I love clay pot so much.
The neighborhood where I live has clay pot as well. I eat it almost once a week!

We got 2 of 2 topping clay pot
- beef and Chinese sausage
- eel and pork belly

Flavor was really good, love sweet soy sauce (the must) and they also offer spicy soy sauce and ginger paste. Very good with the rice together.
Our favorite topping is eel, we didn't see those topping before, it's quit fit with the pot.
The beef and pork belly taste pretty good but we feel they should cut it in little smaller, so is easy to mix and eat with rice.

Definitely worth to try if you never had clay pot before!

Flavorful clay pot with veggies and choice of protein. The homemade ginger and scallion dressing added on top together was great! Felt like eating a home cooked meal. The service was great too.

Not many personalized clay pot restaurant around and this one definitely hit the mark. As expected with any clay pot dish, give it time. I’m the interim get some apps and a beer to bid your time, talk to your table mates. The clay dish was with salmon and pork. It was excellent, crispy rice, with a plethora of sauces that you should definitely add and mix. The service was attentive and on point. Prices reasonable. Would come back.

Been meaning to come and test this out as Manhattan only have two known Clay Pot shop that I know of.
Pros: no wait at 7pm on a weekday for a party of three; starters came out very quickly and follow by our orders; alcohol options should be available soon; Ginger sauce and spicy soy sauce are both very authentic; rice and pot are both the right kind so it produces the right smell and texture when it's done.
Cons: sausage is on the sweet side (traditional one is sweet and savoy blend); chicken and beef pieces are too big for the taste to soak through.
Final thoughts~i would recommend it to others who is rice lover and want to try it for the first time.

Tip: Be prepared to wait for your food for at least 20 minutes after you have been seated on a fully packed occasion.

It was my first time trying out Clay Pot at their new West Village location during their opening week. I must say, they got that crispy rice right on the money; the rice was crispy enough to deliver that crunch and none of it was burnt. One bite of it and it took me back to the days my mom used to make it for my brothers and I when we were kids. It’s a simple and delicious meal, but the process to make perfect clay pot meals require skill that Clay Pot has down to a science.

During their opening week, it was fully packed and when we were seated, we still had to wait an additional 20+ minutes to get our food. Clay pot food is no joke, there is nothing you can do to speed up the cooking process unless you want brunt crispy rice. I ordered 3 toppings: beef, pork belly, and veggies. When I got my food, there seemed to be a lack of additional veggies as I compared my clay pot’s veggies to my girlfriend's clay pot veggies who didn't ask for extra veggies for her toppings. I also find that eating their fried tofu was like eating cardboard, but it might be a bad batch because the quality of the rest of the food was substantially better. The service here was top-notch and I can definitely tell that the wait staff was well trained by management. Essentially, Clay Pot might have had won my taste buds, but my mom’s clay pot still has my heart.
