Discovered this place through a friend's recommendation. So glad we checked it out because we were pleasantly surprised! On the outside, the restaurant is called "Fortune" but it seems to be an old "Noodle Man" restaurant, or maybe it is a partnership with the "Noodle Man" because the artwork inside and the exit door showed "The Noodle Man". Yet, the receipt said "Chubby Boy BBQ", so either they are all partners in this joint or it has multiple personalities or maybe they just haven't completely changed to one name. Either way, as long as the food is good, whatever they call it is fine with me. :) So the inside has 2 dining areas and the center of the place is a BBQ place where you can see roast ducks and Xa Xiu Pork hanging there like any China Town BBQ joint would have. Maybe this is their "Chubby Boy BBQ"? They also have Soy Sauce chicken, Pork Belly, etc. and you can get half or whole chicken. The Pork Belly (Xa Xiu pork) is per pound. When you are seated, they will give you a menu as well as the Dim Sum menu, where you can visually see the items and you can check mark or put down how many you want per item. The Dim Sum items are per category of A, B, C, D and the pricing will apply to those areas. eg. items in the A category is $, B is $$, C is $$$ and so on. Once ordered, they will print out the items you ordered and give you that list. As they bring out the ordered items, they will cross that off the list. This system is quite neat because there is no misunderstanding of what was ordered, what has been brought out and what is still "outstanding" till they bring them to your table. It's very efficient and transparent, which I really appreciated. The Food: You can see the quality of the food here which is pleasantly and thankfully very good! We were very pleased that everything looked really fresh and very tasty. Definitely a step above other dim sum places we have had. The staff is very friendly, very quick to respond to you. They were jammed packed for a Sunday lunch time and the staff was running around like crazy. Despite how busy and chaotic things were, they seemed to have managed very well and were quick to respond to tables calling/waving them down. They were very friendly and courteous, unlike most Chinese restaurants where cracking a smile or a friendly look would have been uncalled for. The dining areas are very clean, though, and the decor is nice, not overly done. Overall, a very nice, clean look. The majority of the patrons are Chinese, so that is very telling cuz Chinese patrons are some of the hardest patrons when it comes to services and food quality. lol The bathroom could use some attention but maybe because of the lunch rush, it wasn't as kept up. Definitely a step above other Dim Sum places. Other places are like a Walmart of Dim Sum, this places is like a department store Dim Sum, like Kohl's or Macy's. Glad we found this place and will come back for sure.

The food is standard Cantonese cuisine that is prepared well. None of the dishes were outstanding but none of them were below par. I was not a fan of the tea being served because I am much more familiar with jasmine teas. The service was crisp and efficient as you would expect in a Chinese restaurant located in Chinatown. Not super friendly, but solid execution. The restaurant itself is fairly clean but definitely shows its age. The shopping mall that it resides in is a bit sad looking and might give you pause. Soldiers on and you will find the restaurant is much nicer once you are inside.

Feed your fortune at Fortune!!! :) Fortune is one of my fave dim sum spots in town! Items come out piping hot and the color menu with all the pics is a big help since this is not a dim sum cart type of place. You mark the items on the menu and they bring the dim sum delights to you!! In addition to the regular dim sum menu, they have additonal items available such as the lobster noodles and garlic oysters! Yummm!!! The food quality and taste is always consistent! There isn't a dish I don't like here! Their turnip cake (lo bak go) is really good and I am a sucker for their desserts! Their egg custard tarts are delish, which they do run out of so be sure to ask before placing your order! I recently had their ma tai go, which is a water chestnut cake (gelatin with water chestnut pieces in between coconut jello) and it was a perfect way to end dim sum! Not too sweet and refreshing! Service is great and parking is never an issue! Taste the dim sum fortune here!!!

We've been going to Chubby Boy BBQ and watched this dimsum place slowly being built since last year. I made a reservation through Yelp since we went on a Sunday morning but didn't really need it at 11am. However, the place was packed by the time we were done. This place serves dimsum every day until 3pm but without the roving carts. The food came out pretty fast and service was prompt for the most part. Dimsum prices range from $4.58 - $9.99 with a few specials for $3.99 - $4.99. These prices are not bad for Vegas but still higher compared to SoCal. The pork shumai, ham sui kok (deep-fried meat roll), and shrimp paste in tofu were good. The lo mai gai (sticky rice in lotus leaf) was okay but I've had better. I would skip the chicken bun from the specials menu since it had more veggies than chicken in the filling. The crispy noodles with seafood and crispy pork belly were the highlights of our meal. Hopefully, we can go back soon and try the other dishes.

Amazing quality dim sum without a lot of people or a long line! I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh everything was and not greasy at all. My favorite dish shrimp rice noodle/ha cheung fun was sooo good! The lotus sticky rice was full of meat while most places have more rice than meat ratio. The service was quick and everything I've had was really good!

Had dinner here with the whole family here a couple of weeks ago. There were 12 of us, including 3 kids. We were seated in a large room with a TV, which was great because it kept the kids entertained and busy -- well, sorta. The servers were attentive and accommodating throughout. The place had a nice ambiance and was clean. We ordered lobster noodles, hometown fried rice vermicelli, signature fried rice, crispy skin roast duck (whole), shrimp har gow, shrimp shumai, garlic choy sum, walnut shrimp, sugarcane shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, mongolian beef, and baked sweet cream buns. I wouldn't say it was the best I've had, but everything was good overall. The duck had good flavor, though it wasn't very crispy. The sugarcane shrimp, shrimp shumai, fried rice, mongolian beef were all good. The sweet and sour chicken and walnut shrimp were a little too sweet for me but still enjoyable. I loved their baked sweet cream bun. It didn't have a custard filling like I was expecting but it was still great, especially after I popped the leftover bun in the microwave for a few seconds. I'm actually thinking of going back just to order a few to go. After dinner, the kids played on the claw machine just outside the restaurant (still inside the building), which was a fun way to hang out and chill after eating. Overall, we had a great experience here.

We've been here I don't know, three or four or maybe even five or six times, but the squidlett and her hubs, has never joined us. They were in the mood so we all toodles down there at around 10:30. There were about five tables occupied, which was a bit new for us as we usually get there at opening time and leave before it gets busy. We were seated at a four top and I guess if you follow dim sum tradition and etiquette and don't load the table up at first order it would have been fine. But the table got really crowded, really fast and we had to keep shuffling plates around. The round table with the lazy Susan would have been better, but they naturally wanted to use that for larger parties. Service..... In my opinion not as friendly or as engaging, maybe a bit more rushed. They did put our order ticket down so they could cross off items as they were delivered which was a good idea. I still like their color menu as far as the ordered process goes.... I think a tablet based ordering system would be great at this place. On to the food..... I guess we ordered pretty much the same types of things we always do, hargow's, shumai's, steamed buns, spare-ribs, Lomaigi (sticky rice in lotus leaf), some noodle dishes, shrimp balls in sugar cane, sesame balls , congee etc etc. overall the food was good, not great, the shumai's were a bit dry, the xaio long bao (soup dumplings) were warm, not hot. The congee, was barely warm. I guess overall, it was enjoyable but I definitely think things have changed since they first opened..... maybe just take a step back and reassess.....

Coming to this restaurant I was skeptical, not sure if the food was gonna be good. There was two side of the restaurant. It wasn't sure if I was in the right place. The food was brought to the table pretty quickly.The dim sum taste authentic, Cantonese style.

While hanging out at the nearby Sweet Talk, we saw the signage for Fortune. It appears that Fortune took over the The Noodle Man Spot and also controls the Chubby Boy BBQ side as well. You can enter from the parking lot through the one glass door (which used to the be The Noodle Man entrance) or through the general entrance passing by Sweet Talk, Souperb Wagyu Hot Pot & Grill and Tbaar (which I believes goes by another name now). They offer dim sum during the day, as dim sum should only be a brunch/lunch item. And they have a very extensive Chinese menu, in addition to Chinese BBQ items. We ran into Debbie N. and she told us about their Lobster Noodles specials that she was picking up that day. We ended returning the following week to try this dish. * Lobster Noodles $26.99 - This is a special limited time item and they guarantee one pound of lobster meat. When I was digging through the shells, some appeared empty but I guess they need to do this so they don't give away too much meat when it's a bigger lobster. The noodles were good too. * Garlic Oysters $19.99 for 6 - This was also a special limited time time. Six large mussels baked with loads of garlic. * Crispy Pork Belly $19.99/lb - It's listed on the menu as "Special Braised Pork Belly" but I like to call it Crispy Pork Belly as it's all about the crispy pork skin. This Chinese menu item is always a winner, and beats how other roasted pigs are made. Their version had a lot of fat, which can be a good or bad thing. They serve it with hoisan sauce too. You do need to get a minimum of a pound when ordering this dish, as we attempted to do half and they wouldn't let us. * Red Bean Sago Dessert - This was a surprise as it's complimentary. It's been a long time since I received a complimentary dessert at a Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas. I'm not the biggest fan of red bean personally, but theirs was enjoyable and a nice sweet treat at the end. Service was very efficient - which the servers even refilling our tea cups. They also tried changing our plates midway, but we didn't need to this time. I appreciate that they offered tea when we sat down as it seems tea has become an extra cost at other Chinese establishments. (Growing up, tea was always offered and complimentary when dining at Chinese restaurants. The only place that used to charge was dim sum restaurants, which is expected.) And they serve a very aromatic Jasmine variety. Nice choice. I would love to return to try out their dim sum, although I don't think they use the carts though. They also have a private room with three tables that can hold about 30 people, give or take.
