This is a review of the Western USA National Parks Loop tour. I booked through Intrepid Travel, but the tour was led by a tour leader from Bindlestiff named Indy Holmes. I can't tell you how impressed I was both with the sites we saw along the way (i.e., Zion, Bryce, Lake Powell, Monument Valley, and the Grand Canyon) and the excellence of our guide. Imagine if Santa Claus lost a few pounds and decided to make a career change. That's Indy. He was always upbeat and always interesting, taking care to interact with every passenger and dealing with changing circumstances with aplomb. When it rained, Indy was quick to come up with Plan B, and if that didn't work out Plan C or D. He was always able to pivot and salvage a bad situation, making it look easy. He did all of this while juggling a demanding schedule, driving, and giving us plenty of extras along the way. Indy genuinely enjoys people, and it really comes across in the way that he treats his passengers. I always felt safe when Indy was driving or leading a hike. He would make sure that the person trailing at the end of the group (usually me!) was looked after, either by waiting at a fork in the trail to make sure that no one missed the right turnoff or hanging back to be the "sweeper." Not all tour leaders do this, but the good ones do - and it makes a big difference. Indy was very engaging and made everyone feel welcome. I feel incredibly luck to have had him as my tour leader.

Just finished an excellent, memorable seven-day national parks tour with Joe R (Zion, Bryce, Arches, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon). Had a bit of everything along the way: clear skies/vistas, sunrise hike, windy jeep tour, and rain / snow (fortunately all between stops in the van). Nice commentary and touches along the way (e.g., the charcuterie board). Well worth the trip!

I just returned from the most fabulous 11 DAY Southwest USA tour with this company- serious the best tour I have ever been on! Thank you to my amazing guides Amber and Hogan for making this truly a trip of a lifetime! I chose the camping version, campgrounds were great- all had full bathroom facilities, most had wifi and two had swimming pools and outdoor hot tubs! We had campfires each night and delicious camp meals under the stars. The sunrise at both Monument Valley (from my tent) is a memory etched in my mind forever! Thank you to Bindlestiff for making this dream trip come true!

we booked through AAA travel & met with intrepid representative named Indy Holmes, in Las Vegas for a 5 day western USA loop park tour, Zion, Bryce, monument valley, Grand Canyon trip of a lifetime, if you want amazing wonderful adventure take this trip and recommend Indy Holmes. Day 1 welcoming he took time in introduce himself and our 5 hikers for the week and explained what was happening day by day , he scheduled time to meet for Daily activities and meal times , everyone abided by the times we were always on schedule, he informed us were to meet and always made sure we always had 6 people start to finish he recommended sights, pictures, places, dinners and helicopters and never disappointed, he even decorated the van for my Birthday we had a wonderful enjoyable vacation thanks to Indy we would never see or do what we did on our own.

Recently did a 7 day National Parks tour with Bindlestiff. The parks and other sights that are visited on this tour are beautiful! Unfortunately, I can't recommend this tour due to concerning incidents that occurred during my trip. Due to the current situation with Covid, I specifically chose this tour because the Bindlestiff website highlighted the Covid precautions which were being taken to ensure a safe trip. Those precautions however, were not taken. All guests were supposed to have temperature checks, as well as wear their face mask whenever they are in the tour vehicle. At no point during the tour were temperatures taken. The guide was not wearing a mask, nor did he mandate that any guests on the tour wear one. Only after a number of days and expressing concern about the lack of masks in the small van, did the tour guide request the rest of the passengers wear a mask or attempt to wear his own mask. (and still not everyone complied) After returning from my trip, I noticed a prior review from October, also mentioned that masks were not worn on their tour, so it seems to be an ongoing issue. Due to Covid the tour isn't currently cooking at the campsites and instead along with having some picnics, we had to do indoor dining, which is not as safe during a pandemic. The lack of Covid precautions caused me distress during the entire trip and when I emailed the company at the end of the trip about the unsatisfactory experience, they said they wouldn't offer any compensation because the guide did accommodate us when we asked for masks to be worn in the middle of the trip. The company said I should have informed them earlier that the rules were not being followed, but this would be impossible since the National Parks offer very little cell phone reception. This is also unacceptable because it should not be the responsibility of guests to enforce the Covid precautions which were highlighted as compulsory on the Bindlestiff website. I would definitely recommend visiting the National Parks, but utilize a different company that values the safety of their guests.

Of all the trips we had to cancel due to the Pandemic, this company was the only one that insisted on charging a cancellation fee! We had to cancel 2 expensive cruises, several tours and numerous flights, all without penalty. But Bindlestiff wanted to charge us over $300 to cancel our 3-day trip to the National Parks, claiming they had incurred fees for assisting our rebooking the trip twice through Tour Radar. Wait, what?! This was a PANDEMIC; everything was being cancelled anyway! After some haggling, Bindlestiff finally subtracted just $50 before refunding our payment. Exasperated, I gave up the fight. But I vow to NEVER book future trips with the only company that fought with us during a pandemic. What a stupid PR move. And they should refund our $50 too.

So I'm sitting in my hotel room in Las Vegas trying to reminisce about all the amazing things that happened this week and quite frankly it's overwhelming. Our group had an amazing trip. We got to see things that made us say wow over and over again. I was on the trip that went through Zion, Bryce, Monument Valley, and the Grand Canyon, And I can say it was an experience of a lifetime. I was able to take things off my bucket list that I didn't even know we're on my bucket list. Our guide was exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and quite frankly very fun. I would definitely do one of their tours again. Thanks for the experience of a lifetime!

I was very excited to book a tour to Death Valley. I did a lot of research on which tour to take, and despite reading some negative reviews, such as unpleasant seating, this was one of the few tours that offered a trip to DV in July. Unfortunately, I fell ill on the Friday before the Sunday tour and ended up changing all of my travel plans, including canceling this trip. Be warned: the cancellation policy is 48 hours in advance. If you call merely two hours after that (like I did), you will be denied any type of refund. Actually, the Bindlestiff tour representative that I spoke with on the phone stated, "Oh yeah the manager is a real stickler on the refund policy. Someone recently canceled because they were hospitalized and we still didn't refund them!" The lack of empathy and customer service here is disappointing. The fact that I didn't go on the tour, when it was confirmed that the tour still had available seating, and my presence or lack thereof, did not impact anyone, seems fraudulent. They did say I could reschedule, however only allowed a 30 day window to do that. Not much to work with when you are from out of town.

Just finished the Death Valley Tour with our tour guide Mike.... fantabulous!!!! Mike is an awesome tour guide, he really made this tour very special! He has a great personality, was very well informed, definitely knew his stuff, and you canguide is as excellent as Mike, that's what makes it memorable! We all had fun, took us to awesome places to take pics, and have us excellent tips. Thanks Mike for such an awesome time!!
