Worth the Hype

I visited Cosme with my family during a trip to NYC, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. We shared several dishes, all of which were amazing. My favorite was the shrimp—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.

For dessert, we tried the churros and the corn husk meringue, and both were incredibly delicious—definitely a must-try!

We also had a baby in a stroller, and the staff was very accommodating, ensuring we were comfortable while the baby slept. Excellent food, great service, and a lovely experience overall!

Outstanding meal service as always. This was a return visit. Menu has been streamlined but still showcases their outstanding cuisine.  An array of vegetarian and pescatarian friendly dishes. For the meat lovers - there's steak and duck (must try)! Every plate more exquisite than the next.  Uni Tostada with bone marrow was my favorite. The hamachi crudo was outstanding as well. And the Mole de la casa, manchamanteles and parsnips was a perfect marriage of texture and flavors. Tortillas are served warm as an accompaniment with some dishes. (Note, no more tacos on the menu). Desserts were also excellent - especially the Burnt tostada Tiramisu, was the best I've ever had.

Came here for my bday dinner, love the intimate vibe with dimmed lights, background latino music. Menu is simple but drink menu is quite extensive with margaritas, cocktails, agave tequila flights, etc. we ordered the uni tostada, mole and duck dish to share. Everything was super flavorful and each ingredient complimented each other rather than one overpowering. I was so impressed by the mole it was so rich in the sauces I couldn’t stop scraping the sauce from the plate. The duck was so juicy and the blue corn tortilla was chewy just how I remembered trying in Mexico. Last but not least the corn husk meringue is a MUST!

I came here with my bf to celebrate my birthday.
High-quality food with good service. The atmosphere was excellent, I enjoyed every dish I ordered.
Cocktails were great,
1. We had herb guacamole, which came with corn tostadas.
2. Octopus was super good, I love it!
3. Fluke, tomatillo, pomelo ceviche,  has delicate flavor and texture, the flesh was very thin, ate it with corn tostadas, perfect!
4. Entree we had duck carnitas, which I also posted a video of, this was the BEST duck I've ever had in NYC, duck meat was very tender and juicy, pricy but worth it!!

For dessert, we got cornhusk Meringue, amazing!
I barely ordered sorbet at a restaurant, but the orange blossom vanilla sorbet was so good!

At last, I had a birthday cake from the restaurant, which made my heart so warm!

Overall, 10/10.

Had an amazing birthday dinner here! The staff were amazing, patient, and attentive. The food and cocktails blew me away. I will be dreaming about the fluke dish everyday. Nothing was lackluster, everything truly impressed me. Thank you for your hospitality and service - I will be back! :)

Cosme is perfect for dinner, lunch, or brunch, and offers takeout for those who want to enjoy their innovative dishes at home. While outdoor seating is unavailable, there are convenient paid parking options nearby including garages and lots. The restaurant welcomes groups and caters to cocktail enthusiasts with its vibrant drink menu. Note that while the atmosphere is tailored for adults, children are not the primary focus here, making it an ideal spot for date nights, celebrations, or food lovers exploring New York’s culinary scene.

Utrymmet känns snyggt men ändå bekvämt, med generösa bord och varm belysning som sätter stämningen fint. Vi började med bläckfisken tostada och tataki al pastor, båda fulla av djärva och skiktade smaker — al pastor i synnerhet utmärkte sig med sin söta och kryddiga balans. Till huvudrätt var ankkarniterna vackert krispiga och serverade i en gjutjärnspanna som såg lika imponerande ut som den smakade. Matlagningen visade verklig kreativitet och finess. Tyvärr blev kvällen besviken av en Service manager vars attityd kändes avvisande, vilket tog bort vad som annars kunde ha varit en felfri matupplevelse.

Min fru och jag njöt av vår middag här. Det rådde viss förvirring om sittplatser eftersom människor som bokade för restaurangveckan sattes längst fram på stället nära baren, medan vanliga matgäster satt längst bak i trevligare omgivningar. Även om vi hade bokat in oss på restaurangveckan innan deras datasystem började skilja på olika typer av matgäster efter att ha suttit längst bak, fick vi veta att vi skulle behöva flytta till ett gemensamt bord där fram om vi ville äta restaurangveckans meny. Detta var försvårande men eftersom vi inte ville sitta vid ett gemensamt bord beställde vi från den ordinarie menyn. Den fina - stora guacamole portionen var god, och de stora tydligt hemgjorda chipsen gjorde för en trevlig kombination. Vi behövde den tillhörande varma såsen för att göra IT precis rätt. Bläckfiskhuvudet och auberginen med mullvadssåshuvud var båda utmärkta. Huvudrätten kom med tortillas för att göra fina wraps till maten. Medan allt var utsökt var delen av huvudnätet ganska liten: 6 - 8 tum bläckfisk och 1⁄4 av en fin - stor aubergine. Fine - äta mexikanska kommer till en hög kostnad också. Vi beställde 2 rätter vardera och fortfarande var redo att äta mer efter att vi lämnade. Menyn är indelad i 3 smakrika grupper och vi misstänker att det kommer att behövas en beställning av en vara från varje grupp för att tillfredsställa en normal aptit. De kryddiga mexcalita cocktails var fantastiskt! Personalen var också trevlig. Maten var 5 stjärnor, men den höga kostnaden med små portioner minskade vårt betyg. Om du vill splurge på utsökt fin mexikansk mat är detta bara platsen för dig.

Ännu en bra utflykt. Den här gången var vi alla skaldjur - uni tostada, pilgrimsmussla crudo, räkor pastor och hälleflundra - alla var mycket välsmakande som vi har kommit att lita på och förvänta sig här.

Med tanke på restaurangens lovord och Michelin erkännande, var jag fascinerad av utsikterna till en ny spin på mexikansk mat. Överlag var de mexikanska smakerna för dämpade, även om rätterna var vällagade och i allmänhet hade attraktiva presentationer. 

Första intrycket när du går in i restaurangen är mycket positivt - det drar dig in till restaurangen. Servicen var vad du kan förvänta dig från en restaurang av denna kaliber. Inkonsekvensen i menyrätterna är svagheten i helhetsupplevelsen. 

Örten guacamole var en neutral start, följt av flum tostada som skulle gynnas av lite mer syra och chili. Min största besvikelse var uni tostada med benmärg - benmärgen var osynlig och salsan överväldigade subtiliteten i uni. Både bläckfisken och tataki al pastor var fina men saknade nyanser i smakerna. 

Det mexikanska inflytandet på strippbiffen gick förlorat på vårt bord - det var bra men gjorde lite för att skilja sig från en strippbiff på andra restauranger. Ankkarnitan var dock en positiv höjdpunkt - i efterhand hade vi beställt två portioner. 

Punch upp den mexikanska accent smaker och detta skulle vara bra. Som det är, det var mycket bra och vi kommer att återvända på vår nästa resa.

Cosme är en restaurang i Flatiron District i New York som serverar modern mexikansk - inspirerad mat. Ett modernt utrymme med rymliga matbord och mjuk belysning. På menyn finns rätter med rötter i mexikanska smaker och traditioner, samtidigt som man hyllar lokala och säsongsbetonade råvaror. Vi väljer bläckfisk tostada med chintextle och tataki al pastor till start. Al pastor är en fullkomlig fröjd med sin söta kryddiga och nötiga smak. Huvudrätt var Duck. Även om ankkarnitan är dyr, imponerar den med sin perfekt tillagade och krispiga anka och öga - fångande gjutjärnspanna. Denna matlagning är smart, och ibland förvånansvärt känslig. Tyvärr denna läckra middag var fördärvad av en oförskämd service manager som behandlade oss som om han var irriterad av vår närvaro.

Maten var utmärkt! En av de bästa mexikanska restaurangerna jag ätit på. Servicen var riktigt trevlig och alternativen var stora .

Om du vill betala mycket för medioker till smaklös mat är detta platsen för dig. Servern som tog vår beställning var avvisande. Fisken var smaklös. Mullvaden var hemsk. Ärträtten som skulle vara ett signaturmenyalternativ var - ja jag vet inte vad det var. Biffen på 106 dollar var ok. Drinkarna var goda. Ljudnivån var tryckande.

Vi hade sett fram emot att komma till Cosme sedan ett tag tillbaka, förväntar sig otrolig mat, maten var bara OK, inte dåligt, men inget speciellt, samma guacamole, tamales, ceviche, chiles som du kan hitta på mycket billigare mexikanska restauranger. Servicen var bra, restaurangen är vacker men det är inte värt priset.

Jag är personligen inte ett fan av mexikansk mat eftersom jag ofta tycker att det är tråkigt förutsägbart, ofta stoggy och ohälsosamt. Cosme-menyn var den motsatta ABSOLUTEN. . . . mycket innovativt, allt smakfullt och hälsosamt och alla våra sex rätter var fantastiska. Ankan var särskilt bra.

Vi satt snabbt och hade bra service. Servitören gav utmärkta matråd och vinförslag. Så mycket svårt att fel. Det enda man var försiktig med var att Cosme inte är den billigaste. . . . för två personer 4 x små förrätter och 2 x elnät + 1. 5 flaska vin var kostnaden $ 495.

En extra bonus var att nästan allt var glutenfritt vilket var bra för min fru som nyligen utvecklade en mild glutenintolerans

ett riktigt intressant sätt att uppleva mexikansk mat på ett nytt, innovativt och mycket väl presenterat sätt - rekommenderas att dela rätter och njuta. Se också till att du får en tabell i baksidan av restaurangen där den är mindre bullrig. . . vinlistan är omfattande, lite dyr tuff. . .

Tyvärr var Cosme en stor besvikelse. En middag för två med en flaska rött vin kom till US $ 480. Menyn var förvirrande och skilde inte mellan förrätter och huvudrätter. Vi tog anka som en huvudrätt (delning). Ankan var medioker och väldigt lite kreativ. Tjänsten var opersonlig men snabb. Vi kände att de ville ha oss så snabbt som möjligt. En middag för två hölls på 1 timme och 10 minuter. Rekommenderas inte, det finns hundratals bättre restauranger i NY. Varför det var helt fullt är obegripligt.

Jag och min fru åkte dit under vår smekmånad. Vi arbetar båda i gästfrihet och vi älskar att gå i en fin restaurang över hela världen.
Maten var ok, inget minnesvärt men kan inte klaga på det.

Det som var pinsamt det var tjänsten, vi bad två gånger om vinlistan och när vi äntligen fick den och beställde vi var tvungna att vänta 20 minuter för att få vinet på bordet. Det som var irriterande är det faktum att vi beställde vinet före förrätter och vi var tvungna att vänta med maten framför oss. maten blev naturligtvis varm, du kan inte förvänta dig att folk ska vara på en fin restaurang och ha hälften av måltiden utan vin!

När vi avslutade huvudrätten bad de om efterrätt och när vi sa nej gav de oss bara räkningen på 2 sekunder.

Antagligen serverar de inte cocktails, kaffe eller sprit efter middagen. . . förmodligen är policyn "få dessert eller gå ut"!

De gav fel meny, och jag var super upphetsad att prova anka mullvad, men de var inte tillgängliga, totalt sett tycker jag maten var utsökt! ! ! ! Priserna är astronomiska och känns

Det är synd att en restaurang som representerar en kultur som är känd för utmärkt service under levererar denna stora. . . . tjänsten var fientlig, pretentiös och helt förstörde den övergripande upplevelsen. Mat var ok, vissa rätter bra några andra under genomsnittet.

Jag har aldrig skrivit en recension men erfarenheten som vi hade på Cosme var så hemskt att jag inte kunde avstå. I staden för några dagar och vill ha några fina måltider ute och prova några nya ställen vi hade hört talas om, reserverade vi här. Från det ögonblick som vi anlände 5 minuter före vår bokningstid och blev orörd att veta att vänta i baren, under sittplatser och marginal service var vi mycket övertygade. Sedan läser vi den begränsade menyn med otroligt dyra val. Då kom maten fram. Guacamole för $ 19 som smakade som min? En bit kallkräbb på en sten? Några taco skal och lite kall kalvkött, en medelmåttig mol och vi var färdiga. Nästan $ 500 senare gick vi till middag på en fantastisk liten bistrot nära hotellet. Denna plats är inte värt hype!
