Turned on the News on Fox 5 Local Las Vegas, yesterday morning, to see the Veterans Day Parade. (I don't have the day off, but I am at work. The tv is on in the Waiting Room, which is one of the viewpoints from my desk.) We honor you, we appreciate you, we thank you for your Service. We understand your Sacrifice. I cannot say Thank You enough for serving our Country. THANK YOU to the City of Las Vegas. It was a great turnout. I am glad that there was a very warm reception for our Veterans. It was so nice to see so many young children stating, "Thank You for keeping our country safe" and "Thank You for your service."

Fremont has been hosting some EDM type block parties and they have been super fun to attend! From the likes of Major Lazer to Diplo, these free events have been the highlight of DTLV this Fall! The Djs have been bringing in over fourteen thousand fans (according to DTLV IG page post). Diplo was from 6-10pm last night and it was a great time. The music was bumping and the people were dancing! Many have been saying that Vegas is dying, but, partying with Diplo on a Monday night proves that the city is very much alive :)

I've decided I might be too old for Vegas The last time I was here was 2013 so its been a while but I had the best time on fremont street so I booked a room at the Golden Nugget this time. It wasnt AS fun, it was very very crowded on fremont street, just crossing over to Binions was a whole thing with bodies everywhere. Even at 2am, the amount of people on the street was wild! Granted this is the weekend before Halloween and the weather is significantly cooler than the dead of summer so this is totally a me problem. I also didn't like that there's no where to sit, maybe we aren't supposed to do that but it would have been nice to chill off my feet and people watch. Also gonna say, crazy to see babies in strollers at 1 and 2 am being pushed thru clouds of weed smoke and what not. I say there should be no kids after a certain time but thats just me being old.

Well it is true Las Vegas is showing a little sign of decline of business . I can see it myself spending time in Las Vegas in early October. Actually downtown and Fremont experience is busier than the strip because we all know lots of us Hawaii people go to Vegas ha ha . Hopefully they bring down prices and don't charge for everything . On the strip they charge for Valet so far the Boyd's property don't charge , but Golden Nugget , The 'D Circa all charge what a rip off . Everyone also charges resort fee . The room rate may be inexpensive but you get killed with the resort fees . After the pandemic Las Vegas is trying to recover their losses that's why .

These are just some of the things you will encounter while visiting, walking or driving thru. Lively, vivacious, curious, cheap eats, long lines, zip lines, live bands, cvs, Mickey, dancing gorillas, jiggly, smoky, dancing, jumping, magic, frozen Margaritas, Dennys, White Castle, casino, hotels, stars, prime rib, steak, street performers. Parking structure is the best place to find parking. It may be crowded elsewhere. Lots of people all hours of the night and day. It may not be suitable for all ages but it's one of those experiences that's different for everyone.

Freemont Street Experience has something for everyone. There is so much variety of things down here that you will not get bored. The best people watching in town is in this lively, eccentric part of town! Recently, I enjoyed seeing the Off Axis Stunt Show (free outside) located close to the D. Such a talented group of 3 guys that are able to move in ways that will amaze you. There are many street performers out, but with the newest laws, I believe they have to stay in their circles and cannot force you to pay them so please remember that when down here. You will see risqué street performers to giant Godzilla costumes to musicians to contortionists....anything peculiar you may see here. Check their website as many times they offer free concerts as well. You can zip line over the Freemont Experience, grab a drink at a bar (or a Yard), gamble, eat, shop, be entertained by street performers, etc. If you are feeling brave you can test your heart out at the Heart Attack Grille.

A must visit if you want to advoid the strip. My bf and I have been here a few times. The area is covered with a huge screen. It gives an illusion that it is still daylight. This is the place to people watch. So many different people. Places to eat. Cheap places to buy stuff you dont need. AKA keychains, magnets, shot glasses. There are 2 stages with live bands all night. There is also the zipline which is fun. Do yourself a favor. When you park, take a picture. We ended up getting lost for blocks. I have a huge blister to prove it. Remember to validate parking. It says free parking, but its not free. We paid $20. Check it out. Its a big party.

So unique and weird! Great Live shows and awesome entertainers for tips, pay attention to the featured tribute shows on the canopy at top of every hour after dark. Make sure to check out the newest resort called Circa (21+)

We had two hours before oxtail soup is served at the Cal. We parked and decided to walk the Fremont Experience. In 101 degree weather at 9 pm it wasn't the most pleasant jaunt there. Glad it took up one hour going in a couple stores like ABC which had AC. Lots of Hello Kitty and friends totes, disposable reusable bags saying both Hawái and Las Vegas. Outside 2 bands rockin it, some audience were feeling the rhythm and began dancing. Various people in pairs some in fishnet with whips, 6 pack abs shirtless guys wearing jeans and a few showgirl types decked out in old time feather headdress plus more were spaced out for photo ops. Moving color on the ceiling along with people soaring overhead on cables from one end to almost the other of the event was eye catching. I would describe it as raunchy Las Vegas, while others may say it's a fun spectacle. People of all ages were walking the crowded area like us.

Fremont Street is a must-see/must-do (tourist trap) when in Vegas. It is so kitsch, loud, and raunchy. It is a street that connects the back of casinos/hotels and stretches a couple of blocks. There are plenty of places to have libations while walking around, as well as plenty of places to buy souvenirs. There is an abundance of street performers, and I think their overall claim to fame is the zipline over Freemont. So much fun.
