This place has an upscale modern type of ambience. There was a fun fancy cocktail menu. My drink was pretty and bright pink. I think it was pretty good, but I can't recall the flavor or how much I liked it. For food, I got a tomato basil soup and pasta with a tomato based sauce. The food was fine and was presented nicely, but unfortunately it wasn't that tasty. They have a dance floor room with a DJ stand. Not really my vibe with the modern feel of it. I am glad they host queer women's dances though.

Oak and Ivy is one of the newest spots in Nob Hill. I would describe it as a cocktail bar primarily but they do have a solid food menu. The space is really nice and open. Service was attentive. I ordered the chicken sandwich crispy. The sauce on it was really really good but I found the chicken patty itself to be a bit dry. It was served with a generous portion of french fries. I will definitely be coming back to try their mimosa buckets which are offered I believe on Saturdays only. They also have a happy hour menu that I saw advertised on the board out front as well.

Came with a few friends on a Friday just as they opened at 5pm. I had not read any reviews beforehand, which is not typical of me. I believe we all liked the interior deco and the ambiance of the place. The oak floors are truly beautiful. The lighting is a bit intimate which I prefer to high intensity lighting. The drink menus were alright. My friends loved the martinis and cocktails. I found the beer options to be limited. The one wine I wanted to try was unavailable, but I found another and had 2 glasses. The wines are priced at an acceptable range ($7-10). The food menu is a bit limited, but we all found something to eat. I opted for just an appetizer (artichoke + pita). One lady had their pasole, which I guess was the soup of the day. She thought it too spicy. The three other folks had salads, entrees, and dessert. BTW, they did not have an actual dessert menu but the server listed several options which they found appealing. So, the guy who had the ribeye steak ($54) though it just ok. In fact, he took most of it home. The other two had the elk medallions ($30). They found the portions of elk to be sort of tiny. They thought the potatoes were excellent. They sauce that smothered the elk was pretty spicy, or so I was told. Would we return? Sure. I would give it another try. How was service? Good and a bit slow coming out of the kitchen. How busy? When we arrived we were the first there. Several tables filled within the 2 hours of our stay. I feel this newer addition to Nob Hill is still trying to find its niche amongst a large array of eat-and-drink establishments. I hope it finds its true identity as a unique brand and that they survive long term.

Drinks were not great. Too sweet and/or made with incorrect ingredients. The old fashioned I received smelled and tasted like cinnamon. When I let the server know she just mentioned that it's the bitters I'm tasting. Menu had no mention of cinnamon in this cocktail. She also never offered to remake it. Food was ok, nothing special. However, the food we received did not match the description on the menu. Service was quite slow. Not sure if this is a norm or if they were short staffed. Probably won't go back.

Cocktail bar where Yanni's used to be. I'm not sure how I feel about it. They were understaffed and the vibe felt cheesy. The food wasn't great. The waitress was trying her best.

They closed in less than a year and are trying to rebrand themselves but are a complete failure.

horrible. i'm sure it's great in the evening, but do not go for brunch. i had the literal worst experience. they opened like half an hour late and left us waiting outside until they felt like opening the doors, and the food was so ass they didn't even cook the meat. we could've gotten sick. mind you we were the only people in the entire restaurant so i'm not sure what the rush in cooking was there. we also only got checked on like once and no drinks were refilled when empty. just to top off the icky experience, i emailed and direct messaged the manager and never got a response back. so disappointing because i was so excited to try it. we all have bad days in the service industry, but geez guys.

I don't know what happened to oak and ivy. Went today and the menu is like Mexican food but none of it was very good. Presentation was ok but lacked taste. The drinks were horribly sweet. There was different music going on in the restaurant and the bar side, conflicting Mexican music. Maybe they sold it's definitely not the same. The server was very nice and attentive but I won't be retuning any time soon.

Room for improvement. The night I went with two friends the restaurant was almost empty. The bar was very dark. The place was badly decorated. The server was great. We wanted a bunch of appetizers but they were out of 2 of the 3 we wanted (veggies) so we ended up with stuff like fries. It was good but nothing memorable. Definitely room for improvement.

I think this place is more of a bar. I did a yelp search for brunch and we ended up going here on a Sunday and the place was empty. They were out of some items because of an event they had the night before. The food was good, but my husband had to send back his soup because it wasn't hot. Which they gladly remade. The service was perfect, but then there were only a handful of tables during lunch on Sunday. They had the windows open and it was kind of a cold day. So I guess you'd have to say that this review probably doesn't apply much because I think this place is more for people who go to bars and also want food.
