I recently emailed the veg fest people regarding feedback of their event. I stated how there was no seating area for people to eat their food where the food vendors were, and it was so hot I nearly passed out. Other patrons agreed as we both discussed this issue. There were also no trash cans to be found in the near vicinity of the food vendors, just recycle bins. The food cost was ridiculous, and when I wrote to this person in charge, he replied with a snarky response. My email was intended for feedback just so they could approve upon what they are already doing. I also thanked him for the event so I didn't just complain. I was hoping that they could take this constructive criticism and improve upon what they are already doing.

My first Vegas Veg Fest was in 2017 and today I happily returned for the 2018 rendition. Attending Veg Fest is practically mandatory for any self-respecting vegan. This vegan food haven is filled with mostly local herbivorous suppliers (e.g., Garden Grill, Pancho's Vegan Tacos, Vegenation, Tacotarian) and a few out-of-state notables (Southern Fried Vegan, Charlie's Brownies). Admission and parking are free, although there is a $3 suggested entry donation. Aside from vegan eateries galore, there's also local activist groups (Anonymous for the Voiceless, Las Vegas Animal Save) tabling here selling shirts or just giving out info. There are tons of vendors selling apparel with veg slogans and more specialized booths as well. I seen one vendor selling shoes with vegan leather, for example. Most of the lines are short. The longest will always be at Garden Grill or Southern Fried Vegan. The longest I waited today was around 10 minutes, but last year I easily waited up to 20 minutes. Gripes: No signage directing drivers where to park. Not all vendors take card (looking at you SFV). Overall, Vegas Veg Fest is amazing. I hope more out-of-state food vendors attend in the future. Veg fest is so much fun! Tons of great vendors and speakers! I enjoyed Garden Grill, Tacotarian, Charlie's Brownies & Heather Foods. Pro tips: show up early to avoid long food lines, wear sunscreen & bring water (it gets HOT), and bring blankets (to sit on). My only complaint: port-a-potties. Last year they had air-conditioned bathrooms available.

Free admission and free parking made this an event not to miss for fans of vegan food. It was an outdoor festival and weather got in the way for about 30 minutes. Fortunately, attendees were able to take shelter inside the government building while the clouds broke open and dropped rain on the vegan pizza and bombarded the chia smoothies with hailstones. Violette's Vegan restaurant was the main sponsor of Veg Fest. Instead of selling food, they generously provided samples of seitan wings, chocolate cake, and other signature dishes. I'm definitely planning to visit Violette's for lunch sometime soon. VegeNation and GFY Burgers & Fries had the longest lines. I ordered a cheese platter to sample different varieties of Virgin Cheese, a plate of Panevino's ravioli, and a piece of Simply Pure's key lime cheesecake. The ravioli was gluten-free and the pasta had an unusual mushy texture, making this my least favorite item. I saved the cheesecake to eat later and enjoyed it the most. I hope this event will return in the future! Musical entertainment would be a great addition to the lineup and I wouldn't hesitate to pay an entrance fee for a bigger and better Veg Fest.

Today was my second visit to Vegas Veg Fest. The lines seemed to be shorter and more vendors. There are several vendors of food, clothing, holistic crystals and rocks and vendors who have all natural homemade soaps and body products as well as outreach and information on living more cleanly. The grounds in which the festival is held, the government center, is immaculate. No trash everywhere and all the attendees and staff seem to be super thoughtful, nice and knowledgeable. Being vegan, food vendors are super proud of their fares and that's reflected in the prices, I found a cheeseburger for $16. Hard pass as I can order it on postmates, have it delivered to the festival grounds for about $12. I don't like that about festivals of any kind, but the prices should be held to a more reasonable amount. My friend and I had the Mac n cheese pizza from VegeNation, a bowl of Mac n cheese from another vendor, the slider trio from No Butcher and drinks and our Arnold Palmers were from DB, I think the name was. (Terrible not remembering the vendors names). And for a sweet after drink we had smoothies from Grouchy Johns coffee food truck. The pizza was fantastic, the crust was superb, only wish the bowl of Mac n cheese was on it instead of the Mac n cheese that came with it. The bowl of Mac n cheese was terrific, I could have eaten a 5 gallon tub of it. The drinks were also spectacular, though $10. The sliders were good, but wasn't super impressed by NoButcher despite the hype. They were good don't get me wrong, but middle of the road good. The smoothies were light, sweet, cold and very tasty. So, Vegas Veg Fest is a hit, love seeing all the vendors and wandering around, even some of the entertainment was good and have learned something each time I've gone. Bring lots of money, between the two of us we dropped nearly $300 and seriously only ate, got a couple t-shirts (my first vegan T's and some body products. Parking is free, entrance is free though you can donate. All in all it's a great little festival.

I feel so honored to have attended Vegas' second annual Veg Fest! My boyfriend and I are suffering from serious withdrawals because the food we had surpassed our expectations. We ate: -A chocolate cookie and brownie from Purple Potato (yes, we had dessert first!). They were not too hard or too soft, just delightfully chewy and tasty. Also, the price was reasonable ($2 each). -A buffalo chick'n sandwich from Garden Grill. Although the sandwich was $11, it was a nice medium size. The patty was still crispy despite being dipped in tangy, slightly spicy buffalo sauce, which my boyfriend and I devoured instantly. -A macaroni and cheese bowl with corn and bbq chick'n as the toppings from Southern Fried Vegan. This was my boyfriend's favorite and my second favorite treat. It was also the priciest food item we purchased ($15), but it was definitely worth it. -A large lemonade from Pancho's Kitchen. My boyfriend says it's the best lemonade he has ever had because it wasn't bitter, slightly sour, and the sweetness was just right. -3 for $5 falafel balls from Panevino Italian Grille. Now these were my favorite! All falafels should taste like Panevino's. They had a slight crunch on the outside and hot, soft goodness in the inside. A decadent tomato sauce was drizzled on top. I wish we had ordered more than three.. -A potato masala bowl from Desi Burrito, which contained the potato masala, rice, lettuce, pico de gallo, and a special sauce that I did not get the name of, but it improved the taste of the already delicious bowl. Only $6! My boyfriend and I got lucky because we had the last of the potato masala! -A slice of pumpkin cheesecake from Simply Pure by Chef Stacey Dougan (yes, we had dessert again..). It came with a small container of strawberry sauce that we drizzled on top. I wish it was bigger because it was $7 for a slice about the size of my palm. Also, it did not really taste pumpkin-y; it tasted like a regular cheesecake, but still incredibly tasty with a perfect texture! Thank you for the free parking and free admission! We are super excited to attend next year's Vegas Veg Fest!

Such a great event that I look forward to every year. Delicious food and drinks, live music and other entertainment. Family friendly, plenty of places to relax and enjoy the day.

Ok, I was very excited to go out and support the Vegas veg fest and its first year! Parking was hard to find but everyone was very nice about it. Her entrance fee was free or donation based. We gave a donation, as we were excited for the event. When we got there, it was lightly sprinkling.. No big deal, then the hail and down pour happened! Many exhibits were not set up for rain at all! We helped hold down one exhibitors tent to keep it from blowing away. With that being said, the event was well organized. There was a nice line up of entertainment and speakers for the even on the main stage. There was a nice mix of vendors for animal rights, clothing, natural vegan products, and of course food! Our favorite vegan bakery Bite was there with their tasty treats! It made me so sad that it was rained on. However, everyone was in a great mood, friendly, and enjoying the event!
