A friend of mine recommended this place as a secret place
But nothing secret is there
The minute we went in the hotel lobby a friendly guy escorted us in there….
The burger was a super simple burger that was super expensive….
The atmosphere was really nice but the burger wasn’t even worth it.
Dont recommend for the food.

This was a cool little speak easy experience. Was tucked away in the back of the Thompson lounge area - would have never even guessed it was there.
Staff were cool and laid back. Food was great - we got burgers and a grilled cheese (my cheese wasn't as melted as I  like for grilled cheese but taste was still good).
Boozy milkshakes were great but expensive.

Super cool location. The double burger is a bit too much burger mess. Two singles would work better. The shake was yum. Good thickness and flavor. Also, you get a tonne of fries, and the fries are great. Could use a bit more salt, but cooked crispy! The price, though. $50 for a burger, fries, and a shake without a happy ending is a bit too much.

The Burger Joint at Thompson Central Park truly is a hidden gem. Make your way through the lobby and Parker’s Lounge area and you find a red curtain atop a short staircase.  Once the past the red curtain, you are transported to a quintessential NYC no frills burger joint.  Line up to place your order. The menu is simple, burger or double burger, preferred level.of doneness, cheese or no cheese, the works or just LT,  bacon or no bacon.  I chose the cheeseburger with the works and bacon with an order of fries, and a draft beer.  The wait is a bit long as to be expected as the place fills up quickly. Seating is first come first serve so plan accordingly.  The
Decor is classic 80s NYC. The ambiance and vibe is very laid back with good music playing. I grabbed our meal and we sat to enjoy the atmosphere and food. The fries were thin and crispy, just how I like. The burger was a good size burger with flame grilled taste. No frills classic burger that just hit the spot.   They also have milkshakes which all looked pretty good but the Oreo shake caught my eye in particular. I will definitely try to pick up a shake next time.  Burger Joint proves that simple is best.

Excellent experience, deserving of 5 stars because it exceeded expectations. The burger is delicious, and the fries are tasty and very generous in portion.
The service, while not exceptional, could still be improved.
The staff is kind during the ordering process, and the way tips are requested is quite charming.
