Shocking Last-Minute Betrayal New Mex-A-Que has served at our events in the past with exemplary customer service, not to mention awesome BBQ. Their food truck was always one of the crowd favorites. Everything seemed to be going right for this unique BBQ on wheels. Then the business changed hands and their priority for great customer service apparently disappeared. We booked them in February for a September event. They confirmed via email, but refused a deposit due to our past working relationship. Several weeks prior to our event we reached out to check in and firm up the menu. After no response to emails, phone messages and texts from the owner, we immediately called the previous owner who finally got back to us almost two weeks later at 4:52 PM, the night before our event. He messaged that the new owner had double-booked and they would not be serving BBQ for our guests. To clarify, that is a 100% cancellation notice only 16 hours before the start of our event. We've hosted and orchestrated a variety of special events for over 40 years and we are extremely well-versed on what it takes to prepare from both the planning side and the catering side. Completely abandoning a client at the very last minute is beyond unacceptable, especially when that client is depending on your food services for hundreds of attendees. At the very least New Mex-A-Que could have notified us at the time of double booking. At the very most, they could have offered some type of restitution for their last-minute cancellation. Instead, we got nothing except a meaningless commitment, and of course, no BBQ. It is always tragic to directly witness a once-trustworthy local company throw their entire reputation away. If you're considering booking this business, please use extreme caution based on a propensity for dishonorably breaching obligations and unscrupulous customer relations.

Cool bbq taco truck that has a lot of potential. The guy running the truck is friendly and is pretty fast. I got a few things to try like the carne adovada and birria tacos, a Cubano, and some brisket. I understand the challenges of serving brisket. The flavor profile was good, but the slices were overcooked. They fell apart when you tried to pick up the meat. Definitely try them out if you see them.

We ordered the birria tacos from here. My partner and I split them and the presentation and service was good. The food we got versus our expectations or hopes wasn't quite up to our preferences for flavor. The birria wasn't quite what you would expect with an odd flavor profile to it, I couldn't quite nail what was off, but we ate the tacos but weren't completely happy.

So sad I didn't grab a picture, it just smelled so good! I ordered the brisket cubano, perfect!! That sandwich was so delicious! My husband and I fought over it. Lol. I also got a side of the red Chile chips. Again, perfect! My kids fought over those. Flavors were just all around perfect! Will seek out this food truck next time I'm craving some good bbq!

Excellent bbq with a New Mexico flair. Great menu options. I had the cubano. It was perfect. Great flavor, fast service and a chef that knows what he is doing. Highly recommended.

NewMex-A-Que is an instant hit! First the truck is super clean and looks very inviting. You're greeted by the guys and directed over to the menu with a variety of bbq options that range from classic combos to sandwiches, and even some taco options. So many wonderful options when you have a hankering for good bbq in a place that just doesn't have many options. I opted for the French Dip. The bun held it all together and had a nice toast on it while the meat was covered with melted cheese, onions and cilantro. Meat is smoked to perfection. Juicy and tender with a great season. The au jus has an NM flair with red Chile and is a great compliment to the sandwich. Chefs kiss! Order was taken quickly and efficiently. Payment is easy. Then your food comes to you all packaged nice and neat in to go boxes inside of a clean New-Mex-A-Que bag. Highly recommend!
