During our cross country journey from California back to NJ, one of our stops was in Albuquerque, thus we decided to answer the age old question in New Mexico: Green or Red? We decided to try Stripes for delivery to our Hotel, and we were really craving a breakfast burrito, and boy we were not disappointed. My wife ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and I ordered the sausage breakfast burrito. For the price (7.95 per burrito), you get a massive burrito filled with egg, meat, your choice of green or red chile, and cheese. Both of our burritos were excellent, the potatoes were nice and crispy, the cheese and meat were flavorful, and god the chile was to absolutely die for. Awesome place for breakfast burritos and would recommend to anyone in the area. AND for those of you that are curious, green chile I think is the way to go!

I got a simple egg and potato burrito. The red chili is so good with it! However, we weren't impressed with their breakfast burritos. My daughter said "very mid" - whatever that means!

We stopped in for lunch last week. Both of us ordered breakfast burritos, and my husband's chorizo with red was very good. The chile wasn't overly spicy and had a nice kick. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for my chicharron breakfast burrito. The first bite tasted like the oil was going rancid or needed to be changed, I'm not sure which. I tried a couple more bites which were fine, but then I hit another weird-tasting bite. I spoke to an employee, who said the oil was changed 2-3 times a week. The manager then told me that the chicharrones were cooked fresh daily and that the oil is changed weekly. I think they probably need to change the oil more often.

Cold nasty food. Worst breakfast burrito in Albuquerque. The food is not the same anymore. at least they still have good customer service, it's a shame the food is this bad.

I've been hearing a lot of hype about stripes in foodie forums, from locals and decent reviews on Yelp. So we decided to finally give it a shot. The chicken sandwich.. wow! This was a contender for chic filet or Popeyes chicken sandwiches. Even better I was supporting a local New Mexican chain, so I felt good giving my money to the smaller business owner. The chicken sandwich was 5 stars for sure. We also got the carne adovada burrito smothered in Christmas: first and foremost I wanna talk about how huge this was. If I had not much money to spare and I had 4 hungry kids I could feed myself and all the kids for this massive $10 burrito. We also both felt it was overly salty, and we like salt. You could actually taste the flavor of salt above all other flavors with spice being second biggest flavor we could taste. For this reason I give the burrito a 3 star The chile cheese fries. The flavors were great here but the green chile was so watery that it made the cheese feel like it was runny. I had mixed feelings on this one. I would definitely go back for the chicken sandwich!

I come to Albuquerque regularly and I figure that I would try this place. First time I went they didn't have no asada steak!!! Two weeks later I went and only the drive thru is open and didn't want my order. I can't use the drive thru cuz I drive a semi and have to walk to the location!!! So no no convenience at all!!! I will not try again!!!

I went through drive thru to pick up the chicken sandwich since it was right beside my hotel. The drive thru went quickly. the portion size is huge!! The chicken sandwich was delicious with fries on the side. The sauce had a kick to it which I loved since I enjoy spicy food. The ambiance seemed to have a diner vibe to it with indoor seating and drive through.

Someone recommended us try this spot and we are so glad we did. 10/10!!! So much flavor. My brother got the green chile in his burrito which was not spicy. I got the red chile which was very spicy. But not too spicy. Just the right amount. If you are in the area you must try this!!! Do not skip this spot.
