Love the decor! Love the neon lights at night. The bed was more comfortable than any chain hotel I have stayed in. Stopped in the Momo Lounge and enjoyed a local adult beverage and enjoyed the live music. This has been my favorite hotel while traveling Route 66. I want to buy this brand of mattress it was so comfy! No breakfast but that was ok. I would definitely come to this motel again.

A funky upscale motel just steps away from Albuquerque old town. The rooms are well appointed, and chilled to perfection when you step in out of the Albuquerque sun. It comes with everything you'd want in a modern upscale, funky motel. Large, walk-in shower, big flat screen, mini fridge, and a super comfy bed. There's a little pool, if you're so inclined, but don't look for a lobby area, they don't really have that, their check-in/checkout takes place in the Momo lounge, which is their on-site bar/lounge area near the front of the motel. The bar closes at 10 (depending on the crowd size), but there's somebody on staff there 24/7 to accommodate after hours check-in's. There are two distinct areas to the Monterery Motel, the first is the single story old school rooms that have all been upscaled to modern day standards, and the second is the two story building behind the pool area, obviously built later, but also very upscale in terms of amenities. Best of all, it's just a short walk (7 minutes if you meander) from the old town area of ABQ. Sure it's touristy, but there are some hidden gems in there too, (like Gobble This, the Salvadorian restaurant). There are also some wonderful little shops with authentic wares mixed in with all the touristy shops of crap.

Everything looked nice in the beginning, updated room, parking by the door. But then .... WiFi wasn't working. I called front desk, was put on hold without human interaction twice, that someone hang up on me. Called again, a lady picked up the call, told me she was in a different property. I went to the motel front, nice bartender told me that maintenance is gone, she can't do anything and her boss wasn't responding. WiFi never came up until morning. Not even an apology. Gets worse. Shower has a plastic floor and is slippery, I did not realise until used soap and fell on a sharp corner of a tile. Front desk told me there was supposed to be a shower mat. I agree but there wasn't. I asked a manager to contact me. Did not get a call. This is a NO GO place.

Stayed here a year ago and it was great. This year not so much. Staff sees guest as a burden. Rooms showing a years wear. Need holes in door patched and repainting. Overall didn't seem welcome.

Excellent! Clean, comfortable, elegant, friendly staff, located within walking distance of Old Town. They even offer a complimentary bar beverage at the Momo Lounge.

We got this at the last minute on the road. Wow were we fortunate, you check in at this adorable little lounge where there is music playing and a bar, so that was extremely unique and fun. The room couldn't be cuter or more comfortable! The hostess recommended a restaurant nearby called Sadie's and it was really phenomenal. We hope to stay here again when we travel through...

I've been staying here for a decade. The older owners were warm and sweet but like many things an update was overdue. Boom- prices have doubled to 140 for these simple pull your truck up to the door rooms. Thats understandable for all the modern changes but anymore and it'll top me out of staying here. I love the additional Momo Lounge with great drinks after a day of driving complete with loud DJ neon lit bar; it would make a great gathering for sure & I simply sat at the bar but there's outside seating. I couldn't hear the music from our room so that was good when I needed to get to sleep for another long drive across the Southwest. Rooms are clean, modern, & naturally homie for a relaxing vibe. Definitely a great classic stop for a halfway point between SoCal to Dallas.
