Great experience.

Started horribly wrong with my day after seeing this breaking apart in my bathroom. Called Active simply because they happened to be nearby. Told them what happened, they came same day and provided me feedback on how their order of operations goes.

They started with repairing the pipes that caused this heavy leak to break through my bathroom. Added plaster, and finished with a paint job.

I can tell they were professional from the start. It's been a few days and everything seems to be better than when I moved in!

Positioning of a TV to be mounted is not easy. I was delighted that tom took the time to with me to figure out where to position it in order provide optimum visibility. There were also so many things in the way of spots that would have provided the “easiest” mounting. He ended up choosing the spot that was a much trickier job for him, but which was the perfect spot for our TV. This perfect spot was not close to a power socket, so we will so grateful that he neatly secured our extension cable and made it as concealed as possible. I really loved all the added considerations this handyman took. Thank you!

Based on my experience with this company, I assume all the other reviews are fake. I called at the beginning of the week asking if they could fix a 1 (!) hole in my tenants' bathroom, as well as install a light fixture, and unclog a bathroom sink. Mia (the office assistant?) told me they don't give estimates over the phone but that everyone has been very happy with their prices and that no one had ever complained. I scheduled the for Saturday. Friday night, Mia confirmed that one of her guys the guy would come over Saturday, between 10 and noon.

The guy eventually arrive at around 1 pm--barefoot! (I live an hour away, mind you.) He looked at the things, took some pics, and said, it won't take him more than a couple of hours and that he'll be right back. I wait another half hour before I call Mia again.

She's like, OK, I've seen the photos, that's $1,400. I was like, "This is absolutely ridiculous." I'm used to dealing with contractors and told her, "Is this guy a lawyer? Because that's what a NYC lawyer would charge for a two-hour consultation." (Should have added that a lawyer wears shoes and ask whether his photos were better than the ones I sent her.) Long silence. I'm like: "No seriously, is he a lawyer? This should not cost more than $400-$500." (And I think that's generous for fixing something that doesn't require any higher education).

She goes: "I want to do it right by you, I'll can you back in 10 minutes, when I've found someone else." You guessed it: Never heard back. I planned my whole weekend around these clowns and now have to wait an addition week before I can put the apartment on the market. I'd just say: STAY away.

Would've been calling you guys if I found out sooner that the leak repair service would've been your expertise! After many other handyman to come in and try to fix this leak, Active was the only company to actually fix the problem.  Great help!

I’m so happy I got my door handle and lock replaced. The fixer did not damage the door whatsoever and it now works like a door is meant to! No sticking points whatsoever and the key slides in and out easily. This lock works so well and think we are going to do the rest if the doors with them as well! We will definitely get Tom  to do the other replacements as well.
