If you have a mold allergy, avoid. If you enjoy hot water, avoid. Bathroom fixtures are disgusting and for some reason the toilets in the two rooms I saw are mounted so high everybody including men 6’ and taller, had their feet dangling above the floor when sitting down — super weird. Beds are comfortable and minibar is well appointed. Staff are super friendly especially at the bar. Breakfast diner/restaurant was poor quality. Still had a great visit to NYC but this hotel was memorable for the wrong reasons. Location is exactly what you get - midtown and accessible to different spots but not exactly cool.

I had always wanted to stay here. Location was fantastic. Rooms had very strange smell and needed repairs but overall pretty good for a small NYC hotel room. Had a desk and nice bed/bedding. Bathroom was compact and not ideal if you like to shower without washing hair - only rainhead option. Also needed some repairs to properly work shower and toilet.

LOVE this hotel! As a boutique hotel, you never know what you're going to get for a room, and every room I've stayed in has had something a little bit different about it. Very tongue in cheek writing on the wall and hidden messages as well as interesting layouts and a really cool old school feel. Downstairs the lobby is always Electric, and the bar always has amazing cocktails and excellent staff. The front desk staff is always very helpful and courteous, and check in is always a breeze. Given the location and price and unique Style, I always make this my place to stay when I visit New York City.

Rooms are outdated and feel dirty and old. The curtain that decorated the wall was filled with stains.
Bath was peeling and had rust in some corners.
I’m sure they were gorgeous 5 years ago. But they are not maintained properly.

The location is great and the staff was great and the rooms are rather big.
But I kind of expected more from a hip hotel…

We stayed at the Ace Hotel in Chelsea for the first time and absolutely loved it. We had an issue with hot water for the first two nights, which could’ve been a big inconvenience, but Freddie at the front desk completely saved the experience. He was so kind, took the time to listen, and went above and beyond to make things right—he even upgraded our room!

The hotel itself has such a cool vibe, and the location couldn’t be better. It’s literally around the corner from our office, so it’s perfect for our work trips to NYC. We’re in the city every couple of months, and after this experience, we’ve decided Ace Chelsea is officially our go-to spot. A huge thanks to Freddie and the rest of the team for making what could’ve been a frustrating stay into such a positive one. Can’t wait to come back!
