I'm a big fan of the original Sand Dollar, but this location was a disappointment. The place was almost empty on a Friday night and just didn't have the same lively vibe as other nearby bars. A friend and I each put in $20 to gamble, betting $1 a hand, and we ordered two shots for ourselves. I also offered to pay for two more shots for friends who weren't gambling. When the bill came, we were charged for all four. I asked the bartender about comping at least two of them since we were playing, but she seemed unsure of the rules. She said she didn't think "specialty shots" (like the $11 green tea shots we ordered) could be comped. That's understandable, but what frustrated me was the lack of communication. Normally, bartenders will let you know upfront if a drink doesn't qualify, so you can decide whether to order something else. Instead, we gambled our $20 each expecting two shots to be comped, only to end up paying nearly $90 for four shots. We weren't even offered an alternative comp drink to make up for it, and after dropping off the shots, the bartender seemed to avoid us entirely. Overall, I'd recommend better training for the bartenders--not just on comp rules, but on clearly communicating them. Guests should never leave feeling confused or taken advantage of.

I guess i came here at a time that isn't popular with the rest of Fremont. There were about 5 ppl sitting at the bar when I walked in. The bartender was amazing and quite literally the best person to provide recommendations for other bars to check out. WARNING: I ordered 2 specialty shots and was charged $24.

The Sand Dollar Downtown is a bar within The Plaza that offers live music but not when I was there for a nightcap. I didn't find anything remarkable about it. I will say this: One of the great things about The Plaza is the place doesn't rape you on the price of things. For example, my Coors Light was $6.50, which is a lot less than what one would be called upon to pay at a lot of places in Vegas. I'll give it another try the next time I stay at The Plaza. Cheers.

I know they are trying to duplicate the original dive bar concept, but the space is so new why not class it up a bit? Everyone was drinking out of a plastic cup....we ordered a Moscow mule and it was in a plastic cup...a little watered down...certainly not what you would expect from a 13-15 dollar drink...thankfully we had comp slips for this drink...I would have been highly disappointed if I paid. I saw the website and got fooled that they would serve really cool craft cocktails here....was not the case today. Bartender was very nice, played great music....just lose the plastic cups for God's sake!!!

A nice grunge/ rock craft beer tavern that was cozy and a nice escape from the losing of money in the Casino. I'm not much of a gamble but I do enjoy a crisp IPA with my lady. The bar staff was laid back and welcoming. A really cool spot

This place has a good craft beer menu, consisting of draught and canned selections. They have year-round and seasonal cocktail menus. They're very proud of their Christmas holiday edition. They go all with Christmas decoration, including covering the walls with wrapping paper. Prices are reasonable. Service is attentive and friendly. They have menus and buzzers for Pop Up Pizza in the neighboring food court. They bartenders bring the food to you. It looks like it is delivered to them through their back kitchen. Most seats at the bar have video poker machines. Came here for New Year's Eve 2024, featuring live music by The Moonshiners. This band plays swing music versions of Top 40 hits, which adds "name that tune" fun to the entertainment. There was no line or cover charge to get it. It wasn't too crowded during the peak time. Bartenders validated parking tickets to waive the $50 parking fee that night. The parking garage was completely full, but there was plenty of parking in the adjoining lot. To me, the only drawback to this place is that it is located in an old smoky casino with no windows to the outside.

Fun bar located inside The Plaza with a Beachbum Berry Sippin Santa Santa Pop Up. Great cocktails served by an excellent bartender Shajae was so friendly and nice. Plus she made a great old fashioned cocktail.

I was able to meet Savannah who was a great bartender! Went down there to have a couple drinks and the bartender was very informative and very easy to talk to. Definitely will be coming back. We did go on a slower day but it was still lively with people on the billiards table, some on the bar and a setup for the band! Overall a great experience and will be coming back.

First time experience at the downtown LV version of the Sand Dollar...went for the livestream of night 2 of Phish at the Sphere...nice interior, modern vibe with a long bar adjacent to the stage area on one side and some pool tables on the other...didn't eat inside of the venue but did notice the pop up pizza place a short walk away inside of the casino. You can enter from either Main Street entrance or from inside of the Plaza casino floor, at least on this night which was very crowded..my only complaints were that they cut the concert off without showing the encore because they had a live band playing sometime after midnight, they couldn't have waited another 20 minutes or so and shown the finale?? Also, the drink prices were exorbitant for an off strip property, $60 for four beers, seemed a bit extreme in my opinion...since there was no cover for the show I'll take that in stride but if that is the everyday price then that is a bit much....anyway, could see returning in the future depending on the event taking place...slight recommendation
