Such a fun and memorable experience! You start by giving the password at the hidden entrance, and from that moment on, it feels like stepping back in time. The actor who explained the house rules set the tone perfectly, funny, theatrical, and totally in character. Dinner was excellent. I had the ribeye, cooked perfectly with great flavor, and Jen had the filet, tender and delicious. Our waiter was fantastic: attentive, personable, and really added to the overall experience. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a speakeasy, dark, intimate, and full of character. Between the great food, service, and immersive vibe, this place nails it. Highly recommend for a unique night out!

I didn't know I needed to come here. I'm so glad I did! It's a speakeasy but they don't keep it totally secretive. Which is nice in the sense that after a long work day, I just want a drink!! From the greeter's character to being seated and served, service was a 5/5. I was able to try the Sautéed mushrooms, asparagus con carne, crab cake, adult Mac and cheese, seasonal old fashioned and the nuts and berries cocktail. Sautéed mushrooms: nice balance. If you don't like rosemary, maybe order something else. It's not strong but it's a strong flavor that not everyone likes. Not too salty. Perfectly sautéed. Asparagus con carne: this is filling!!! Solid girthy asparagus stalks and the meat was great. I've never had it wrapped with beef strip loin. It's tasty! Crab cake: petit. Plenty of crab flavor and not too heavily fried. Adult Mac and cheese: the smoked Gouda really makes it delicious. Seasonal old fashioned: had great notes of spices and vanilla. Nuts and berries: I can drink this all day long. Perfectly dessert to cap off the night. This place is extremely spacious. It makes you feel like you're truly underground. Bathrooms are clean also.

My husband and I came here for a date night after not having had many opportunities to have a fun night out in a while. We'd both never been here and thought dressing nice and going out would be fun. We were surprised when we arrived at the number of prom dates here; this always seemed like an adult place or a 21+ place to me. We enjoyed going through a bookcase door, going around the huge place with different settings, and sitting right in front of the piano player. Our server, Sterling, was fantastic. We had a brie appetizer, steaks, and drinks. Everything was good, and I couldn't finish all my food. Such a fun way to have a date night that is a little different than your normal place.

It was awsomeWe went there for our anniversary and we got the best treatment. Free dessert also. I love going back in time. The food was also to die for. It maybe a bit expensive but it is well worth it.

This was a very cool overall experience. From the beginning to end. Though I expected more than just a few black curtains dividing the seats. In my small insignificant opinion I think they should made the inside match the 20's experience and be beautiful wood and the whole style with the servers to fit the style as well. The food was good, little heavy on the butter on my steak, but still pretty good. Just for the price I expected the blow my pants off experience, and I didn't get it. So 4 stars for now. I would go back if the game is stepped up.

My wife and I come here every year for our anniversary and love the low lights, great music, and attentive waitstaff. The vibe is always relaxed and the food is always a knockout. This evening I tried the Elk Tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection.

We had a fabulous time on our 20th anniversary at Vernon's. The food was delicious and of course a good wine selection. Excellent service and easy to find. Five stars!!

Pretty blown away by the positive reviews after my experience there to be honest. I started by first having probably the most awkward introduction to the restaurant ever. The door man had to "let me know the rules" of the speakeasy and it was honestly just really weird to me. At one point he implied that I should put money in his hat in a very strange way. After that was over, I walked by the empty tables to my table at the back of the restaurant. Our server seemed to only recommend the entree items that were especially high in price and in many circumstances strongly recommended more add ons. Other staff members did not even know the menu. I felt like staff members were constantly coming over and interrupting our conversations, it happened very frequently. Overall, the food was beyond mediocre. The stuffed brie special tasted like something out of the frozen section at Costco, my scallop dish ($20 PER SCALLOP) was just basic, no better than any other scallop dish I've had. The parmesan risotto wasn't the right consistency and tasted purely of onion and white wine. Another person at the table ordered the filet and said it was dry, and the third person got the catch of the day and said it was fine. The desserts were inedible but to the restaurants credit, they did remove it from the bill. Overall, I spent a whole lot of money for very mediocre food and a very awkward experience. Not for me.

As a Vernon's VIP member for the last 7 years I'm a fan. Quality food, excellent customer service and attention to detail unmatched. Santo the VIP manager and José the main bartender nail it every time I come visit. And Jermaine provides door to door pick up service in their beautiful Limo every time. What's not to like. Had my go to Martini to start and a cigar in the patio. Moved inside for an excellent meal. I had the Stuffed Quail served up with a side of green beans and a mushroom risotto. Bam delicious. My son went for the special Pork Loin with a red chile glaze, mushroom risotto and asparagus. Also delicious. Vernon's is a special place here in the North Valley and if you haven't tried it yet you need to. First timers will be amazed at the Speakeasy vibe by knocking on the door and being asked through a sliding window for the 'password' Once inside a gentlemen dressed in a pinstripe suit and spats will give you the 'rules' of the house. Not to be missed. Trust me, the experience sets the stage for a memorable evening of nostalgia (Al Capone photos etc) and delicious food. Fugghedaboutit!
