It took us 90 minutes to return our car here. Never again - I will just go to the airport. There was no signage at the casino and the email from Avis had no details specifying what to do with the car. The Avis desk was closed, it's only open til 12p. When we arrived, we asked at the hotel registration desk and they were not sure what to do. We drove around for 45 minutes in Vegas traffic asking people if they knew where rental return was until we finally learned about designated spots on the 4th floor of the parking garage. Then there were no instructions or resources in the Avis section of the garage for how to return the car. It's a good thing for google and that we held onto the slip they gave us 2 weeks ago when we rented the car bc we were expected to fill out the back side and bring it into the hotel drop box. Just a nightmare. Like I said, never again.

We initially rented our car from Luxor, but because their computers were down, we did have to walk all the way from Luxor to Mandalay Bay counter in order to get a car. I will say that the gentleman that greeted us was very nice and accommodating, and upgraded us to a Mustang Convertible from a Toyota Corolla. It did take us an additional 45 minutes walking with heavy suitcases from one location to the other. And this was not a short or easy walk. Our biggest complaint is that upon returning the car, we were charged an egregious amount for what they say is 1.3 gallons of gas less than what we picked the car up with. The car level was exactly the same as far as the gas. When we picked it up, it was on full when we returned it, it was exactly on full. I do believe this is just their way of getting additional money from consumers by saying that the gas tank wasn't exactly at the appropriate level when in fact, I personally gassed the car up and squeezed in extra gas and feel that there was plenty of gas in there. Because of this, I don't believe we would ever rent from Avis again.

If I could pay to give negative stars, I would and it would have been a more useful application of my money. Rented a car - but not the car I requested. None of the cars were fueled - I had to refuel\ None of the cars were cleaned - I have to clean I was charged for not returning the the car with the same fuel level ( but I returned it with more I was charged for damage, I did not damage the car. Word of Advice: Use any online or car-sharing service. It is worth the extra money and you are dealing with a real person.

We have planned this trip to Las Vegas for the last two months. In anticipation of my husband finishing up chemotherapy and radiation treatment. We rented a 12 seat passenger van from Avis at the oceanside location. Unfortunately when we went to pick it up the van did not meet our expectation in regards to torn carpet, seats and there was a musty odor in the van. So they recommended that we go to the San Diego airport location which is 47 miles from Oceanside. So we're happy with our rental and halfway to Las Vegas the AC goes out. We are late for our event in Las Vegas so we decided to keep on driving get to our location and get ready for our event. We called Avis corporate and they recommended that we go to the Avis at Mandalay Bay. Upon our arrival at 1:30pm there was no one there! However, there was a note on the counter saying they would be right back. We called the number posted on the note and unfortunately the young lady said they were washing cars and could not help us. They recommended we come to the Las Vegas airport location to see if they could exchange our vehicle. So now we are at the Las Vegas airport Avis location awaiting a resolution. Our expectation for this long awaited vacation has fallen short due to the customer experience we received from Avis. We shall see what they say. So to update this yelp review, after standing in line for about an hour at the McCarran airport location, . We were assisted by a gentleman by the name of Esteban. After watching this associate deal with a line of disgruntled customers that went out the door, he absolutely showed me why he was at that counter ready to assist in any way he could. His number 1 skill that he used was he LISTENED to each customer and let them talk! That's it, he listened, created a game plan that met with each customers expectation, and assured that each one left his counter satisfied. Esteban, thank you for taking the time in helping my family exchange our 12 seat passenger van so we were able to get home to San Diego with AC! Avis Corporate, you should have Esfahan train all of yours associates! He exceeded my expectations! Thank you Esteban! Unfortunately I didn't get your last name, but thank you!

Do yourself a favor and do not use Avis! Especially at this location! No one at desk for return of navigation and keys. Called customer service ....what a joke! I got in the car and it had 3/4 of a tank so that is what I topped it off at. Of course charged to fill up. Also charged too many days as there was no one to check me in. Prepaid $333 and got charged an additional $455! Of course they don't email a receipt but you can get it off their website. The reason for that? To screw as many people as they can! My credit card company is currently charging back. I wish I would have read these reviews before booking! Renters beware!

Its amazing that you have to put up with unprofessional people at places like this. Jalin was the rep at the desk who seemed to be annoyed we needed her 'help' getting a car. WHen we arrived, Jalin had headphones in. Yea, thats professional. She didnt greet us. But did inform us of her lunch that begins bat noon. Yea.. you can go to lunch AFTER. Its vegas. Youd think avis can hire people who are friendly. Jalin just seemed like a jaded cop hating life and it shows with her attitude. I hope avis reads and follows through with these reviews.

UGLIEST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER! Here how it went exactly: 2 and a half weeks ago I rented a car on Avis website. I already paid my debit card online and received a confirmation email. The day I went to pickup: 1) There was no one on the desk. 2) I called the number given and the guy answered phone by saying 'I told ya I'm comin''. I waited for 15 minutes. 3) Finally he showed up and asked my driver license and debit card. I gave them. He said that I need to provide my credit card. And, stopped helping me. Correction - he even stopped talking to me. 4) I opened the website and showed him the debit card policy. He didn't even look at it or me and said 'gotcha, gotcha' with the lamest voice of tone ever. 5) I asked him to refund me and he replied 'call customer service'. 6) I called it and waited for more than 2 hours to talk to one. I explained the situation and confirmed the refund within next 3-5 biz days. 7) Meanwhile, because of that staff in the desk, I lost hours and received an email stating that I missed the pickup time and there will be no refund. 8) I spent some more hours to talk to a customer service rep again. But, no chance. No answer. 9) I called them again in the following days. The rep told me that he can see the refund approve on their system. Today is the 14th business day and nothing has happened. 10) I'm still trying to get my refund. STAY AWAY! All being said, I'll be happy to join a class action lawsuit. Otherwise, I'll just have my lawyer to do whatever he can.

I am typically not one to complain, but this has to be one of the worst top to bottom experiences I have had with the car rental industry. Recommendation, if you do rent from this location, go check out the vehicle first, because an upgrade to them means "the specific vehicle chosen is not available and more then likely it's a downgraded Ford Escape POS." Front desk service was blunt and rude, plus the vehicle given was dirty, poor quality and had zero options I chose at time of reservation. If you have an issue, report it within 24 hours of the rental or you are stuck with it, period! Oh, and have it fully gassed up or you get charged $9+ a gallon. Do not recommend this company nor location.

No customer service available because they were washing cars. We had to call and couldn't be helped because they were busy. We were told the Las Vegas airport wasn't picking up the phone line so we had to call corporate and still no help by angel employee 40174678 would give us his full name. We called airport and no answer so now headed there to exchange rental van. We have a van without ac since Friday and no help.
