A regular casino restaurant, nothing outstanding in the decor. Booths are very tight to get into and out of. Only 2 servers on floor but not many patrons on a Sunday night. Had to ask for refills on drinks. The food was okay nothing spectacular. I had fish and chips and it was ok but no lemon or malt vinegar offered or provided? Hmmmm. Not one of my best outings.

I was heartbroken when "the little nugget" in Reno closed because of the pandemic. When I heard that the awful awful burger, (awful, big, and awful good! ) is at the Carson City nugget, I wanted to get here for sometime, but I haven't. The casino itself is a simple casino that caters more toward the locals. Old, but comfortable. I can't speak for the games, because I didn't play. But it just reminded me of an old-fashioned casino that goes way back when. They changed the name of the coffee shop to the capital city Grille. They did a good job with the remodel, it's bright and fresh, and it still has that old-fashioned coffee shop vibe, Unlike the crowded space with just a few tables that was in back of the Reno casino. Also, this place is not open 24 hours, like the one in Reno was. I retired from drinking a long time ago, but I still kind of remember that 3 AM stumble into the Reno nugget diner for an awful awful. Ah, the memories... The service was good. Right off the bat, my waitress advised me that she was the only person working, yet she still got to me pretty quick. There was nothing like the original awful awful at the Reno nugget, but I would say that this burger is a worthy heir to the throne. It's more of an "upscale awful awful", but it still holds the mantle of awful big, and awful good. When you order, they ask how you want your burger cooked. I asked for medium, and that's how it came. She also offered me several different options beside the fries. For me, fries, no question. I wanted the entire experience. At the old nugget, you'd get a giant basket of fries, which I could never finish. The burger reminded me so much of the original awful awful. It was immense! With my first bite, the memories just came flooding back. Instead of an onion bun, it now comes on a brioche bun, and as I ate the burger, the bun started to disintegrate a little bit, just like it used to do in Reno. It's hard for a bun to hold up to that much burger. All of the fixings were fresh, and my "awful awful sauce", just as good as always, came on the side. That was no problem, I used part of it on the burger, and the rest of it I used as a "fry sauce" which I love. , the fries were skin on steak fries, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and absolutely delicious. I'm not sure what they seasoned them with. Somehow, I managed to finish the whole meal. It's more expensive than the original, but hey, prices for everything have gone up. The price was still very reasonable. No, this isn't the Reno awful awful, but this place has done an awful awful good job of keeping the tradition going. (See what I did there? :) I will be back. Thanks.

We have eaten at the Capital City Grille several times before going to see Comedians. The food has always been good. The ambience is that of a typical coffee shop. The restaurant has always been immaculate. The only complaint is that service is always slow, so if you are there for an event, keep that in mind. We especially enjoyed the Awful Awful Burger, which is huge. The Chef Salad is also delicious. The lower rating is simply because the service is always slow and overwhelmed, which is something management should look into, especially when there are events at the casino.

The Carson City Grill inside the Carson Nugget is basically the redone and renamed Eatery. It's been remodeled and has a new menu. The Awful Awful is still on the menu, but there's a lot of other stuff too, like prime rib or steaks and other normal burgers as well as breakfast stuff served all day. I ordered a regular cheeseburger med rare with fries and my friend had a grilled chicken salad. Both were good. I really liked my burger and the fries were the nice thick cut steak fries. I kinda forget sometimes about the restaurant here inside the Nugget, but I think we should come here more often. The service is very good here and they don't disappear on you leaving you wondering about your order, like what happened at the new Governor's Grill at that other casino in town. Parking is way easy here and there's never a wait for a table.

We dined here in response to their offer for a free scampi dinner. The purpose of such a promotion is to drum up business. The food was so bad it had the opposite effect. The cook should be fired for putting out tasteless and inedible food. In addition to the (free) scampi dinner we ordered fish & chips and an appetizer. How can anyone ruin frying up frozen fish? The texture was repulsive.

Absolutely the worse service! Our waitress was atrocious, rude, disrespectful and argumentative from the moment we walked in. We ordered the awful awful which was true to its name...it was awful. Anyhow we ordered our burgers medium rare and when the waitress came to check on us she walked away when we were telling her they were cooked well done. When she brought the check we mentioned to her that the burgers were cooked wrong and were not good and that's when she became argumentative towards us and told us that had we of told her when she came by the table she could if done something about it. We explained to her that we tried but she walked away very pissy. She then proceeded to tell another waitress of the conversation, while we were still there and within earshot. She greeted us rudely , was rude through the whole dinner all the way up to the end. We won't be back and you Ms waitress should be fired!

We stopped at the casino and decided to try the restaurant Quite pleasantly surprised The food was excellent, fresh well priced great value for the money. The service was also very good. If you have not tried them you should check them out

I had a plate of two ribeyes here. Marguerite was my waitress she's also the floor manager and she was amazing. This is a very laid back place for being inside a casino. I was just looking for a steak because I'm a carnivore. She tailored my meal and it was a great experience. I ate at the bar and my waitress was super professional and friendly.

Ordered a medium rare burger. Was served a RAW burger. Was told they like to cook it on the rare side. What's weird is the burger I sent back was raw, not medium rare or rare or even "on the rare side". It was raw. So it's weird to have that response when the cook just kinda undercooked the burger and I was served a really bad product. Maybe next time just apologize and move on? Otherwise, thanks for the undercooked, borderline poisonous food.
