As stated in other reviews, rooms are compact, but not that bad. The hotel is smaller, which improves the experience. I'm a bit of a "clean freak," and this hotel doesn't give me any pause. Service and staff are excellent. My wife and I are very happy with our choice for a long weekend in midtown. It's definitely worth a small sacrifice on room size.

Stayed here for Valentine’s Day and scenery in their skyline rooftop was class- really enjoyed the view of the Empire State Building while sipping on cocktails. The rooms were of good size, some of the reviews mentioned they were small but to me I argue otherwise. Location location location, this hotel is situated in a good spot where most attractions are of a good length of a walk. A cozy and stylish hotel that I will be returning to and using their other locations when travelling

Excellent stay at the Archer Hotel.  The Archer King Empire View was just what we needed for our NYC Trip.
The Archer Hotel site is very clear and detailed in the room size and layout. There is a 360 degree view of the room and the square footage is clearly stated.  The room is small and Archer is transparent on that fact!

The view is amazing and it is NYC so how much time is spent on the room?  Archer provides little details in the room that make the space cozy and inviting.
No concerns with cleanliness, mattress, bedding, etc.
The location is great. Close to Bryant Park and once again the views of The Empire State Building are amazing.
The check in process was easy and the lobby and roof top bars provide excellent drinks and food if you do want to stay on.

This hotel is one of the most overrated places I’ve ever stayed.

We visit New York almost every holiday and usually stay near Bryant Park. This time, we decided to splurge and booked The Archer, which looked promising but wasn’t worth it.

The room was tiny—just as small as, if not smaller than, other hotels we’ve stayed at for less. But the real issue was the mattress. It was so cheap and uncomfortable that after three nights, we were genuinely debating switching hotels in the middle of the night. Both my husband and I left with terrible neck and back pain, and we’re still feeling it a day later.

The lobby? Tiny. Honestly, everything about this hotel felt cramped.

To be fair, the customer service was great. When we asked about flipping the mattress, they couldn’t, they offered us foam pillows, which didn’t help much but at least they tried. The location is fantastic—probably the only reason they can charge so much.

If you’re going to spend this kind of money, I’d suggest going with a hotel that offers a better overall experience. The Hyatt, for example, is a little cheaper, less trendy, but just as nice—and the rooms are bigger. Safe travels!

The Archer Hotel has a reputation for excelling in various aspects of hospitality, yet it falls notably short regarding the rooms and their related marketing claims. If you are considering a stay, I urge you to exercise caution when booking. The room advertised as capable of accommodating four adults is misleading; in reality, it barely offers sufficient space for one person. The beds are tiny, which can be pretty uncomfortable, and the room is so compact that taking more than ten steps without feeling cramped is challenging.

While the hotel promotes the convenience of storing luggage under the bed, this is only feasible if your bags are relatively small—larger suitcases simply will not fit. Paying over $500 a night for a room where navigating the space is nearly impossible when multiple people are present feels unjustifiable.

On a positive note, the Archer Hotel's location is undoubtedly one of its strengths. It boasts an ideal proximity to numerous attractions and shopping districts, making it perfect for those exploring the area. Additionally, the staff is commendable: they are courteous, accommodating, and genuinely eager to assist guests during their stay.

However, it is disappointing that the room dimensions are so inadequate. The hotel markets itself as a luxury boutique, but the size and amenities of the room do not meet the standards typically associated with such branding. Ultimately, while the Archer Hotel has redeeming qualities , the room situation is a significant drawback that potential guests should be aware of.
