[Not Native-Owned] Lovely Old Town Albuquerque. Very Rude Shop Owner. Sounds like a provocative novel but unfortunately it's real life. Four strikes! 1. I greeted the white-haired elder woman while strolling down Romero street and in return she snapped at me. 2. Ten minutes later I asked if she was a shop owner, walked straight past me with a very curt: Yes 3. I walk up to the gallery and there she is. I'm peeking into the front door "we're not open yet, but we will be." (See video) 4. I asked a local native if native people own these stores and are represented. She said some but there are others who culturally appropriate and she said are "skimming and scalping stores" where they oversell something and it's not even yours to sell to begin with. When I asked about the owner of this gallery she said: "Oh she's absolutely horrendous." and said she dislikes going in there. Further, the owner yelled at her "Get out of here!" When she could have simply said: no drinks allowed. Alternative to abuse: The local said there's a store upstairs from there and is awesome. Also avoid "Rubber Tomahawk." [not native-owned]

I was in town today visiting with a friend who retired in this area. She took me to the old town Square area and said this was her very favorite place and that she had bought a few pieces in here over the years This gallery is quite large and we spent about 30 minutes looking around. There is a lot of variety- something for everyone. The two ladies working there were very nice and we felt no pressure at all. Leslie showed me a pair of earrings that I decided to ponder about as I continued to browse. Eventually, I decided to purchase the earrings which she beautifully wrapped and provided info on the artist. We will definitely return when I next come to visit my friend. No, they have a policy of not taking photos without asking one of the team members first, which is a common practice in galleries.

This is a very large gallery, with items ranging from large paintings for thousands of dollars to trinkets and jewelry for much less. The space is well-lit and work is artfully arranged, with ample space allotted for each artist's work. Most work is professional-level fine art, with some "gift" and "decor" items (live-laugh-love sort of sentiments on picture frames and tote bags) mixed in. Don't miss this spot when shop-hopping in Old Town ABQ!

Stopped here because of the exterior display. It's a large place and covers many connected buildings. It has a large selection of artwork using a variety of mediums. Inlaid jewelry, knives, oil & acrylic paintings, copper walls and table top art, metal plate abstract photography and more. I would have like to take more photos, but was stopped. The one thing that bothered me the most was being followed throughout the shop. An employee was never More than a couple of stops behind us. I much prefer to shop unharassed by employees regardless of their intentions. We may have bought of left alone to shop. Oh well probably not a place we'll be returning to anytime soon.

My girlfriend and I decided to admire the artwork and buy something here for our new house. An employee trailed behind us the entire time, staring at us the entire time (I'm not over exaggerating, she didn't even look away after we made eye contact and noticed her staring). After a few minutes, she said "can I help you guys?" Her tone was unmistakably condescending. My girlfriend said, "no thank you, we're alright." to which she replied: "mhm, I could tell." Then she *kept following behind us even after we told her we were good.* She followed us around every corner and stood mere feet behind us. Not even trying to be subtle about it. Wow. Observe that there is another review on this Yelp from two years ago mentioning a similar experience. I'm black so this isn't the first time this has happened, but my girlfriend (who's white) was livid. We left after my girlfriend realized what was happening.

I see some reviews comment on the restrictions of photos, yet that is a well posted restriction while pursuing the gallery. While I was there I was interested in some mobile hangings and the sales person had no problems with me taking photos in order to compare with my location at home. I found their staff quite friendly and professional. Picked up some small jewelry prices were reasonable.

Wonderful experience shopping with them! I was in love with a piece of art, and my husband was less sure. They suggested we take it home and see if it worked. Happy to say it did! Thank you Denise & Vicky for your great customer service.

Be very careful buying from this company. They don't stand behind their product. They don't tell you any special treatment needed on any of their jewelry. They just assume you know it. Then when asking for support, they tell you no and it's your fault. They won't help!! DON'T SHOP HERE!!

Unlike the many touristy gift shops in Old Town proclaiming to sell handmade art, you can actually buy locally made art here. They had paintings, handmade clocks, metal candle holders, jewelry, and so much more. Highly recommend stopping in for a special home decor item or gift.
