I have had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got the chance to try it! When we walked in you order at the counter and then find a seat. I love fish and chips! I decided to go with the cod and chips. I absolutely loved it! The fish was delicious and crispy on the outside. They also offer haddock which I think I will try next time. I regret not getting the curry sauce so I will definitely be back to try that. The service was amazing and the person at the front taking our order was super helpful. They brought the food to our table as well after we ordered. Definitely will be back to eat here again.

After hearing about this Fish & Chips emporium, and learning that it made the 2025 Yelp Elite Top 50 list, I decided to go here for dinner with Diane. Fish & Chips is one of her regular go-to meals, so she was amenable to sample a new place herself. To sample a variety of offerings, I began with a Bowl of Clam Chowder, which was shockingly hot, filled with clams, some chunks of Russet Potatoes, and delicious. The amount of soup was so abundant that I split it with Diane. We both thought it was first-rate. A request for oyster crackers yielded saltines. But really crackers were not needed at all. The almost scalding heat of the soup never really diminished, and I soon realized that I had burned the roof of my mouth. But, unfazed by this, I moved on to address a gigantic hunk of Cod that was brought to our table as part of my Cod & Chips order. The first thing I did with my Cod was to slice it in half with a knife. The golden batter held back the contents, and the white interior began smoking a bit. It, too, was very hot--but not as much as the soup. In all frankness, this fried fish tasted better than any others I have tried anywhere in the world except at Roy's Cod Place in Gibraltar. And it was clearly superior to what I experienced at Rock & Sole Plaice, a much more famous purveyor of Fish & Chips in London that had been the site of underground food distribution planning during World War II. At the Codfather, after applying a few lemon drops to the battered skin of my Cod along with a few shakes of malt vinegar provided in a plastic bottle, then dipping the fish in marvelous house-made Tartar Sauce, and finally biting down on the hot battered flesh, what taste buds I had left truly danced. Unincluded Coleslaw was just creamy enough, and with only a little bit of added salt was an excellent example of a fine side. And the log-shaped French Fries were very tasty. Service was quick and friendly. Soda is served here in cans. But an added cup of water was graciously given without charge. We arrived half an hour before closing, but were allowed to leisurely finish our meals until we walked out ten minutes after the listed closing time. We will definitely be back--next time to try some Haddock & Chips.

TL;DR: The food is amazing, the staff are wonderful and seemed to genuinely want us to have a great experience. If you are looking for a good fish and chips spot, look no further and go here you will NOT be disappointed. My fiance and I stopped in here for lunch today and it was fantastic. I'm not british and have never been to britain so I can't say how authentic it truly is. What I can say is that it was absolutely delicious. We live about 2 miles from here and had never heard of it but I am very happy it got recommended to us. We both got the Cod and Chips with a bowl of clam chowder. The clam chowder was out standing, it did need a bit more salt for my liking but it was very good. The real star of the show was the cod, needless to say I was shocked when they brought out my plate and I saw how big the piece was that I got. I obviously expected it to be covered in a thick batter to bulk up the size as most fish and chips places do to cut costs but to my amazement the exact opposite was true. The fish was coated in an amazing perfectly thick crunchy crust that encased an outstanding piece of cod. I was truly TRULY impressed. We've had fish and chips in vegas at several places that claimed to be british and this hands down beat them all. Crown n' Anchor used to be our spot but in the last 5-10 years they've absolutely fallen off of a cliff and after having gotten sick the last time we went we swore never to return. I am ecstatic to have a truly outstanding, local and authentic Fish and Chips spot so close to me. The staff was outstanding as well, it's a good sign for an authentic british fish and chips spot the the majority of the people working there have STRONG british accents, LOVE IT and it showed in the food. We will DEFINITELY be going back and if you are looking for a good spot for fish and chips give them a try. My 1 critique, is that the restaurant was too quiet, there was no ambience in the form of any kind of music or tv playing or anything, we sat in cold unfiltered silence which was easily drowned out by how amazing the food was.

What can I say?!?! This place is a hole in the wall and what a great place it is. From the decor to the staff, this place is amazing! The fish is so fresh and tasty. The malt vinegar they have is the chefs kiss. The staff were so sweet and great as well!! This is definitely going to be a great place for our work lunches! If you haven't tried this place, you really need to. I have lived here for over 2 decades and never heard of it. But I tell you, you will not be disappointed by the codfather food or staff!!!

Had the cod lunch special. Was pretty good. However the chips, I'd say 0/10. They were not crisp at all, more soggy and they were thick, so didn't enjoy the chips. Nice hot crisp chips would make all the difference. The clam chowder is a definite try!

Eat it while it's hot!!! Woman wanted to come here for a catfish sandwich (which they do not have). We did do the catfish & chips and I was curious about the pea fritters. Victoria was super kind and helpful (not to mention the BEST accent- the majority of what I watch is international, so this experience was RIGHT up my alley!) she gave us a cup of the peas to try. We liked them and wanted to try the fritters. We got it to go as we went close to closing. Food was out in under 10. There's a cool little area that looks like it's paying homage to someone's living room but there's flags and pride about the place. Very clean, lots of employees and the one I interacted with besides Victoria was super kind and accommodating. I love that they wrap the food in paper. No foil or plastic in sight! We've never experienced catfish breaded like fish and chips. Epic!!! I tried a fry then and it lacked flavor. Victoria brought us curry sauce to try w the fritters, gratis. Like she did w the mashed peas she told us it was ok if we didn't like it. It was shrink wrapped so I didn't bother it at the time. We shared a fritter w malt vinegar (my fave!) and it was fabulous! As was the fish. It was a big, fluffy piece that was sweet and tasty! We talked about getting another fish to go but they were already cleaning the kitchen. I wouldn't expect spice with British food, but I usually steer clear of curry bc of the spice favor. This was perfect! All the curry flavor with zero of the burn! I wish I'd had it when the fritter and sauce were hot! It was over an hour before we got settled to eat properly. The food wasn't the same as it was when we tried it at the restaurant. The fries were just flat not good. The oil made it evident that we went at the end of the night. The fish went from crispy and delicious to heavy and oily. The fritter didn't pop the same. So did I enjoy it? Yes! But hot and fresh! Once it sits it loses its charm. But that's no reason to not go. I'd just eat there or within a few minutes of picking up. Thanks Victoria and staff!

If you want it done right you have to go to the place that they know what they're doing! At The Codfather they Know what they are doing! I can't believe I just found this great, truly British Fish and Chips Spot. Apparently like just about everyone already knows. Because as I keep trying to tell folks about it they already know. From the start you can tell the food is going to be spot on. Cutely decorated and portraying the English motif. The staff by the way is also from England. Tried many things and each dish was stellar. Some of the Best Chowder I have had in like forever. Enjoyed the Pea Fritters and Fried Sausage. The Fried Fish was excellent and paired with hand cut house made chips. You really can't go wrong here so order with confidence.

Rating: 3.8/5 [take out] We ordered takeout from Codfather, and the food was ready in about 15 minutes. They included malt vinegar packets (which we didn't end up using) and two containers of tartar sauce. The tartar sauce was actually really good and added most of the flavor so I was constantly dipping everything in it. Pickled Onion ($1.75): My husband said they were hard and not edible. Hard pass. All the fried food had a nice, crispy batter, but the coating tended to fall off the protein easily and everything was super oily. Spam Fritters ($5.95): Came with two slices of fried Spam. They were good and had enough flavor on their own. Haddock ($12.50): Seemed pricey at first, but the piece of fish was absolutely huge. Cod & Chips ($14.95): The chips were just thick-cut fries--too starchy for me and not seasoned. Both the cod and haddock were fresh with no fishy smell or taste, but honestly, we couldn't really tell them apart.

The Codfather ... that's a great name for a fish and chips restaurant! Las Vegas has only a few or less even dedicated fish and chips restaurants. Plenty of fish and chips at sports bars and other casino restaurants, but not any dedicated place. Back in Sacramento Valley, we have lots of fish and chips places, maybe jus ta local thing in Sacramento. I'll say the fish here I think is better than the fish pieces we have back home. My local places use pollock fish I think which is still better than those frozen battered fish fingers most sports bars fry up. Here at the Codfather, it's one huge big piece of cod, pretty thick too. The chips (fries) are sort of normal. Gotta use the malt vinegar and salt to be authentic British! I saw this place on Youtube, and the host was using catsup on the fish! YUCK! This fish was probably the best fish and chips I ever had. Prices were average these days about $16 for an order. Gone are the days of under $10 fish and chips!

Batter on the fish & chips were perfectly flaky and not too thick. Portion was huge and a great value. However, cod itself was a bit dry, although not sure if this was just an off-day. Clam chowder and battered sausage were both great. Sausage in particular was a pleasant surprise; wasn't sure what to expect but it was really good, and no where as salty or greasy as I expected it to be. The place itself had some great decor, and service was quick and friendly. All the British accents made me feel right back in London!
