This is a really nice place to go hear jazz and have a bite to eat… we didn’t eat dinner there… But we had dessert and coffee and drinks and the food was good and the service was nice too… The only complaint is that the bathroom on the floor was completely filthy.  The Soho grand should service their bathrooms more often… Still, I would come back here to hear live music!  Also, I love the warm ambience of the room!

I believe we spoke that night, right? The way you handled the situation was very unprofessional. Instead of trying to understand the problem and find a solution, you told me, "It’s my mom’s birthday, and he is our friend!" Your friend was drunk or possibly under drugs and tried to harm my service dog. Instead of addressing that, you falsely accused my dog of licking his plate, which never happened. You acted as if I was the one who ruined your mom’s birthday, when in fact, I was just protecting my dog.

To be clear, I am not looking for a free dinner, I can easily afford that. This is about professionalism, and the complete lack of it that night. As long as this management remains in place, I will never return, and I will be sure to let my friends know that the Club Room at Soho Grand is not a safe or welcoming place.

I hope this experience serves as a lesson, that your responsibility should be to protect your guests, not cover for drunk or impaired friends.

MANAGER is very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I’ve been a regular at The Loft Room at Soho Grand, enjoying jazz nights with my service dog. Tonight was a terrible experience. A drunk customer tried to harm my dog, and instead of addressing this, the manager, who claimed to ‘run the place,’ was extremely rude and defended his friend. The manager falsely accused my dog of licking a plate, which never happened. He even mentioned it was his mother’s birthday, seemingly using it as an excuse for the drunk friend’s behavior. This unprofessional attitude is unacceptable. I will not be returning!!!!!

On a usual jazz night, the place is very nice, classy ambiance with good drinks. But I cannot agree with the way they run the place on a “clubbing”/party night. For example, this past Saturday while we stayed at the hotel.

To enter the place, you first need to get a stamp. To get it, you’re required to stand outside a squared off area, with a single guy stood in the middle, wait for him to come and PICK YOU. No line, stand anywhere, clear indication of their intentions to filter.

You could be picked within a second if you know him/he knows you or if you fit a certain demographic profile, otherwise, endure the sheer arrogance and be prepared to wait.

Other people work there shared with us that “they give preferential treatment to hotel guest, but they run as independent business on nights like this after 10 pm”.

While we waited, an extremely rude guy just cut through, stood between me and my friend, brought a group, apparently knew the guy PICKING people, started chatting. I said “you just came and stood between me and my friend while we’re also waiting to get in.”, no apology, no nothing and the picking guy told me “you need to step aside”, then let the rude guy and his friends in. Till now I still cannot comprehend this exchange. I regret very much for have not said “no I’m not stepping aside, please apologize first then ask again politely”.

At this point, I really wanted to get in to see what a great party they must have curated with this opaque selective process. Once you’re in, it’s a very small dance floor with extremely gender imbalanced crowd (this is what you created with that selection process??!), and there’s apparently another guy deciding who can stand close to the DJ and who cannot. The tone the hand gestures to wave people out or let them get closer were also extremely condescending. We left within 10 min.s to go somewhere else.

If the group runs this place on a clubbing night is outside contractors hired by the hotel, please seriously consider change this up. If it’s hotel employees, please consider employee training, from basic lesson 101 - respect your guests.

From the squared off area to giving all the power to ONE GUY, let him making selective and preferential decisions based on rules only “the club” knows. This resembles very closely to a certain political regime that’s hugely unpopular in the west. To see this in action in SoHo NYC was astonishing. Why are people putting up with this?

This place has gotten so much worse since Kent has begun working here. I used to spend a significant amount of of money in the club room whenever I would stay at the hotel, and now Kent refuses to give me a stamp while letting hordes of men who are improperly dressed for the club and don’t pay for bottles. For context, I’m a 30 year old clean cut guy who was actually staying in the hotel. There is no ticket system, showing up early doesn’t help, and it is completely unreasonable to ask a single person to pay over $1,000 for a table…I will now be staying at PUBLIC hotel where guests paying for high priced rooms are welcome to the rooftop by showing a room key. This guy is a real jerk, doesn’t foster a good atmosphere in the venue, and is likely the reason your lobby and venues are filled with men wearing sweatpants and hoodies that don’t even buy drinks. Keep it classy in 2025!

Min man och jag tillbringade nästan en vecka på Grand Soho Hotel, och medan större delen av vår vistelse var trevlig, var vår erfarenhet på ** Club Room ** på fredag, den 2: a, djupt nedslående och ärligt talat oacceptabelt. 

Vi kom fram till 7 : 15:00 för att njuta av den levande jazzshowen. Vi betalade en $ 20 täcka avgift per person, beställde drycker och snacks, och tillbringade ett par trevliga timmar där. Omkring 9 : 30 PM, bestämde vi oss för att lämna kort för att utforska en annan bar innan DJ-set började. När vi återvände vid 11 : Klockan 30 ändrades tonen dramatiskt. 

När vi försökte gå in genom andra våningens ingång, stoppade ** säkerhetsvakten** oss och sa att vi inte kunde gå in igen eftersom vi inte hade armband. Hans attityd var otroligt nedlåtande - en av de oförskämdaste vi någonsin har stött på. Vi förklarade artigt att vi var gäster på hotellet, och han sa avvisande till oss: ”Prata med Kint, det är inte min ensak.”

Fortfarande med fattningen kvar, gick vi runt till huvudentrén på gatunivå och frågade efter "Kint. " Han ignorerade oss tills någon annan tilltalade honom vid namn. När jag äntligen fick hans uppmärksamhet och förklarade att vi var hotellgäster som försökte komma tillbaka - in i loungen, ** hans svar var chockerande **: 

> “Jag bryr mig inte om du bor på hotellet. Det är jag som sköter det här stället.”

Han sa åt oss att ställa oss i kö som alla andra. Vi tittade på när flera personer släpptes in framför oss — utan armband och utan att betala något skydd. När det äntligen var vår tur fick vi veta att omslaget nu var **$ 300 **. Det var tydligt att vi behandlades orättvist, om inte direkt diskriminerade. 

Både ”Kint” och säkerhetspersonalen var **stötande, oförskämda och helt oprofessionella**. Senare lärde vi oss av andra hotellanställda att ** denna typ av beteende är inte ovanligt **, och flera gäster har haft problem med denna individ och hans besättning. Det är en otrolig besvikelse, särskilt eftersom ** Club Room aktivt marknadsförs av Grand Soho Hotel som en förmån för gäster**. 

Denna erfarenhet lämnade ett bittert intryck på vad som annars var en trevlig vistelse. Club Room är en belastning för hotellets rykte och gästernas totala upplevelse. Ledningen på Grand Soho bör allvarligt ompröva sin relation med personalen som driver denna plats. Tills ändringar görs, skulle jag starkt råda hotellets gäster att **undvika The Club Room helt**.
