OMG detta är ett så roligt ställe att gå till. Från att surra i bokhyllan är en upplevelse. Drycker var fantastiska och jag tyckte maten var riktigt bra. Servicen var bra med bra rekommendationer och kontroll på dig. Skulle definitivt rekommendera

Detta är min nya favorit lönnkrog i New York. En spännande och genomtänkt cocktailmeny, ett välutvecklat tema med nickar till Times Square från förr, servrar som njöt av sitt arbete och gjorde söta samtal. Lösenordet finns på deras hemsida men det finns NO pompous gatekeeping och även dörrpersonalen var vänlig och hjälpsam. Pricy (men IT är precis utanför 42 nd street) och jag uppskattade att de beräknade service för dig. Första baren i New York där jag inte ogillade de 20 %.

Vi var inte helt säker på vad som väntade när vi gav lösenordet och gick ner för trapporna till den dolda baren. Jag har sett en recension om klädkod, men för att vara ärlig tänkte vi inte ens på det och det verkade inte vara ett problem. . . vi var inte speciellt uppklädda, men då jag inte bär joggingbyxor! Om du vill ha en rolig och annorlundanet kväll, sedan ge det ett försök. Glöm inte lösenordet för att komma in!

Jag hade besökt The Woo Woo & intilliggande Mean Fiddler två gånger förra sommaren och njöt av det. Nyligen tog jag hit min syster efter en Broadwayshow. Tyvärr var detta tredje besök en enorm besvikelse. 

 - Inkonsekvent klädkodstillämpning

När vi kom fram stod det på en skylt vid entrén ”inga träningsbyxor eller träningsoveraller.” Jag hade på mig en chic outfit (kabelstickad hög polotröja, figursydda byxor, läderjacka och guldaccessoarer) som var helt acceptabel på Broadway-visningen tidigare. Trots detta nekades vi omedelbart inträde på grund av mina byxor, som personalen tydligen ansåg vara emot klädkoden och kallade dem ”mjukisbyxor”. Detta var förbryllande, särskilt eftersom flera beskyddare tilläts gå in i leggings, scrubs, crew - halströjor och även hoodies - klädsel som tydligt strider mot den förmodade strikta klädkoden. Dubbelmoralen i genomförandet var frustrerande och pinsam. 

 - Oförskämd och oprofessionell personal

När jag artigt bad att få tala med en chef om frågan, avskedades jag abrupt utan någon förklaring eller diskussion - ”Jag är chef, klädkoden är strikt” och sedan gick han därifrån. Till min förvåning återvände en anställd sedan med en utkastare, trots att vårt samtal förblev lugnt och respektfullt. Vi lämnade utan svårigheter, men stannade utanför för en kort tid. Babysittern var oförskämd och arg när jag frågade om klädkodsinkonsekvenser, och han platt - ut vägrade att klargöra vad som var acceptabelt, och sa till mig att ”sluta prata med mig, du kommer inte in” efter att jag frågade vidare om klädkoden. I alla dessa samtal förblev jag artig, förbannade inte eller höjde rösten. Jag möttes inte med samma respekt. Denna brist på professionalism och grundläggande artighet från personalen var häpnadsväckande. 

 - Överhypade drycker & Rushed Service

Från mina tidigare besök är det tydligt att cocktails här handlar om utseende. De kommer i roliga, estetiska presentationer men smakar som juice med liten komplexitet eller hantverk – inte värt den höga prislappen. Tjänsten under dessa besök var också stressad och ovälkommen. Personalen höll ett vakande öga på tiden och såg till att gästerna lämnade omedelbart inom den strikta 90-minutersgränsen, vilket gjorde att atmosfären kändes spänd och oinbjudande snarare än gästvänlig. 

 - Alla stil, ingen substans

Sammantaget verkar The Woo Woo vara en plats enbart för estetik och foto - ops, med mycket lite faktiskt värde i fråga om gästfrihet eller kvalitet. Inkonsekvent politik, ohövlig personal och mediokra drycker gör det inte värt ansträngningen. Det finns mycket bättre ställen i NYC för goda drycker och service, så tillbringa din natt (och pengar) någon annanstans. Rekommenderar starkt “Ingenting spelar egentligen roll” nära Hells Kitchen.

Theing var bra gjort. Någon gjorde verkligen ett bra jobb på att fånga den eran av Times Square. Cocktailarna vi hade var bra, och maten var ganska bra. Tyvärr listar webbplatsen en happy hour från 5 - 9 och kvalificerar den aldrig som endast tillgänglig vissa dagar. Hade jag vetat i förväg att det inte var giltigt på vår dag, skulle jag ha beställt annorlunda, mer intressanta cocktails. Jag är osäker på om det var servern som sa att det inte var giltigt bara för att få lite mer dricks, eller om det är målmedvetet av Woo Woo att öka försäljningen. Hur som helst var det irriterande. Jag spenderade en extra $ 35 som jag kunde bry mig mindre om, men på grund av betet och switch vs. vad som anges på hemsidan, kommer jag aldrig tillbaka.

Bra mat och dryck! Stämningen är i toppklass med 80 s theming, musik och filmer. Hela lönnkrogsscenen är rolig! Framsidan är en sjaskig sexbutik och sedan in i det förflutna på Times Square. Vi var de enda där ett tag och var tvungna att be om vattenpåfyllning. Vi fick då vår egen flaska.
