Each ingredient is honored and present with every bite. Seasonal produce is used for the dishes. The best branzino I've ever had! Looking forward to coming again when the menu changes. We opted for the tasting menu for our anniversary! Everything exceeded our expectations! Below is what we got, I'd recommend them all. First course: 1. tuna - sweet soy vinaigrette, cucumber, mung beans, sesame 2. ricotta - lemon & poppy seed, pistachio, pickled plum, sumac pesto Second course: 1. risotto - roasted pear, black garlic, fennel, watercress 2. cavatelli - brown butter, celery root, belper knolle Main course: FOR TWO 1. whole bronzino - charred lemon beurre blanc, artichoke, olives, caperberries Dessert: 1. budino - chocolate, saffron cream, toasted 2. pistachio tarte tatin - plums, whipped buttermilk, puff pastry

We had the most incredible meal here for my husband's birthday. What a culinary gem in south Jersey! It's also BYOB so don't forget your favorite bottle of wine :) The staff is so attentive and kind - they helped us have a comfortable and amazing experience as a family even with an active toddler. We had the tasting menu and loved every single bite. Everything is flavorful and interesting and unexpected in the best way. We left so full and excited to return!

Food is not worth the hassle, don't waste your time or money... As someone with over 20 years in the fine dining industry, I understand and respect the purpose of cancellation policies. They help protect restaurants from last-minute no-shows and lost revenue. That said, the way Hearthside handled my recent reservation experience was disappointing, unprofessional, and--most importantly--unwelcoming. I had a reservation for four on a Friday evening. The morning of, due to unforeseen changes with my guests (who have a young infant), I canceled via their SMS system around 9:00 AM. Despite following the process and acting in good faith, I was sent a notice later that day stating I'd be charged a $200 cancellation fee. I called immediately, not to argue, but to try to make it right. I offered to come in myself, to reorder the reservation, even to dine solo if needed. I spoke with multiple staff members, and each time I got closer to a resolution, the goalposts seemed to move. I was told I couldn't dine alone. Then when I had two guests, I was told the table was no longer available. Finally, after confirming I'd come with three other guests, I was told only outdoor seating was an option. We arrived--on time and with all four guests--only to be seated outdoors at a windy, unheated table along the street, despite empty indoor tables clearly visible. When we kindly asked to be moved, we were met with abrupt rejection. From the moment we arrived, we were treated as a burden--not as welcome guests. To salvage the night, we ordered a few starters and planned to move on. Our server, James, was exceptional--polite, attentive, and clearly a professional. He was the only redeeming element of the evening. When we requested the check, James let us know that the $200 "cancellation fee" had been applied to our bill. Despite showing up, dining, and doing everything possible to resolve the situation, we were still being charged as if we never came. My neighbor went inside to speak with the manager and owner and was met with resistance and deflection. I followed up myself, calmly recounting everything--how I had spent my day trying to make this right, how I brought four people, and how our treatment since walking in had been noticeably cold and dismissive. The manager claimed my neighbor had been rude (he hadn't), and responded to my concerns with visible frustration, even telling me "there's nothing to learn here" when I suggested this could be used as a growth opportunity. After a lengthy back-and-forth, the chef finally agreed to refund the $200 charge--but only after a long, draining effort. While they comped our appetizers (which we didn't request), it didn't come close to balancing out the antagonistic and punitive way we were treated. I left the restaurant feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and frankly stunned at the disconnect between Hearthside's reputation and our actual experience. This review isn't written out of emotion. It's written so others don't have to go through the same. Hospitality is more than food--it's how you make people feel. We came to the restaurant in good faith, eager to dine, and left feeling like an inconvenience from start to finish. I hope Hearthside reflects on this not as a one-off, but as a sign that sometimes policy needs to be balanced with empathy, flexibility, and basic human decency.

A modern contemporary American cuisine for the ages!!!! This establishment exceeded our expectations beyond measure. The rustic industrial ambiance was super trendy and the food was to die for. We came hungry, and left PLEASANTLY plump. We ordered the table side shareable tomahawk steak recommended for a party of 4 or more, and the waiter drastically underestimated my boyfriend and my ability to devour this-- the chimichurri and crispy potatoes and all. The appetizers were unique and perfect shareable sizing, including a refreshing beef carpaccio and small plate pasta specials. We are dying to come back soon!

Easily the most elegant and decadent restaurant in an area already replete with spectacular dining options. Your meal will cost you a mortgage payment or two, but it's worth every penny and you won't regret it. The decor is wonderful. Dimly lit, real candles, views of the wood fired oven over the counter. The service is top notch, with a rotating waitstaff that is incredibly attentive, professional, and friendly. The food is truly next level. The menu changes constantly and only offers what is fresh and in season. It's a four course meal with a few options per course. You choose everything at once and they then bring each course out as they are ready. We came here last night to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. I ordered the artichoke, orecchiette, 1/2 chicken, and the buttermilk biscuits. Everything was inventive and incredibly flavorful. Highly recommend this restaurant anyone looking for a special place to celebrate, or for fine dining that is unmatched in this area.

Hearthside was a dining experience that will make all other dining pale in comparison! It's casual, yet upscale. How is that possible? Unpretentious service that focuses on details- new small plates for each course, clearing and wiping any bits on the table with a dry cloth between each course, folding your napkin when you go to the restroom, several quiet friendly servers taking care of each of these details. Four courses of culinary creation and being able to see into the bustling kitchen where much of the food is being prepared is a sight to behold. The Hearth itself is a piece of art, then add the movement of chef and cooks for art in motion! The design and decor of the restaurant is brilliant! They've created a chef's table in a cozy corner that would accommodate 10. Then there's the elegant dining room of 2 and 4 tops that's hemmed in by 3/4 walls on two sides. Be sure to look up at the ceiling. It's a beautiful piece of architectural detail. There are floor to ceiling doors on two sides of the restaurant that open to tables for Al fresco dining with heaters during cooler evenings. As a party of six we were seated at the chef's table. We opted for chef's choice family style dining. The chef picks the items from his pre fixe menu to send to your table. He curated a wonderful sampling of his creations for us! Hearthside is nestled on a corner of Collingswood, and is a fresh, contemporary space for al fresco or indoor dining. The ambiance is cozy and sophisticated and the young lady at the hostess podium was accommodating to our needs. We opted for the prix fixe menu and enjoyed every bite. Service was attentive without being pushy and annoying. Overall, it was a lovely experience for my daughter's 14th birthday. In other words: Hearthside lives up to its hype.

Great service! We love coming to Hearthside for date nights. Sitting at the counter especially in the cold winter months is amazing. My mouth waters thinking about the hamachi and artichoke first courses. The only miss we've had here was overly salty scallops.

My boyfriend and I came for our anniversary meal here. Cannot say enough about this experience. Flavors were delicious and service was excellent. Holden did a wonderful job. The special rack of lamb was beautiful and flavorful and perfectly wood fired/roasted. We will definitely be back. What a great place!
