Vi gick förbi det en natt och det såg så trevligt vi gjorde en bokning för nästa natt. Vi blev inte besvikna. Vi satt utanför vid ett av de 7 eller 8 bord de har på trottoaren.  Min fru åt en kycklingrätt och jag åt pepparbiff. Vi var båda nöjda, och för en fransk restaurang på Upper East Side, priserna är måttliga. 

 De andra matgästerna verkade ha roligt, och vad som var mer talande, alla servitörer log eller skrattade. Vi satt bredvid ytterdörren och inledde ett samtal med chefen. Han berättade restaurangen öppnade 1996 och de flesta av kunderna bor i närheten - det är en stadsdel restaurang. Som turister hade vi tur att ha snubblat på det, och kommer att återvända om vi igen besöker New York.

Men huvudorsaken till denna enstjärniga recension är Le Charlots totala brist på klass när den förvandlade vad som borde ha varit en skön påskbrunch till ett hastigt slut. Utan att nämna en tidsbegränsning för sittplatser på sin hemsida eller när bokningen gjordes och bekräftades, eller ens när vi först satt, mindre än två timmar efter att ha suttit chefen rusade oss ut innan vi var klara. Han hävdade att bordet redan var reserverat för någon annan. Andra restauranger som har tidsgränser för att äta mat ger förhandsbesked så att en matgäst kan besluta om att äta där eller någon annanstans och, om matgästen väljer att äta inom den tidsbegränsning villkor som fastställts av restaurangen, att takta sig därefter. Men inte Le Charlot. 

Det finns många andra överlägsna franska restauranger i New York som inte behandlar sina kunder så ohövligt. Men inte Le Charlot.

Vi kände oss säkra att ta ord på det och visste att han inte skulle leda oss fel. Vi blev inte besvikna! Tjänsten var uppmärksam och maten var gudomlig. Det var en härlig måltid som avslutade ett minnesvärt besök i staden.

Vi stannade här för lunch på rekommendation av folket på Frick och var glada över att vi gjorde det. Le Charlot är en underbar Upper Eastside stadsdel hitta. Vi har ätit lunch två gånger. Läcker och riklig. Äggrullarna är mycket bra. Små och charmiga det är franskt men normalt. . svårt att få en dålig måltid i New York eftersom det är så konkurrenskraftigt. nära sittplatser och det är vad nyc handlar om. Du träffar människor och chattar. Lite högljudd men stor atmosfär utmärkt service och mycket professionell. Jag skulle rekommendera detta som måste besöka om du är i grannskapet.
