I tried using the AAA hotel booking app. It doesn't work. I made a reservation on it and got to the major chain hotel at 11pm and they told my family that the only thing they could offer us was a couch in the lounge. They were all booked up. "But I made a reservation online", I said. The desk clerk responded, "I don't know anything about no app." He said that we could sleep on the lounge couch. We looked again at the app and found another hotel nearby. At the front desk of the second hotel I was quoted a high price for a room. I said the AAA app had a lower price. They invited me try booking online. I punched in the current date, my credit card and clicked accept. The app changed the date without my realizing it and I ended up paying for a room two days later. I paid in cash and knew, looking forward, that I was going to have a tough time getting a refund. It took at least 4 frustrating hours over the phone and emailing to finally get a (partial?) refund from the hotel itself, which actually was not at fault for the mistake. The AAA representative listened sympathetically but said that they did not take any responsibility for the app that bears their name. If you go through some layers of corporate obfuscation, the app might be operated by Expedia. They do not want you calling them and they certainly don't want to give you your money back. So don't make reservations through the app unless you want to lose your money. But you can still use it this way: Check the nearby hotels on the app and call them directly. Say that you saw a price quoted on the AAA app and ask if they can honor it. Our second hotel did not honor the AAA price but came pretty close.

Had a tire go flat while on Loudon Rd., Concord, NH, late Dec. 2024- and pulled into the lot near the Post Office. Called AAA, and was told they'd be there in about 45 minutes. They got there in less than half an hour! The AAA man knew his stuff, located the leak (whatever had punctured the tire had fallen out) and patched the tire quickly and expertly. It is Jan. 5, 2025, and the tire is still great, and I bet it will still be great until I replace the whole set of 4 tires!

I have cancelled my automatic renewal because for the 2nd time one of my teenage children was left stranded on the side of the road after being told a tow truck would be there in an hour. after an hour no one had showed. after 2 hours another call to AAA was placed and was told no one was coming. This is NOT acceptable! no call no show! Its bad enough to leave someone stranded on the side of the road but its much worse to leave a child stranded at midnight!!

On Sept 12, 2020 I pulled into the Fort Eddy plaza location to pick up a map and guide book. Google and their website both say they close at 1:00pm. Got to office at 12:55pm. As we walked up to the door they locked it. They even saw us walk up. I've been a gold member since 1992. You would think a member based organization would put more thought to taking care of their clients. And not be so obviously rude.

AAA is great and gives me piece of mind as a traveler. I have been a AAA Plus Member for many years and the free emergency roadside assistance and towing (up to 100 miles with Plus) has saved the day or night on several occasions when my car has died or I locked my keys in the car. AAA also offers free maps, tour guides, travel brochures, travel agency services, travelers checks, insurance, discount tickets/coupons, "show your card & save" discounts on everyday things (restaurants, hotels, car rentals, attractions, etc), passport photo services, foreign currency exchange with no fees (order & pay ahead of time), and travel books & accessories for sale. I stop this AAA Northern New England branch in the Fort Eddy Plaza whenever I need free maps & guides, currency exchange, and discount movie tickets. The staff here is very helpful and I get what I need quickly, but sometimes they may try to sell their AAA insurance and offer a quote too. The $76 annual membership fee (in 2015) for AAA Plus is well worth it for the piece of mind and the numerous discounts offered too. For me, the membership already pays for itself every year since my local mechanic gives a AAA discount on auto repairs and I use AAA for hotel and rental car discounts too.

AAA's telephone lines spew busy signal 2nd day in a row. Checked online and placed order for battery replacement service (cold weather killed battery). An email was promptly received to confirm....with note that service would arrive in 240 minutes! The e-mail had no ticket or reference number and advised to call the same telephone # that continually is coming up busy to get updates! I do understand that with current deep freeze that there are many people needing service, but come on! Even a message explaining that "due to unprecedented volume, we are unable to bla bla bla" is better than busy signal! By the way, 240 minutes was up yet another 240 minutes ago....still no battery.,,,

Services is no where near what it used to be years ago. I called for a tow around noon and was told someone would be there within 45 minutes. After many calls and four hours later I was basically told they busy and were having trouble locating someone to tow it. What it boils down to is towing companies give AAA the least priority. Maybe they need to work out better agreements or something... So what am I paying for here? Last year of membership for me thanks.

Similar story as the others. Battery died- unable to contact anyone from any office for aaa. I find this terrifying as a young woman who was seriously at a loss for a bit today. Aaa has always been available in the past? Busy signal busy signal. Not even a message. I am furious. I have been trying for 6 hours now- and have filed a report with consumer affairs.

My wife's car would not start today. She called AAA Southern New England for over 30 minutes and kept getting a busy signal. When she went online to request help she was given a six hour time window for help to arrive. Obviously AAA Southern New England does not have enough staff to handle service calls during cold weather. I had to leave work to rescue my wife and jump start her car. When we got home we cancelled AAA and demanded a full refund as their service is horrendous and not worth the money they charge.
