), but, either way, they did come out pretty dry. If I put my SUPER critical barbecue hat on, I'd still probably land at the overall food here being a B, or B-. Call it good, not great. All of the meat I tried was not competition-winning (as per the restaurant name, which I really like!), and the sides were only well-executed "standard" fare, nothing overly creative or outside the box far enough to get an A-rating. So, that said, in a city and region chock-full of spots vying for barbecue business, it's difficult to say when I'd make it back here, unfortunately. Food = 3/5 Facility = 3/5 Service = 4/5 Ambiance = 3/5 Value = 3/5

I had the most amazing burnt ends salad here, and I loved the homemade blue cheese dressing that came with it. Great staff and super cool atmosphere outside on the patio where they have live music. The Mac and Cheese was good as well! Definitely will return!

Wow. I have the meat sweats from the Sunday Buffett. Chicken wings/tenders, sausage, bacon, meatloaf were incredible. Definitely try this place. Great service and host very nice and helpful.

I've been here multiple times and it's usually always pretty good. I came in at 10am on October 12th for the brunch for my birthday and I was super excited! Got inside and no one told me happy birthday at all, (which is not excepted, but if I came to celebrate my birthday I thought I would at least get a happy birthday) and made getting seated super complicated when I made a reservation. Then I get up to go get my plate and I keep having to put them down and pick up the next one because they are all FILTHY! Wow, dirty plates? When I finally found a clean plate I went to the buffet and the food was mid. Everything was lukewarm as if it had been sitting over night and been reheated and everything I ate was way too bland or too salty, no in between. To top things off our waiter made matters worse by not being attentive at all. I'm super disappointed in this place and I don't think I'll be coming back for brunch here again because of this.

Blind Box did not disappoint! The staff were so helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. The brisket was so tender and juicy. The BBQ wontons were busting with meat. We loved the variety of BBQ sauces.

Stopped for breakfast. They had a buffet option so of course we took advantage to try everything. Both breakfast and lunch options were great but I probably enjoyed lunch more. Meat had fantastic flavor and they brought four sauces to the table. Included in the buffet was made to order prime rib and omelettes.

What a good experience! I went for a late lunch with my brother & sister in law today and we had some fabulous food. The server was great and the restaurant was clean. Prices are comparable to other BBQ restaurants but they have a really good happy hour menu if you can make it on a weekday!

Stick to what you know! Blind Box BBQ needs to stick to bbq because jumping on the brunch craze is not a lane they need to be in. Although this place packs to the masses for brunch just cause everybody and they momma is there doesn't mean you need to too. I came during restaurant week and it was 2 for $55 to eat their brunch when it is typically $36 a person. $36 a person is exploitation because none of their things are good and come across as frozen. They have an omelette station and a waffle station. You have to order it from your table and it takes forever to get to you. When the waffle came out it was over cooked and hard to the touch. I could've lost a tooth. And the omelet was nothing special...kinda runny. What is also a turn off is that the omelet station is right by the door so everyone waiting for a table is hovering over your omelet...gross. As for the buffet "stick to what you know" is the theme.. In the Buffett they featured French toast sticks and pancakes that looked like they were frozen but got jazzed up by getting heated up in a skillet and not in the microwave or toaster like what you would do at home. Their potatoes had no taste, their enchiladas were gross, their sausage was cut weird. They featured some of their typical sides and also chicken wings and ribs which were good along with their smoked salmon. Although those items were good.... it's a bbq place, I would hope so. For it to be brunch I feel like the ribs and chicken wings were left over from the night before and warmed up. It was good but....if you want to have a bbq buffet just say so. Their sweets table was impressive looking because of the chocolate fountain but everything looked like it was purchased from the Sam's Club. Or we can make it Costco to make it fancier. I will not be coming back again, Blind Box BBQ stick to what you know. You are decent at BBQ let the brunch people do the brunch you sit this one out.
